Stores that sell XL zip lock bags? Like big enough for a 20 pound turkey?

I saw them online at amazon, but no guarantee they would be here before thanksgiving.... anybody know of any chain stores that carry them?

Pretty much any grocery store, Walmart, etc. will sell them. The big ones they sell will be plenty big enough for a 20 lb turkey.

I found them at Stop & Shop and Home Depot.

Sometimes they are in the area with clothing storage boxes, as a lot of people use the really large ones to store linens, etc.

Target usually has them with the regular size Zip-Loc bags. Are you brining a turkey?

I bought a brining bag that I think will work better because it is deeper and more narrow. They have them at Bed Bath and Beyond, Whole Foods, etc. for about $4.99.

We get them at Meijer and they are with all the other Ziploc bags.

OK, thanks, all! :thumbsup2

I guess I never noticed because we buy the zip lock bags in bulk at Costco, and they don't sell anything larger than 1 gallon bags.

I've gone looking a few times for these to use when packing for trips. Target usually has the best supply/selection (in the same area as regular sized baggies).

What I can't seem to find anymore are the 2 gallon Ziplocs. I can get cheap ones with the single zip seal, but the double seal is much better to secure our powdered products.

Is this to cook in or to store your turkey in the fridge for later? I'm not sure the Ziplocks are for the oven. I wanted to do boil-in-bag cooking and the Ziplock website said temperture-wise they will melt.

You might have to get the Reynolds oven roaster bags. (Or called something like that.) I would think they'd make them extra large for turkeys. I've used a few to put holiday gift baskets in and then tied the tops with a ribbon. They would be in the aisle next to the aluminum foil & plastic wrap. :)

LOL. I've never thought of putting a turkey into a ziploc bag. Why would you be doing this?

I have 2 gallon bags which are great for pies, but I don't know if a turkey would fit into that.

I have these JUMBO ziploc bags that are meant for clothes & junk storage. Honestly never thought of putting food into them since they are BIG!

I'm curious what you want it for. Yeah, please do NOT cook in a ziploc bag.

Williams-Sonoma has them specifically for Turkeys. They are called Brining Bags.

Please. No reasonable person would think you could cook in a polyethylene bag!:rotfl2:
