Hello Dis-ers, I hope you can give me some good info.
My aunt and her partner (well actually now ex-partner but still good friends, no new partners for either of them for years, long story) asked me to plan a WDW trip for them during the EPCOT garden festival, which I have done. Touring plans, ADR's, the whole thing. I am a known disneyphile and they are both busy professional ladies in their 50's who normally wouldn't have the time (or manic energy) to devote to the kind of planning I usually do. This being said, they might be interested in any GLBT gatherings or activities that were available. Do these happen only during Gay Days, or are there ever any other events? Thanks for any info you might have :flower3:

Well, all of WDW is a gay event. :teeth:

But if you mean more formal types of things, then that usually is only during Gay Days or other major events like the FWF.

Is that the sort of info you are looking for, or do you want something more specific?

They are going to have so much to do at WDW during that time, they are not going to miss formally gathering with the community at all. Thank God for the multitude of CM's that are "family", they won't feel out of place at all.

I am going to be there for the Flower & Garden Festival myself. My partner will be home taking care of our 4 legged fur babies while I get my pixie dust buzz on. I was there last year in April and it was really a great time to be there. Yes, there were crowds, but with proper planning overall, with the exception of one crazy night at MK, it was fine.

Thanks! I am just a crazy woman who is trying to fit every possible type of experience in for them and I didn't want to miss something.

Coincidentally, I will be at WDW for Gay Days this year (had no idea when I booked my trip) and I am kind of psyched to see what its all about. Me, DH, Brother, Sister in Law, and 9 kids in tow. Maybe we'll see you there!

I agree It's seems like we're everywhere at Disney. I'm not real subtle and DP is always telling me "stop it, don't point, yes I know". I'm worse than the kids:rolleyes1

Hope your Aunt and her friend have a great time. We are going to be there 4/27 to 5/2. We haven't been there during flower & Garden Festival since our honeymoon in 1996. Can't wait to see it again.

One idea, get them some of the Mickey Rainbow pins for their trip! I swear you slap one of those on and every CM treats you like gold! :lmao:

BINGO! You can get them right on property at the big pin stores

I'm gonna send you a PM on a few other things...

How nice of you to plan this for them! :thumbsup2
OK- I just bought them each a lanyard and a mixed lot of about ten pins apiece plus a rainbow pin for each of them on ebay. Thank goodness for ebay! Now, should I just put the rainbow pins on the lanyards, do you think they will get noticed with all the other ones?

Ya! A good CM can spot a rainbow mickey head a mile away! If they choose to remove them and put them somewhere else, thats cool. But just having it on the lanyard when you give it to them will be great! Perhaps you could put it by itslef on the lanyard......:confused3

Thanks everyone for being so helpful, I want them to have an amazing time, it's been a rough year. I bought them a few pins each, including some fancy jeweled ones so they can have a little "Bling" and I'm putting them on the lanyards and gift boxing them. They'll know when they see the rainbow pins that they have significance, but I bet they'll be surprised at the positive attention they get from the CM's!

Thanks so much for being so friendly and helpful, and who knows maybe I'll bump into some of you wonderful folks on one of my trips. As I mentioned I'll have my whole entourage during gay days (kids, brother, SIL, etc.) but I am escaping with just DH this month for my birthday on 1/16 (Thank you WDW for the free day!) You have been a fabulous resource!
