You know, if you make a "true" statement, but you know that people will draw inferences from that statement, and you know the inferences are unsubstantiated, you are guilty of deception if you don't correct the misinterpretation.

the perception is that the administration took us to war against Saddam Hussein because of his involvement with Al Qaeda and 9/11 as well as thethreat of (nonexistent) weapons of mass destruction. I don't see anyone in the administration trying to correct the "misperception".

Aren't there posts in this very thread showing Bush and Cheney both doing just that? Aren't they pointing out yet again that there is a connection between Iraq and Al Queda, but not between Hussein and 9/11?

The WMD either "no longer exist" because Hussein destroyed them with no verification, or they are "as yet not located" because he hid them so well, or transported them out of the country. The U.N., however certified that the WMD existed before he kicked out the first set of inspectors. To say the WMD were/are "nonexistent" is simply not true.

Hey, don't blame me for some people's inability to understand links between Iraq and Al-Queda didn't man Iraq planned 9/11.

So, again, if I tell you your next door neighbor hangs out with the neighbor across the street and the neighbor next door gets arrested for embezzlement at work, would you logically conclude the neighbor across the street planned it?
