Storm Track - Storms that may effect WDW

There is a new storm in the Eastern Atlantic. It is Tropical Storm Isabel. As of right now, it is projected to possibly effect the US by next weekend. I'll keep updating it's position.

Can someone explain this to me??? We are leaving on the 14th, and will arrive by the morning of the 16th in Orlando (at the latest - we are going to try and arrive on the 15th). I checked accuweather.com, and their 15 day forecast looks like we will have quite a bit of sun, but the temps are what are confusing! The temps are in the upper 70's and a few days in the upper 60's, but the nights are expected to go down to the upper 40's?? Do we need to bring more pants, jeans, sweatshirts, etc??? I am just not sure what to pack, as everything I have packed now is mostly tank tops, tshirts, shorts, etc. I always thought it was hot and humid in September (not that I'm complaining, I just need to know what to bring!). And, when are they predicting that Isabel would hit Florida (or are they?). I'm clueless when dealing with the hurricane stuff. Any advice for me?

THere is NO way that it'll be in the upper 40's anywhere in Florida in September. I'm afraid it'll be nice, hot and humid.

Just FYI....

About that "Accuweather" extended 15-day forecast. The same thing happened to me the other night. I was looking at the 15 day forecast, and the weather suddenly took a dramatic change when I went to the "Next 8 days" option. I then realized that Accuweather is a "Paid" service (for some of their features), and the forecast was a "sample" of what is available with paid service.

It happens every once in a while when you click on that "Next 8 days" link - so check back and I bet it will change.

Would be nice if, this far in advance, they REALLY KNEW where Isabella is headed. But they don't.
It may hit Florida--it may not.

During my September 1999 (dates below) trip, Hurricane Floyd did shut down the parks. They sent a lot of Cast Members home to get their families safe. While others helped keep guests calm in their rooms. I was staying at Shades of Green, the parks were closed on Sept 13 with limited access to resort guests only on the 14th and only to certain parks there.

September 2001 Trip. 2 years later, same week as before. As I was getting myself and my 2 children ready for a day in the park at All Star Movies, I walked over to my in-laws room on the opposite side of the building. My then husband looks at me as i enter their room and says " A plane just crashed into one of the twin towers." Upon watching that, within the hour Disney had again closed the parks. Nobody was allowed to leave the resort hotels. Noone checking in. Noone checking out.

September 2003 Going back. A bit curious to see if Disney will close again. I will be there the 12-21st. I am willing to go again in hurricane season. I hope for the best though.

This is a good reason never to stay at the same resort twice! With being stuck at your resort, you take time to experience the little things it has to offer.

Lets hope for the best. Which would be beautiful weather and for us all to be safe!

Wishing it was Friday already!

FYI,

I have made what will probably be my last update to this thread since I am going to be busy packing for my trip tomorrow. If someone else wants to take over and start updating, I am getting the latest Hurricane information from this page.
