Strange packing items

Strange items I want to bring (and where I want to pack). Anyone see issues?

Roll of quarters (carry on).
Wireless access point & network switch (two items- carry on).
DD's softball glove & ball & my glove & ball (checked).

The quarters are for the toll road between my MCO & my parents.
The WAP & switch are to setup at my parents so DW can use her laptop.
The softball gear is because DD is a pitcher and she needs to practice (yes, it's vacation, but if she wants to play, she needs to stay sharp-- or at least not get too dull).

I'm paranoid about our luggage not making it on the plane with us. Not that it will be "lost", just that it will be "delayed". So I put stuff I'll need for the first 24 hours in carryon.

The last couple times I checked luggage, one bag had to be delivered to us because it had gotten "delayed".

No problems with any of that.

I always bring lots of quarters in my carry on for tolls. Last trip we brought our gloves as softball season was about to start, and I always have all kinds of electronic gadgets in my carry on for entertainment on the flight and at our destination.

Travel safe!

I would take the quarters out of the roll and just put them in a plastic bag. They'll look less suspicious when going through the scanners and be easier to get when you need them for the tolls.

All fine, but I agree that the quarters might cause your carry-on to be searched if they are in a roll. Just put them in one of the small plastic bins for the x-ray scanner.

I had one roll of quarters in my carryon pocket left over from a previous trip.
My entire carryon had to be emptied so they could find the METAL LUMP.
Just take the rolls out of the carryon, put them in a baggie in the bin.

I totally agree with this comment. We once packed some rolls in a checked bag and when we picked up the bag it had a note in it saying it had been searched , and one of the rolls had been opened.
I carry on an opened roll in a cute little Disney change purse all the time for tolls. Yes, do open the roll and carry it as lose quarters!
