Stormtroopers Stole My Christmas--*UPDATED 07/02/17!*--Pg. 10

Awe yea, I forgot that the Safari had the Big Red and Little Red Adventure story-line! And I can see the advantage of staying closer to Old Port Royale; you definitely had a great view of the fireworks. We've stayed in Jamaica and Aruba on past trips and never really saw a view like yours. Cool!

Yes! Martinique was a great location, it was about the third stop on the bus route... so not too bad!

This is my favorite meal at BOG! Of the 7x I've had dinner there I've gotten this 6. Always delicious!
:thumbsup2
I didn't realize you could see HS fireworks from there, that's awesome! I have friends staying there in April so I'll have to tell them. I'm guessing it was the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM ones you saw? But also thinking the Star Wars ones would be visible......LMAO!
:crazy2::faint: Yeah. If it was anything other than my phone I would have thrown it away lol but you can't do that with a phone! I've dropped my hairbrush on public bathroom floors-right in the garbage ::yes::
Second thing I've learned from your updates - don't think I've ever seen the kangaroos there!

Yes, those pomme frittes are life changing!!
It was the Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam ones at that time... but we could also see the Star Wars ones! At first I thought they were from Illuminations, but then Illuminations started going off simultaneously! It was super cool to see.
OMG a hair brush would definitely have to be trashed!!!!! ahhhhh I would die. The kangaroos were very active too!

I feel like it has been forever since the last update, but I'm still trucking along! I have a four day weekend that started today, minus work on Saturday, so hopefully I can get some updates done!

When I last left off, we were on the safari...

32497196262_2df2f94bfe_z.jpg

I have to say it wasn't the best safari experience, I was seated in the middle of the row and the driver was obviously in a hurry... therefore picture taking was at a minimum. The pictures I did get were terrible, I mean worst I've ever taken on the safari. Sorry... :sad2:

After the safari, we went through the Pagani Forest Exploration Trail.

We watched the gorillas for quite a while, the baby was trying her best to avoid mom... It was too funny.

After the Pagani trail, we still had a couple of hours to waste until our first fast passes of the day. Mom's shoes were hurting her feet, so we all decided to go back to CBR for a couple of hours.

At the bus stop, I took a shot of the floating islands in Pandora.

31807215614_afbe5f2f6f_z.jpg

This leads me to my next Disney selling point. With the announcement of Pandora's opening date, I'm working on convincing my dad for us to take a quick trip. So far I haven't tried too much, but I'll succeed in the end. No doubt. :teeth:

Once back at CBR, we all rested, charged our phones, and changed clothes/shoes for our evening at the Magic Kingdom!

31807191524_4fd0db678f_z.jpg

Security was packed, and almost everyone was being sent through the metal detectors at this point.

32527760901_3eabef8ea2_z.jpg

We made our way back to Splash Mountain, and rode in the very back row. Of course we were the only ones to get wet from the cannons in the front...

31807214854_0106203315_z.jpg

We hung out in Frontierland for a few minutes, and then made our way to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for our next fast passes.

31807214434_caf6d1c4dc_z.jpg

Needless to say, it was packed!!

Prepare for a bombardment of BTRM pics! I think it's one of my favorite picture spots in MK.

After riding two of the MK mountains, I got on the Disney Parks Shopping app (which is fabulous btw), and looked up sugar free suckers. The app said they were in the shop next to the Country Bear Jamboree, so we went that way.

Mom wanted to go see the CBJ, so we waited around 15 minutes in the air conditioning before the next showtime.

32270989500_e4c7641933_z.jpg

I was pretty bummed to see the lack of Christmas decorations in CBJ. Usually they wore Santa hats, and had garland strung up throughout the theater.

Sorry for the lack of words in this post... there's not much to say about the bears. lol.

31807204564_ee17b44a79_z.jpg

My uncle is always making fun of my mom and I, so I ended up texting my uncle that picture and said "I didn't know you were at Disney World this week!"
He didn't seem to like that too much, and responded I hurt his feelings. Lol. Such a baby.

Oh I forgot to post this picture in the update before this, I snapped this before we went into CBJ.

After the Country Bear Jamboree, dad and I went and rode Splash Mountain again with our fast passes.

32270979870_0267fd108e_z.jpg

After Splash Mountain, we had a little bit more time until our dinner reservations so I suggested we go see the Carousel of Progress.

Along the way, dad spotted one of the Sorcerers areas and wanted to take pictures of it. At the time, we had no idea what this little area off by Pirates was until a few days later when dad saw a few people holding up their sorcerer cards.

32650190955_0cd6c6944f_z.jpg

Walking towards Tomorrowland, we made a necessary photo stop to shoot pics of Cinderella's Castle.

32527727041_54780a24a6_z.jpg

Then theres me... excuse the Splash Mountain hair.

32270978230_c35f51b17b_z.jpg

Finally we made it to the Carousel of Progress! The park was getting busier and busier it seemed, but we weren't going to let that stop us from having a great Christmas Eve!

After the Carousel of Progress, it was time to walk to Tony's Town Square for our ADR's for 8:05. Before we left Tomorrowland, I managed to snag fast passes for Buzz Lightyear for after dinner!

32497154912_5ee583c13e_z.jpg

Once we were on Main Street, there was plenty of walking room. Dad was leading the way, with mom and I trailing off behind him. Unfortunately, a middle aged man ended up pushing me to get me out of his way. As he stormed past me, I yelled at him "Well, excuse me jerk!"
I'm not going to lie, the fact that a grown man pushed a woman kind of got to me. Once at Tony's, I told my dad about it... he was rather upset he didn't know of this occurrence at the time. In hindsight, I should have gotten security, but I just let it go. I just can't believe someone would blatantly push a woman out of his way at Disney.

While in the Lobby... guess who showed up to meet his family including wife and daughters. The jerk himself. wonder how he would have felt had someone pushed one of his daughters. :sad2:

Up next: Dinner at Tony's!

We were seated pretty quickly at Tony's, and put the rudeness of the man pushing us behind us.

32650184645_7722a325bc_z.jpg

Our waitress brought us some warm bread with olive oil to dip it in.

31837984243_ed1a0781ef_z.jpg

Dad ordered the shrimp scampi, which seemed to be a big hit...

32609565366_3c4a46daa6_z.jpg

Mom and I both ordered the chicken parmesan, which was just okay. It needed some seasoning. That's for sure.

31837983173_820074a22b_z.jpg

Then the dessert menus came...

32609564926_769a53bb12_z.jpg

Dad ordered the cannoli.

31837982473_4849aa81cd_z.jpg

While mom and I ordered the no sugar added raspberry sorbet. Which is the same no sugar added sorbet they sell at the Plaza on Main Street.

31807192944_63ff572e37_z.jpg

After dinner, it was time to use our fast passes for Buzz Lightyear.

32527726841_0e78c89938_z.jpg

Once we were finished with Buzz Lightyear, we were all pretty exhausted. Mom had purchased some Christmas gifts earlier while dad and I were on Splash Mountain, so we had to make one last stop at the package pickup before leaving.

After collecting the bags, we walked pretty quickly back to the bus stop as Wishes was over. There was quite the line at the bus stop, but we didn't have to wait too long and we were back at CBR!

Up next: Christmas, and scary people.

That man was so rude! There's no excuse for behaving that way.

Those cannolis look delicious :p

Holy crowded Frontierland! But yes really you seem to have gotten a decent amount done with it being Xmas Eve :)
It's been a few years since we've eaten at Tony's but when we did, older DS had the chicken Parmesan and found it bland. You can even tell from the picture it's bland!
Keep working on your dad for a trip back to see Pandora :thumbsup2 I'm so bummed we'll miss it by a few days in May since we leave to come home the 22nd, but at least we're planning to go back again in August.

He was rude! I know people lose their minds sometimes, but that doesn't justify his behavior. I should've let my dad say something... lol.
Dad loved those cannolis... he ate both of them, so they must have been amazing!

It seems like y'all were able to do a lot, despite the Christmas Eve crowds. But what a fun way to spend Christmas!! :)

The crowds were no where near what we usually experience during that time, but we managed to do a good bit. I'm trying to make another Christmas trip happen this year. :santa: Thank you for reading!

Oh man Frontierland was awful, people were literally just standing there incapable of moving from shock of all the people. It was too funny.
That's disappointing about Tony's, the chicken parmesan used to be so amazing. I guess they just put it together in a hurry now. Who knows.
Ugh that's disappointing you'll miss Pandora in May, but I can't wait to hear what you say about it in August. I know I told you this on your TR already, but I'm so jealous you are going to WDW so many times this year!!!! Thank you for continuing to read my TR!

Hello! Sorry for the lack of updates, law school is kicking some major behind lately.
When I left off, we had just finished our Christmas Eve celebration! At this point in the trip, we were getting pretty tired so everyone slept in before heading to Hollywood Studios for the day.

It was around 11 am when we finally made it in the park, and we headed straight for The Great Movie Ride.

32899024271_10a33ba90c_z.jpg

The wait time was posted at 30 minutes, but we figured it wouldn't take this long and hopped in line.

33025388955_000fa1a9aa_z.jpg

I have to say, I am super spoiled when it comes to waiting in line. Very rarely do I wait in line, as we usually do all fast passes. Fortunately, the wait wasn't too long.. but it was pretty close to 30 minutes.

33025386975_a9b239ca51_z.jpg

I'm pretty sure one of my favorite parts of The Great Movie Ride is seeing the costumes in the waiting area. I remember when they had one of the dresses from Gone with the Wind! It was beautiful in person!

Up next it's going to be a whole bunch of pictures with minimal words... sorry for the lack of commentary (that's rare for me!).

32869927192_cd900d651b_z.jpg

This part has always been my favorite part, except for when we get the takeover scene in here. I'd much rather it be the western scene... because fire... duh.

Oh, and then the alien part. This used to terrify me when I was a kid. Now I realize how silly of a fear I had of that alien. Don't judge me. lol.

32899005811_bb2c71132e_z.jpg

You know, as I'm doing this TR I realized I have never actually seen Indiana Jones. I guess I'll have to change that. Once again, don't judge me. :p

32869917092_f96d4796a7_z.jpg

After that scene, we got our boring Tour Guide back. I definitely like the narration they added, but this girl still interjected her own commentary.

We went ahead and checked in, and were seated pretty much immediately.

Our server brought our drinks and some rolls before we ordered... and let me tell you, these rolls were AMAZING.

32869898782_02def13670_z.jpg

For years I have heard my mom and dad, as well as the good people of the disboards talking about the infamous Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby... so I decided to get one sans avocado, and tomato.

32869897602_e265934af6_z.jpg

Unfortunately, I was not really a fan. It was okay, but I think I'm too picky to eat salad dressings I'm not used to.

Overall, the Brown Derby is awesome... but we had a TERRIBLE server. I'm sure she wasn't happy we all ordered salad, and no alcohol. Plus it was Christmas, and who wants to work on Christmas... but don't take it out on me!

After lunch, we walked to see One Man's Dream.

They had a huge line to meet Moana, which was pretty cool. I also haven't seen it yet, because I have no time for anything. lol.

All caught up! I saw a few cousins through law school so I understand the delays. Good luck on the convincing of the parental units for Pandora opening. We actually arrive opening day :)

I was wondering where you'd been! I have friends who went through law school so I understand to a point.
Did you happen to have any time last week to watch The View? They were broadcasting from AK and on Thurs. went behind the scenes into Pandora and now I'm way more excited to experience it!!

I'm pretty sure one of my favorite parts of The Great Movie Ride is seeing the costumes in the waiting area. I remember when they had one of the dresses from Gone with the Wind! It was beautiful in person!
Me too and I remember the GWTW dress; one of my favorite movies

You know, as I'm doing this TR I realized I have never actually seen Indiana Jones. I guess I'll have to change that. Onc
It's been years since I've watched any of the Indiana Jones movies and I've tried unsuccessfully to convince my boys to at least watch the first one. I think I heard a rumor they're making another one?

I definitely like the narration they added, but this girl still interjected her own commentary.
I don't like it with the narrator :snooty: He's from TCM and I keep forgetting his name; I like him on the channel-he also just passed away recently. I feel like the narration takes away from the ride even though you didn't always have a great CM guiding you.
