Stormalong Bay Slide questions

Hi there- We just booked a vacation at the YC and we are all so excited to use the pool! We had an unfortunate experience at an off-site resort last year that had a big slide and a height requirement that my son just about made. Some lifeguards let him on and some did not- so close that it was a judgement call. Just kinda annoying b/c he never knew what would happen until he got to the top.

Does the big Stormalong Bay slide have a height requirement and if so, what is it? Also, my daughter is younger and quite a daredevil but wears arm swimmies. I read that you cannot go down with lifevests, but are the arm swimmies OK?

Thanks,
Lorraine

Last year, my then 2 year old, went down the big slide (Flying Jib) with swimmies on, no problem. We were reluctant to let him, the thing is huge, but he loved it and went on like 20 times!

My wife walked him up and I waited at the bottom.

I think there may be some requirement as the slide lets off in the deep end of the pool. The child going down must be a good swimmer. My DH took our 7 yr old DD on it numerous times so *I* didn't get to see the sign that would inform you of the height or anything~Hopefully someone else might have that answer for you?

Good luck and enjoy your trip!!!:goodvibes

Yeah, I would have assumed that too, but it's not true at all, as my previous post explains.

You can wait right at the rope barrier at the bottom of the slide to scoop up your child. :-)

That's good to know about the arm swimmies as my younger DD (almost 6) can't swim but would love to do the slide when we go in 4 weeks :thumbsup2 Thanks for the info! :)

I think it depends on who the lifeguard is.Last year when I went they refused to let me niece down in swimmies. They told me she had to be able to swim without them. Then towards the end of the very same trip, the lifeguard let her down in her swimmies:confused3

OT: how long is the line for the slide, on a typical hot & sunny day?
