Stratagies for not cheating........

WHAT ARE YOURS?

I cheated today which lead me not to eat my lunch! I know I know I shouldn't have done that but I did.
anyway......
I have noticed that I don't have a problem with the meals per say.....i can eat healthy, however, I do have a problem with picking......all day. A cookie here a cookie there! Mostly the kids snacks....which I have for school etc.
So what do you all do when your about to grab a cookie or chip?
Is it something you think about whats the process of stopping. I would love to know !

This can be a problem, can't it?? There are just too many tempting goodies in the world.

Out of sight, out of mind works for me. I usually keep anything I'm trying to stay away from on the top shelf in the cabinet. That way I have to really make an effort to get it. And if I can't see or get to it easily, I find that I don't want it enough to go to the trouble of getting it. I am lucky in that my DD is older and is very capable of making her own lunch and getting her own snacks!

I also just don't buy that many cookies or chips anymore. At first I felt guilty that I was depriving them, but then I realized that I had been eating more of that stuff than they had anyway. So I buy much less junk food now and guess what?? They really don't miss it at all. When I buy now, I get stuff that is not as bad for you like pretzels or low-fat pudding cups.

And the last strategy I use is to always have something handy that is an allowable snack. Depending on my mood that might be baby carrots or celery sticks (0 points on WW) or jello low fat pudding cups (2 pts), ff lite yogurt (2 pts), ff popcorn (1 pt.).

Even with all that, I still can't resist every now and then. :( When that happens, I just count it in my points for the day and move on from there.
 
I live alone so I just don't buy too many temptations. I try to grab a piece of celery or glass of water when I get the urge to nibble. Sometimes that doesn't work, and I just cheat.

NOw thats honesty.......glad to know im not the only one who simply CHEATS.lol
