Hi I just takled with Member Services and Storm Along Bay will be completely closed Jan. 3 - March 21 for renovations.

Thanks for posting this. I had ressies for BCV for Feb, but just switched them to BWV. MS confirmed that Stormalong would be completely closed to me also.

I guess that means we won't be able to pool hop

over to the SAB during President's week.;)

Wellllllllllllllllllllll, at least they won't be able to nab me for sneaking in from BWV during that time ;) ;) ;) ;) ..........

Ahem...does that mean all those BCVers are going to POOLHOP to MY BWV pool? ;) ;)

BTW, it was cool at times last week at WDW, and when I went past SAB on a couple of occasions, there was hardly anyone there. I was VERY tempted to try to take the kids there, but I'm too honest. :) It WOULD be nice if they let people poolhop there, except for when it actually IS too busy.

Just wondering if DVC or WDW are notifying people that have reservations during that time period.
I think there will be a lot of

going on after they get the news.

I'm bummed now....we have ressies for BCV in February!! What do you all think, is it still worth staying there? Thanks!

The only advantage of BCV is SAB as far as I am concerned and Disney knew that when they decided to restrict hopping there to prop up sales. I do hope that if they are planning to let all the YC and BC and BCV guests use Luna Park Pool during the rehab (a common thing they will do during pool rehabs-when Luna Park was closed all Boardwalk guests were welcome to use SAB) I hope that they will be sure to restrict poolhopping to BWV by any others when I am there in January -if it si warm enough to swim that is...

Can I climb over the fence and pool-hop during renovations? Will there be enough water in the pool at the time? What about towels?

There was a previous post that only the section around the slide was being done- I can't imagine they'd close the whole pool for two 1/2 months. Can anyone confirm it's the whole pool?

I can imagine they would close the whole pool. If renovations are required there is no better time to do it than January. And better to go whole hog than piecemeal.

And...between the 3 structures aren't there 3 quiet pools? So for swim purposes there are still pools available. For theme pool purposes there is Luna Park.

I'm not a BCV owner but I can see one other reason to own there. Being able to roll down the hill to Epcot. Its the perfect place to own for an Annual Pass holder.

I would not think they would notify individuals just as they would not let one know that Test Track was closed. Most know, or should know, that rehabs happen at WDW and the resorts and that one may be unlucky enough to be there when the thing you want most is closed. I'd still stay at BCV but I think BWV would be a better but similar choice when SAB is closed.

:( We booked the BCV for 5 nights for our nieces honeymoon. in Feb.They were counting on SAB to be open. They could not afford to go there on there own.Now we have to tell them.Oh well it happens.
Take it the quiet pool will be open.
Will the spas be closed as well?
It may make for one crowded BW pool and quiet pool.
Well maybe it will be so cold they wouldn't want to swim anyway. It is their honeymoon.

I really enjoyed my BCV stay last month. I actually spent more time swimming in the BCV's quiet pool than I did in SAB. Since SAB closed at 8 PM every night of my stay, by the time my daughter & I made it back to our resort, it was well past that time. Our only swimming choice was a quiet pool (of which the BCV's was the closest). It is a great resort. I am sorry to hear that the pool will be closed for almost three months. Hopefully they'll be able to get the work done quicker. By the way, I didn't see any notice of this posted on the DVC's Members Only website. I wonder when they will post it?

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

Has anyone heard exactly what they are doing? Are they changing / adding / deleteing anything?

There are two slides. However they both come out of the pirate ship. Is this what will be closed?

We own at OKW & were thrilled to get BCV in a 7 mo. window for mid-March. Nothing was said at the time of booking, about renovations at SAB & I don't expect to be notified now.

Several years ago, I requested to be close to Hospitality House at OKW & was happy that our request was honored. But one day after check-in, the entire main pool was closed for renovations & soon thereafter, the playground by the main pool was closed. I remember telling the CM that I would not have requested HH if I knew this & got a stock WDW response.

About a wk. ago, DH saw information that only the slides at SAB will be closed & I hope it's true, but we'll deal w/ whatever pools we get. We are not big pool people & I had started planting the idea w/ DSs that I wanted to take advantage of SAB while we were at BCV. I guess I'll save my breath. (I'm sure DSs would say that I should save my breath more often)
