Looks like Storybook Circus Land will be the first thing that reopens for the FLR.

That would explain why the Goofy coaster wasn't kept open when they closed down Toon Town. They're going to bring back the refurbished Toon Town area first.
This means that Dumbo will be either be closed/removed soon or they'll leave it up and just build an entire new Dumbo ride without the using the old one for parts.
I'm leaning toward the building a complete new one at this point. It's hard to imagine that they would close the parks most popular ride without something to pickup for the slack first (ala Little Mermaid). That and all the recent photos seem to show the new dumbo ride area is prepped and ready for construction.

I think this was the plan all along, I've read before that it will open first. I know this was on WDW Magic (in the forums) a while ago, from what I recall anyway, even if it was never officially announced.

Also makes sense, since it's the least complex part of the project by far.

I thought they would build one new Dumbo then move the other over but would always have a Dumbo in the park. So get the new one done open it then close the old one move/refur

What all is going to be in the tents?? I'm thinking M&Gs, maybe get Tink back in her spot then have Donald & Goofy in Mickey's old spot

That's possible I guess too. I just think it would be much easier for them to build it while the area is closed.

Wow. They really must've splurged on this one.

LOL,
Must just be cheaper than to move the old Dumbo and or close it down for any period of time. Keep your eyes open for 1 slightly used Dumbo ride on Ebay.

I could be wrong. In a perfect world they would move the current one and use Aladdins carpets for the second. Kill two birds with on stone, you get the 2nd Dumbo and the carpets die!

Nah...they'll use it for the next expansion project - super-sizing Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama, with dueling Triceratops Spins!

Not Cars... They'll want to play off of the popularity of the "Planes" spinoff so they'll replace the Dumbos with anthropomorphic Plane characters instead. :thumbsup2

:rotfl:
Those things have horns on them so it could be a little scary. Every time you circle around you'd get the apprehension of being impaled.
