Strange question about character dining

Some of the places where they do character dining look really great, but me and my boyfriend don't want to go for any character dining, it;s just not for us.

Is it possible to eat anywhere where they do character dining....but without the characters?

Hope someone can help, I just can't work it out!

Sometimes their feelings get hurt. Eeyore was upset that I wouldn't ride the Pooh ride with him - there just wasn't room for him and claustrophobic me in the hunny pot!

:)

Some of them will leave you alone, others will still try and get you to interact. I would tell the server your request, and you should be ok. Chip and Dale may drive you a little nuts, or they may respect your wishes!

take this as a fun reply please: loosen up.

Sorry...All the entrees come with a side of Mickey and gang! :teeth:

Seriously, I agree with the other poster. If you really want to eat at one of the meals, just go for it. Even if the characters do come by (and they will) just let them know you'd rather pass on the character interaction. They'll understand.

Is it possible to go to those restaurants at a time there won't be any characters at all? Or are they only for character dining?

Check the menus on allears.net. Some places like CRT have characters at one meal but not another.

I once had Meeko follow me around AK FOREVER. Some of them get bored if it's slow. If it's busy, they'll respect your wishes for the most part.

Sorry, I hope I didn't sound uptight. We don't get to spend a lot of time together. We're not as boring as we sound, but at O'hana for example, that was just right for us, a little light entertainment but mostly we could just enjoy some rare quality time together

Well, it isn't like Mickey sits down and eats with you (at least, not usually, he has actually sat down with my kids during slow times). The just drop by for a picture. You can always shoo them on-- "Thanks for stopping by Mickey, I bet the children at the next table would love to see you!"

Liberty Tree Tavern doesn't have characters at their lunch meal. You can eat at the castle for dinner without characters. O'Hana for dinner doesn't. I think that might be it.

If you are looking for a good meal and a quite place to have some quality time together then give Jiko a try. No characters. We love doing character meals, just hubby and I but I would not reconmend them for a place to spend some good quality time together.
