Strange Call..

I just want to write about this because it was very strange. I called Disney photography today ( the number off of their website) because every email I have sent them for over a week (even using different email accounts) has bounced back to me as well as all of the contact forms that I have filled out on their website. If that had happened to me on any other photographer’s website I already would have decided against them, but it’s Disney and I have no choice so, I called.

I call and get hung up on the first time. Then I call back and I say I need to book a photographer and the woman says accusingly “for what??” I say a wedding and they ask if I am working with anyone, I say yes and tell her my planner’s name and she transfers me.

Then the second woman picks up the phone and I explain what I am doing again. She acts annoyed and confused and like no one has ever called her to do this before. She asks “How did you get my number?” Umm… I looked on the website to get the number then I called and they transferred me to you. Apparently I was confused as well because I thought I had to call on my own to book the photographer for the wedding as well. She explains a million times why I can’t do that, which I tell her is fine and I didn’t realize my planner was going to do it, and then says she can book the MK shoot. While she agreed to help me, she definitely acted and sounded like she had just woken up from a nap or something and I was the hindrance causing her to miss her nap.

They are completely booked for the entire week after my wedding so we had to do it the day before or the day of. I asked if we could even do it the day of because our ceremony is at 9 am at Epcot. She said yes, at 6:30. I thought that they had changed all shoots to be at 7:30 only?? So now I’m worried that they will call back to cancel it and we won’t get a shoot at all because we can’t go later and the others might be booked. So anyway…. The rest of the conversation didn’t go very smoothly either but I guess I’m booked? It was just very strange!

Did they happen to explain why their email was acting funky? That definately seems odd.

I'm sorry to hear the person you spoke to was rude and unhelpful. There is no excuse for bad customer service.

If you're worried that your MK shoot isn't booked properly check with your planner they'll check your booking and confirm if 6:30am is okay.

I agree with Leonix, always go through your planner and make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. This way you don't have this one telling you one thing and then someone else telling you something different. If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you go through your planner to begin with? The only time I spoke to DPS was when I was assigned my photographer and I spoke to him a month or so before my wedding to discuss what I was looking for.

From reading on here that's what I thought I was supposed to do! Apparently not? When everyone said that they booked their MK shoots I thought they meant that they called the Disney event photographers directly?

So maybe I AM crazy and that's why she acted like that. Oh well, it worked out in the end!

You're not crazy, we're all entitled to get a little mixed up sometimes. Lord only knows there is that much to take in when planning a wedding!

You're not crazy and a Disney cast member should never treat you like you are.

I had the same problem when I called DPS. I'm using an outside photographer for my Wishes Wedding but wanted to call and request a photographer for my MK shoot. First, I couldn't get anyone to answer. I had e-mails returned just like you. Really? Why does that happen? Then when I finally got to talk to a real person (there were so many recordings) they acted like they were annoyed through the whole conversation. Maybe it was because I wasn't using them for my wedding day photography.

I remember going to Disney as a little girl with my parents and all the cast members were so nice and friendly.
