Strange Question...

I was reading a thread last night (the thread is now locked...) and a little yellow bar popped up across the top of my screen (between the address bar and top of Disboards web page) that said .This page may be a scam proceed with caution. Was it just my computer or did anyone else see this when browsing threads?? My DH is the computer geek and he was working when it popped up and is snoozing now (I forgot to ask him about it.) Any ideas?? I've never seen anything like that on the Dis before..

OKAY, I just found it on page 3 of the CB!!! That has to be the ODDEST Thread I have read in a LONGGGGGGGGG time. And it started LATE, right after I went to bed hence me missing it!!!

Yup, CLOSED UP NICE AND TIGHT!!!

You guys did a TON lot of snacking last night between all that popcorn and candy!!!

I've been getting weird error messages when I try to open.... threads by controversial posters. It sounds like we're having some kind of forum glitch. Natural selection perhaps?! LOL!!

No bars in any other colors ever, just the yellow one last night and only on that particular thread. No other threads, just that one, that's what makes it so odd. (and if I open it now, even though I shouldn't be reading locked threads ) the yellow bar appears again!!

Oh...I had no problem opening it up at all. And towards the end of the Thread, everyone was giving each other popcorn and candy...it was quite comical as it was getting towards the CLOSING end of the Thread!!!

My DH has my computer loaded with so much McAfee stuff from firewalls to spam to pop ups I am actually surprised of anything I can actually do on my computer!!

Do you have Earthlink? If you do, it's their ScamBlocker warning. I get it every time I open a CB thread. I'm not so sure why Earthlink thinks that the Disboards are scam though. Maybe it's their not so sublte way of telling me I spend way too much time lurking on the DIS

thanks, I do have Earthlink, but that is the only thread I have ever seen it on. I lurk a LOT, I love to read and don't post a whole lot. Days like today when DH works nites I spend more time on the DIS than usual, can't do too much loud stuff around the house and didn't feel like going out with the young'uns.
