Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Lisa, I love the picture of you guys in the mirror on the Pooh ride. I had to look at it a minute to figure out what exactly it was a picture of!

It sounds like you guys have really been on the bad end of the weather lately. It's rained a lot up here (the baby got away from me and sat in a mud puddle at the two older kids' soccer games yesterday  - talk about a mess), and I've been complaining about it. But when I look at your pictures, I realize I'd better just shut up and be happy that we're not in the same state you guys are!! Maybe I'll just hum a happy little tune instead of complaining....its a world of laughter, a world of tears..... ;) I have to show your pictures to DD, by the way. She'll love them.

Have a good weekend!

Sorry.....NOT! At least you had a little Disney in your head while working. I've been meaning to ask you what kind of law firm you work in.

Oh and tell your co-worker that I hope her daughter gets well soon.

A very large one (2nd largest in Chicago and I forgot what number we are in the country); we do corporate, banking, real estate, healthcare, labor, insurance, immigration...the list goes on and on.

That makes me glad to work for my lone doctor. I'm sure Lisa will say the same thing in her atty's office. There are advantages and disadvantages for big and small.

How is Mark and Markie?

How is Mark and Markie?

Mark in a lot of pain...MRI canceled until Wednesday (and they may still have to do catscan instead of MRI); Markie got his cast off and may be able to wrestle. We finally got police report for accident...and he is picking up a rental car tomorrow (his car was hit from behind and the impact was so hard that the car was pushed into a telephone poll...therefore, damage to the back--no window, back left rear end with major damage and the front damaged--cannot steer car).

Prayers are with you and your boys. I hope it all works out for Markie. I'm sure they don't want to do a myelogram on Mark because of the stints. It requires a dye also.

Austin did get some good news yesterday. He got an acceptance letter from Southwest Baptist University for the Business program. And the Board of Trustees Scholarship for $7500 each year for 4 years. It is a very good private Christian college with a really good 5 year Masters program in Business. He is wanting to go into the international field. It is in a small town about 20 miles from his house so he can commute. He is still wanting to go see MU in Columbia, Mo Univ in Kansas City and William Jewell in Kansas City. Also Drury here. Those stinking private colleges are high. He can go just for tuition at MU in Columbia. But would need room and board so the coast is about the same. He is now getting anxious to scope out the schools so he can decide. Football is over. It was so happy/sad last night watching them lose and knowing no more football. Andrew says he is sticking with soccer. So at least we get 2 more years of that.

Great for Austin. And he should look at a few to be sure he is going to be happy with the one he picks. Andy looked at three schools and Mark three. Unfortuantely, Mark was not happy at his first choice and transferred after the first year (and, hence, five years instead of four!). Yes, Private schools are outrageous in their prices. It cost us almost $10,000 more a year for Andy as he went to a private school.

I just love It's A Small World! Thanks for all the great pictures! I'm so grateful that my kids like that ride too...it really wouldn't make too much of a difference if they didn't, I'd still make them ride it....but it's nice that they appreciate the classics!

Your posts were cracking me up...and yes...I was still singing! :goodvibes

That skeleton is just plain creepy. And that river is scary as well. I hope all stays dry for you.

Love the outdoor pics around your office and house. It's so nice to see green! Everything here is dying! Some of the trees are still pretty, but most of them are just bare.

That is pretty much what Sheri is finding out for sure. We have a good university here but their business program is not that well rated. The one at SBU is in the top 10 of small schools. And there are lots of scholarships he can apply for. They just gave him that one based on his grades/act. And of course that is what grandma and grandpa are sticking around for. Helping out those boys so the can get the education they want. I may never get to quit my job. :rotfl: He has that $1000 A+ scholarship too. He just needs to do his tutoring next semester. He already has all the community service stuff done and the recommendations. That would help with books and incidentals. He really was trying for the Bright Flight program. You need a 3.89 point average and his has been 3.85. That doesn't include his grades for this year so it might get better. How can it not when he is taking meal management and cake decorating?

Just getting caught up, thank goodness we have down time at work! Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! LISA AND ALL FRIENDS!!!

WISHING YOU ALL SAFE AND HAPPY FUN TONIGHT!!!

Ginny~ congrats to Austin!!on the scholarship
Kathy~ glad to hear things are falling into place for Markie and that is a shame it is taking so long for things for Mark to find out what is causing his pain:hug:
Bethislucy:cool1:~Congrats on the weight loss!! did it twice now and need to do it again...first time I bought an entire new wardrobe (that was fun--I hate to shop but every payday I loved shopping for a new outfit; then after I had Ashton I lost 40#'s while I was pg (goes to show you my body thought I was wayyy to big:rotfl: ) Now, I'm back to where I started before I was pg...need to find something to motvaite me, again!!!
good Luck with the rest!!!:goodvibes

Lisa,~Thanks you for the update of IASW what fun and happiness to sing with the little ones!!! great photo update, as well!! hope the water starts to receed before the spring!!! if not ya'll are going to need piroge's to get around instead of cars:eek:

:wave2: Connie

Looks like the rain is getting dangerously close, hopefully it will start to recede before it causes problems. We hopefully won't send any your way - I think it is going to be dry here all week...

Thanks, Connie. It's great that they got Markie a rental car. Now, we have to hold our breath that they decide to "fix" his car. If not, we'd get the depreciated value of his car which is about $1100-$1200 and then he is back to being without a car, and we'll probably have to take him mine as we just can't afford to get him one right now.

Thank you for taking the time to post this awesome trip report. You take great pictures. I am getting ready for my first ever trip to Disney next April. I can't wait!!!!

Julie

I'm with Ginny, now that song will not get out of my head. I am finally caught up again. I love all of your pictures. The outdoor pictures are great. Dale fusses at me when I take my camera out on IaSW or Pirates. He says he hates it when flashes go off when he is riding these rides and he thinks I shouldn't do it :sad2:. It is funny that Hunter said "Not again". Dallas and Dale say that to me all the time. We were at Cordova mall yesterday and I had to go when we got to the mall and then when we were leaving, Dale, Dallas and Tyler all three said at the same time "NOT AGAIN".......:lmao:. Men just do not understand.

UGH! My TR got closed again. Hopefully they will re open it. I went to post more pcis from my trip and it was closed. The last post was only a few days ago too, so not sure why it was moved to completed TR's.

I don't know if I updated here or not, but Skip had his hip replaced last Monday. He came home Wed. and is dogin pretty good. he's bored and antsy, and can't wait to get back to work. He's been not too bad, thank goodness. Knock on wood, of course! LOL!

Love the pictures. I can't beleive how close that water is to the road parts of the bridge. Super scary!
We got a bit of off and on rain today, but it's supposed to get harder as the day goes on. But 70 degrees. but tomorrow the rain leaves and the temp drops to mid 50's.

I have more pictures to post of the river. Just have to get them uploaded.

I have started packing some of the bathroom stuff. I'm pretty much limited on my clothes, I'm losing weight so I don't have a lot that fit well and I don't want to buy more yet because i want to lose more weight and plus I want to have the extra $$$ for disney. lol you know how it is just put a belt on as long as I can buy a new donald duck mug.

Congrats on the weight loss! I had lost some weight before our 2008 trip (due to stress) and I just put a belt on too. The clothes fit me perfectly on our 2009 trip!

I have hummed that song all night and morning and now it's back. Thanks a lot. And thank you for that kind comment about me not being my mother. That does mean a lot to me. So when the girls start telling me I am just like her I will tell them I have it on higher authority I'm not.

I would say that is a holly bush because that is what they look like in my neck of the woods. But for you Southerners. I'm not sure.

I love all of your pictures. We are beginning to feel just like you with water everywhere. We have a community lake (it's really a pond) has over flowed it's boundries. There is a leak in it and every summer it gets pretty low. This was the first year it didn't because of all the rain we have had.

Have a good day and good weekend.

You can absolutely tell your girls that I (and other Disers) know for a fact that you are a much much nicer woman that your mother!

I can't really tell what the tree/bush is with the red berries. Our holly bushes usually have stickers on them. I think I'll show it to my mother and see if she knows.

I took more pictures of the river and hope to post them today.

:3dglasses

I lost weight almost 2 years ago. Don't buy new clothes too soon wait until your body settles into a happy place. I bought new things a bit too soon I thought I was done with weightloss but then I lost more. It's expensive to replace a wardrobe! Congratulations on your success!!

Lisa, you are a picture taking nut! You asked if i have been taking pictures on my trip, just a few, I need you here to be our trip photographer. I just always seem to be in a hurry to get to the next place. Just rode TTA again to check on SM progress. Today they are Jack hammering part of the concrete that they poured. Looks like they are laying black drainage pipes I think. Off for more fun.

I would have loved to come along and been the official photographer. I absolutely love taking pictures! My camera hardly ever gets put away.

Thanks for keeping us updated on what's going on in the "world" while we are still slaving away in the "real world".

Thanks for posting those pics, Lisa. The water is awfully close to the bridge. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before! Wow!

Have a good weekend. I'm off to get Mitch Mitch soon and take him to yet another Halloween event. It's totally wearing me out this year, but my baby is having the time of his life!

Love to all! Bye!

The water is still rising! I have more pictures and hope to post them today.

I hope that you and Mitchell had a good time at the Halloween event!

Wow! That water is really high! I enjoyed seeing your pictures. You still have flowers and butterflies! :hippie: Ours have been gone for quite a while now. I would love to have a lemon tree!

I still have flowers all over the place.....marigolds, four o'clocks, zinnas, roses and, of course, my Disney plant.

Yay, I managed to get my pictures to upload to my pre-trip thread! I've just got 2 cave pictures and 2 from my last Disney trip (2004), but it's a start. Anyone is welcome to drop in and say hi! :)

We had a lemon tree on the porch when I grew up in North Carolina, but it's not lemon-growing climate there, so it was just an ornamental plant that never grew a lemon.

I was so busy this weekend that I didn't check in on any of my subscribed reports. I'm coming over to look at your pictures in just a minute!

I had an orange tree that once had over 50 oranges on it (it was a semi-small tree) and not one of them were worth eating. Made me so mad.

Lisa, I love the picture of you guys in the mirror on the Pooh ride. I had to look at it a minute to figure out what exactly it was a picture of!

Because of the flash, you can't see Lacey and I in the mirror. But, like I always say, it was a picture nevertheless.

Oh my! I bet you did, indeed, have a mess on your hands with the muddle puddled baby.

A very large one (2nd largest in Chicago and I forgot what number we are in the country); we do corporate, banking, real estate, healthcare, labor, insurance, immigration...the list goes on and on.

Uggh! I think that the family law practice stinks sometimes but, then, I hear from my friends who work in other type of law offices and they think that it stinks there too!

That makes me glad to work for my lone doctor. I'm sure Lisa will say the same thing in her atty's office. There are advantages and disadvantages for big and small.

How is Mark and Markie?

I totally get where you are coming from Ginny. When you are in a large office, you know there's always somebody to fill in for you but then you get all of that ya-yaing that goes on when you get a lot of folks together. When you are someplace small like you and I, then there's the problem of finding somebody to fill in for you. But, the ya-yaing is limited. Well, unless I want to complain about myself.

I still have all of you in my prayers. It just seems like everything hit you guys at once. I know exactly how exhausting that feels!

Prayers are with you and your boys. I hope it all works out for Markie. I'm sure they don't want to do a myelogram on Mark because of the stints. It requires a dye also.

Hip hooray for Austin! I know all about the "stinking privages colleges" being too high. Lacey's tuition is waaaaay stinking high. Thank goodness she received a grant and can work off part of her tuition by being the Children's Church minister.

I know that you are going to miss the football games. I know that I sure am. It's not just about watching the boys play, it's about the fellowship between the families.

Kathy, Lacey did the same thing. She went to a local college to take all of what she called her "crap" courses. She couldn't stand it there.

I just love It's A Small World! Thanks for all the great pictures! I'm so grateful that my kids like that ride too...it really wouldn't make too much of a difference if they didn't, I'd still make them ride it....but it's nice that they appreciate the classics!

You sound just like me...I'd make Hunter ride it too.

I had the song out of my head over the weekend but now that I am going back and responding to my posts, I've got it in my head again.

Our leaves have started falling. It seems like they turn one day and fall the next. My yard is still bright green though.

Just getting caught up, thank goodness we have down time at work! Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

It's funny because I get most of my Dis reading and responding done while at work. But, don't tell my boss that.;) I hope that you had a great Halloween.

Good morning Lisa. Happy Halloween to you and John and Hunter. Hope Lacey is doing well.

Ginny

Sorry I am delayed in responding. We were pretty busy this weekend.
