Ok, so I called to put a deposit down on 185 points at BLT so I would have February points. The sales person didn't take my deposit, she told me not to worry and to call her back on Friday. Isn't that strange. I mean I've never met a sales person that was not eager to seal the deal. I am worried. Should I call back and speak to a different sales person...not feeling good about that however, I don't want to miss out on February points! I don't get it...I asked her multiple times if she'd take the deposit.

Should I be concerned? ...cuz I am.

thanks every one, you all are just another reason I love Disney!!!

What are "February Points?"

If you mean this is your first DVC purchase and you want a February use year, you don't have to purchase in February.

I don't know if I would be worried, just curious as to why she said to call back on Friday and not tomorrow, unless she isn't working again until Friday. Call and talk to MS. I would probably try to contact another person. Good luck.:thumbsup2

She told me that if I bought now I was buying Feb. inventory, meaning my points would replenish every Fed. Feb was important to me because we will plan to go down every year on Feb break. Do you think that's wrong. Sorry if I am appearing as an idiot...I am new to all this. Thanks so much for you help. I really appreciate it! This is a big purchase for my family and I am starting to feel a little jerked around or blown off. So far she's only sent me an email with the points info, and Product Understanding Checklist. I was kind of expecting a little more. Maybe I am just paranoid at this point...ugh. Thanks again.

Don't be, this is a huge purchase.
Ok, so a February use year. I would call and ask to speak to a different guide. Just tell them how you feel. There are plenty of other guides.

February may be the use year they are currently selling, but you don't necessarily have to buy in February to get a February use year.

It doesn't, however, matter what your actual use year is, everyone has the same chance to book a February trip at their home resort in March (11 months prior to check-in). Use year comes into play for banking points. For instance, a February use year will mean you will have until September 30th to bank your points into the following use year. A February use year will not give you a priority in booking a February vacation.

If you are looking to travel in Feb, then a Feb use year might not be the best for you...

I don't see why. If a person will only ever travel in February, then February is the best use year, because if a cancellation happens, you have the rest of the year to use the points. But if there is a chance that you might travel in December or January, February would not be good. You want to travel early in your use year, and avoid the last 4 months.

Also, you should know that although they are selling a particular use year at any given time to spread them evenly, if you push them, you can get a different use year (unless it is really totally sold out, which doesn't happen until they're nearly done selling a resort).
