Three funny things
1) I ended up being a "bouncer" at my sisters brother-in-laws funeral. Family didn't want his ex there. When she showed up and went to the casket she tried to pick up the body to hug him. I had to escort her out.
2) when my mom died in 1-2000 it was a thursday morning. We had planned her viewing for Sunday so that her family could get here from Florida, and bury her on Monday. Of course we had the biggest snow fall on Sunday night. We got about 13 inches of snow. So Monday after the service at the funeral home we went to the crypt building to do the "graveside" because of weather. My imeadiate family (Dad, me,dh, dd, sis, sis, bil, 3 neices, aunt, gram, gramp, uncle) stayed because we wanted to see her put into the ground and buried. To make sure she was where she was suppose to be. After about 25 mins the funeral director comes to me because we have no idea what is taking to long to move mom to the grave, and says that the truck they use won't start, it will take about an hour to fix. We say ok we will wait. about 45 minutes later he comes to me again--they can't fix the truck. We ask if they have any way to take her to the grave site. They said an old beat up ford pick-up with wood on the back instead of a truck bed. My family busted up laughing and said it would be perfect, but we wished it was a Chevy.
3) when Gram died she wanted to be buried at sea. so we had her cemated. After we got her ashes back we took a charter boat call "Little Toot" out to spread her ashes. Just before we start to "bury" her there were 4 dolphines off the back of the boat. We knew it was the right spot for her. After she was "buried" we threw rose petals into the water and the dolphines started to swim a buetiful pattern around the petals
