I think I want a Pandora bracelet for my birthday but I want to try one on in person, see the beads, see how it feels etc.

What stores (not online) sell Pandora? I am in Massachusetts if that helps.

Also, for those that have a Pandora bracelet, are they heavy or bulky?

I have a bracelet from Silpada I love but it is so heavy I don't wear it often.

Also, I have freakishly small wrists (I am often told to get a child's size bracelet), does Pandora come small?

Where in MA are you? There's a small jewelery shop in Sturbridge that sells the bracelets and beads called Garieri Jewelers. Hope this helps!

Go to the Pandora site and under store locator for MA you will find about 80-100 different towns listed that have stores that sell Pandora bracelets. From gift shops to jewelry stores to there own Pandora Stores. There is a Pandora Store in our local mall.:goodvibes

I have small wrists also. The bracelets come in different sizes. You will want it to be a little loose so that you have room for the beads to hang a little bit. I have quite a few beads and don't feel as if it is bulky when I wear it.

Have you also checked out the Chamilia bracelets? I initially thought I wanted Pandora, as my friends had Pandora, and that's pretty much all I had seen, but then did a comparison online, and liked the Chamilia beads better. Just a matter of personal choice, but I was glad I did the comparison, as I love my Chamilia bracelet! The Chamilia/Pandora beads are usually interchangable, so it may not matter which actual bracelet you get, but some don't fit on the other.

I also have noticed in our area (RI/southeastern MA) that many stores will do a special several times a year (Christmas, Val Day, Mother's Day, etc) where you purchase 2 Chamilia beads and get the 3d for free, or you purchase 2 beads and get the bracelet free. Not sure if Pandora does this.

The bracelets are great! And it simplifies shopping for DH & DS's - I just keep the little bead catalog (available from the store) and circle the ones I already have and check off the ones I would like to add! I still get surprised, as I don't know which one they chose to buy, and there are no returns to worry about later!!!:goodvibes

How do they look? Are they the same size?

here is the chamilia website http://chamilia.com/

I personally like them better, as they appear less bulky and have a more feminine appearance to them. I like the choices in beads better, also. Again, it's personal choice and opinion, but a reason to do some research first before you start. You can check on both websites to find local stores where each is sold - I think if a store carries one brand they cannot carry another, tho. So, it will involve some legwork.

Also, you might want to try some on, to see how they look and feel on your wrist if you are concerned with size, weight and bulkiness. they really aren't hard to find - tons of stores carry them now.

Thanks. I'm going to look at Pandora today and Chamilia maybe tomorrow. I want to check them both out and see which I like better. Thanks!

Chamilia is sold at the World so they have Mickey charms. Some Pandora collectors are purest and don't want any Chamilia. I say it is your bracelett do what makes you happy. There are several reputable sellers on Ebay that I have bought from. It's not as much fun now because buyers will bid up to and past what you can buy from your local store. The trick is to do a detailed search to get your search so you don't have all the knock off wasting your time. My local store will have a special where you buy beads and get a free bracelet that is a claw hook and you can up grade for $15 ever so often. :cake: Happy 'Day!!

Pandora is now sold in the Yankee Candle Flagship store in South Deerfield, if you're anywhere near there.

Op I started my pandora braclet for valentines day. It's about 4 beads short of being full. I don't like bulky beads so I choose the smaller ones. I have 1 chamilia bead on it, they fit just fine.

I would check both lines before starting, I like pandora.popcorn::

Have fun.:) I will try to post a picture.

I have a Pandora bracelet and I bought a few of the Disney Chamilia charms for my bracelet. They fit just fine. My neighbor down the street has the Chamilia bracelet and she mentioned that hers has broken twice. My Pandora has held up pretty well for me so far.

I Love my Pandora and after not finding a Disney bead I started adding a few Chamillas to the mix. If it helps to know Pandora has great customer service policy's. Once a bead became stuck on one of the threads and my jeweler (before they opened mall stores this was the only place I found them) was able to give me a new bracelet and bead on the spot. They just mailed back the stuck set for their reimbursement.

If you go with Pandora start with a non-pandora store and ask if they have a special coming up. The three places I now buy from all have a "Buy so much get a free bracelet" special once a quarter or so. I always take them up on the bracelet! Once I had two for my arm I asked for the longest size they had. When clicked together they made really pretty necklaces to feature three or five beads!

I have a pandora bracelet and found that the local stores to me have run a special in September that if you spent $100. on pandora beads you would get the $35. bracelet for free. You could then upgrade to the $50. bracelet for $15. And you could pick which size bracelet that you wanted. This special was offered the past 2 Septembers, so I wonder if it will be offered again this year.

I do have to say that now that my bracelet is full it is a little heavy compared to other bracelets that I wear.

On advantage of the Chamilla braceletes is that the locks on a Chamilla will go anywhere - so if you have three beads or four beads, you can lock it tight. The Pandora locks only go certain spots, so you either end up with beads sliding or need the right quantity (size) of beads.

Brighton is now also carrying a similar charm bracelet.

Chamilia does this also. I had a small stone come off the charm, and it was replaced by the jewelry store owner on the spot, who then mailed it back for his reimbursement.

I think, as you've probably already discovered on this thread, each company has a very loyal following! Soooo - do your research, make your choice and ENJOY!!! Whichever one you choose, you will love adding memories to your bracelet over time!!:goodvibes

Hi,

I am in Southeastern MA not far from the RI line and my local store keeps a running tab and after you buy 5 Chamilia charms you get the 6th one free all the time!

I just purchased a pandora bracelet for my DD(21)'s birthday. We also got her a charm to start off with and so did her sister. They mentioned something about purchasing "clips". Being new to this, I have a question...are these something you have to have on her bracelet? I'm hoping that she will be able to get some of the charmilia charms for it as well.

Can I ask which store? Is it at Emerald Mall? I live in northern RI, and usually shop in your area. TIA!

Thanks everyone! I tried on a Pandora and a Chamilia band and preferred Pandora. I created my wishlist and I have my fingers crossed. Thanks!
