Stop & Shop deal on gift cards...sort of

Just FYI .I was shopping at my stop & shop this morning and picked up a $50.00 Disney gift card and got my $10.00 Catalina .the cashier who I always see and talk to when I am there was telling me the gift card promo is in nexts week ad to for fathers day weekend .

Actually pretty much of the GC kiosk was still really full. tons of disney GC there. anyway i got 4 to try got in line told the ashier i needed to each separately and when the catalina coupon printed to use it for the next card. he did and i was able to get all 4 no issues. going to go back tomorrow and get some more.

Went to my S&S today, there is a sign on the CG kiosk that says "limit of one coupon per transaction / per household. Also, when I got to the cashier it didn't spit out the catalina. I thought it would at the end of the order, so I waited until cash out and it never did. So I went to the service desk, and she gave me a SS gift card for $10 so at least I don't have to worry about expiration.

Will likely try at another store tomorrow.

Just FYI: I just called Disney Reservations and asked what would happen if, after paying for my reservation with gift cards, we ended up having to cancel our trip. I was told that I needed to hold onto the gift cards and they would be refunded to the same card.

I went to my Shoprite today. They don't carry Disney gift cards

I decided to buy Shell gift cards instead, since I will always need more gas. I was able to get the cashier to ring out two gift cards as separate transactions and both generated the coupons. I did not try to use the coupons, since she said that they cannot be used towards gift cards. I went back into line again 2x to buy groceries and used the coupons for those. The coupons showed up as 1.50 off instead of $10, so the manager needed to come over and override both times.

I will be back tomorrow to try again.

Yes, I had the same problem with it scanning as -1.50 , instead of 10$ and the manager came over and changed for me also.

I just returned from my Martins Grocery store here in WV (like the Giant store in PA). I had no problem buying 3 more $50 Disney GC and got my 3 coupons. While I was there I used my 2 coupons from my earlier visit for some grocery items I needed. Probably wil go back again tomorrow. While my first store had a ton of Disney GC, the second store only had a few, but they at least had the $50 ones. I had no problem using my Disney Visa for the purchases either.

To the poster who said their store only had $25 Disney GC, you can just buy 2 of those, and you will get the $10 coupon. I have done this, bought 2 $25s before, and it worked.

I have to go tomorrow and get $800 more in Lowes cards. Time to order the new frameless shower door.

I used the $10 coupons towards the purchase of more $50 gift cards...10 different times today. One cashier questioned whether the coupon could be used towards another gift card, but the guy she checked with (and he checked with someone else) said to go ahead. It scanned at the register every time without issue. I say try it...it should work.

This worked for me also. S&S I went to Friday night would not let me use the $10 towards another GC. Went to a different S&S Saturday and walked right up to the register with a $50 Disney GC, my $10 coupon and $40 and they took it no questions asked. I also got another $10 coupon. We went right back to the rack of GC and got another $50 Disney GC and went right back and did the same thing. That was enought for this day but still have a $10 coupon and plan on heading back and getting a few more.

Also, the date the coupon expired on the one we bought on Friday was 6/15 - one week later. The date the coupon expired on the one we bought on Saturday was 6/16 - one week later.

Just wanted to mention that our coupon from yesterday expires 6/17, so it looks like it might be generating 7 days to use it from the day you get it....lets watch and see.

My S&S only had the $25 Disney gift cards and between my husband and I we got $500 worth. Is there anyway to get all gift cards put onto one? I hate to travel with 20 gift cards.

I tried combining gift cards last year and didn't have any luck. I ended up charging everything to our room and waiting until the last night of our trip to pay off the balance with all of the gift cards. It took about 15 mins and was well worth the 20% discount.

I had no trouble buying Amazon GCs at Stop and Shop yesterday. Got a $10 catalina all 4 times i tried.

Decided to drive to Shop & Stop today, since my Shoprite doesn't carry Disney gift cards. They only had $200 worth, but I bought them all and proceeded to buy $50 worth of groceries. No problem with having the cashier split them into multiple transactions, but I didn't ask to roll the coupon into the next card.

I was able to buy a $50 Amazon card using my $10 Catalina from a prior purchase this afternoon. Woo-hoo! (Although I have a feeling it may depend on the cashier---I smiled sweetly and said, "I'm not sure this will work, but could you just try it for me?") Or, I have a feeling they may tighten the rules a bit more. My store now has a more restrictive sign than it did on Saturday. It now says one "one per transaction, per household." I take that to mean if you want to buy 10 gift cards, you've got to go through line 10 times. I wish I could afford to buy tons, because a 20% savings is great. I hope to be able to swing a bunch more Amazon cards for my daughter's textbooks this semester.
