stopover - do I have to get luggage?

so if I am flying Orlando-Chicago-Toronto and have to switch planes in Chicago do I have to go and pick up my luggage and go through customs in Chicago?? Or do I do this in Orlando?? I haven't done a stop-over before.

No worries.

You just check your loggage in Orlando and it will meet you in Toronto.You will go through customs in TO as well.

As long as you are not switching airlines you do not need to get your luggage.
