strange question Where do you buy needles?

this is weird I know. My mum said that I need to just go to the pharmacist and ask for them. The reason I need them is that I think we have some mold in the carpet she suggested injecting some vinegar into the pad to kill the mold.

So where would I buy a needle for something like that?

Like I said I know its a weird question but I would rather ask here than somewhere it could be misconstrued. Its ok you can go ahead and laugh at me

Never heard of injecting vinegar into the carpet to kill the mold...but I get al lof my syringes and needles from Tractor Supply. If I need special ones, like the tuberculine ones, I get them from my large animal vet.

You could probably get them from a cooking/kitchen store. I think they have 'injectors' for marinades. I know I've seen them for turkeys.

Pharmacies might require Rx. Depends on the state...

My BFF is a vet tech (in addition to being a counselor) so she gets us needles from the vet office. We use them to kill things we don't want in our saltwater tank, if you inject a super high concentration of salt water into things we don't like (things that live on the rocks and thus can't be removed easily) it will kill them. You could try your vet, or an animal supply type of store.

I don't need a prescription to get needles, but they definitely make sure I'm using them for medical reasons before I go.

Often Public Health has them for free, and no prescription was required but I think you need to pretend you're a drug user to get them so I've never tried.

For a carpet I think it would make more sense to use a baster or one of those rubber ear bulbs or even a windex bottle.

I thought they were prescription only. I had a cat who was diabetic. His insulin was over the counter, but the needles were prescription. I had to get them at CVS every month. The prescription label read "Misty "CAT" LastName"

We also couldn't throw them out. I saved them in 2-liter Coke bottles and when I had a bunch, I brought them to the vet to have them destroyed. I was always paranoid about being pulled over while driving with ten bottles of needles. "Well you see Officer, I have this diabetic cat, right..."

Maybe I should call a flooring expert and see if they agree with my mums prescription if so they should know how to get the right syringe, right?

Note, that PP appears to be from Canada - different rules apply. There are some states that allow for over the counter sales (or even handouts) of needles, but I couldn't list them...

If you have mold in the carpet you should tear up the carpet and pad and replace them. It is a health hazard. That said I have to give myself B12 injections and a while ago they gave me bigger needles then I like to use. I could mail them to you if anybody knows if mailing needles is legal or not?

I would love to but we rent this house for now. It isnt a huge area, they had a plant issue where they had 2 story tall palms in our dining room. They ripped up most of the carpet and replaced it with new carpet and pad but there is still a small area. I was able to get the stain out but I *think* there is still mold in that one area.

And thank you for the offer but I wouldnt want you to get in trouble ( I have no idea if its legal to ship them or not)

Here, they have to give you syringes at the pharmacy when you ask and are not allowed to question you.

Anyhoo, what about a fish and tackle shop? My DH uses them to make bait.

I have no idea about the needles, but just be careful about not getting any of the vinegar directly on top of the carpet.

I had an indoor cat years ago who urinated in a few spots on our family room carpet. Someone suggested vinegar to get the smell out of the carpet, so I sprayed the spots with vinegar. I should have done a test area first, because now I have several spots on the edges of the carpet that have no blue color. The vinegar took the color out of the carpet.

Tractor Supply sells them. They are in the aisle with the cattle meds/vaccines. Dh picks up a box of 18G 1 1/2" for me every few months.
