Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Have you started a pre-trip report? If so, post the link. I am sure we'd all love to read it.

Yep, I have a pre-trip report started here! The Return of the Wizard and the Cheerful Dwarf

For me, half of the fun of taking a trip is the planning and anticipation. A few years ago I got into a 6-week summer writing workshop that I had thought was a long shot. I was really excited! When the schedule came out and there was a group dinner the first night with a link to the restaurant website, of course the first thing I did was go to the website and think about what I might have for dinner. It occurred to me that this was a little silly since the workshop was still over a month away and the restaurant wasn't really anything special, but it gave me an outlet for some of my excitement and anticipation to imagine having dinner with all these fabulous writers I had yet to meet. Visiting this board is a lot like that--gives me an outlet to bounce off the walls a little bit in anticipation of my trip! :rotfl:

I have been meaning to give a family update. My mother's eye started drooping a little and she had dizziness again. At mine and John's insistence, she made an appointment for yesterday. The doctor said the eye and dizziness had nothing to do with the artery bypass surgery. Said she needed to go to her general practitioner and get something for Vertigo. And, probably have to have plastic surgery on her droopy eyelids. She's been pondering having that done for quite some time now because the droopy eyelids run in the family. Other than that, she has great blood flow in the replaced artery.

Not to sound alarmist or anything, but has the doctor ruled out the possibility of a stroke? If the droopiness of the eye and mouth are on the same side, with the dizziness, it could be a sign of a stroke coming on, or possibly having had a mini-stroke. Does she have other problems on that side of her body, like raising her arm? My grandmother had a mild stroke right after having her corotid artery cleared out, and occasionally that can be a side effect of more blood flow. I'm not a medical person so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but maybe something to ask the doctor. My dad had a massive stroke 17 years ago so I'm maybe a little paranoid about stroke-like symptoms.

Here's a link to a website with stroke info: http://www.stroke.org/site/PageServer?pagename=symp

Morning all! I just have a few minutes but will come back later. Have any of you ordered prints from Snapfish? They sent me an email saying I could get my first 30 prints free and all others would be 9 cents. That's way better than I can get them done here. Just wondering about the quality.

Be back later.

Lisa

I use snapfish, they are good. But they and several other places/sites do add sharpening or color to your pics. Yo ucan turn it off if you wish, which I do. Some like it, but I edit my pics before I load them, so it just messes them up then.
there are several sites that have free photos 25-50 when you sign up. Be aware that some have a time limit to use those free ones up. Usually in a month. Clarkcolor and Yorkphoto are owned by snapfish and also have promotions. I think York is the cheapest one of the 3. but they are all the exact same. Adorama has nice pics and I think you get 50 free with them. Also places like CVS, Walgreens and shutterfly. I have more than one account with some of them with different email addresses.

I have to tell you something cute.
This week is fire safety week and Claire has been learning about it at school and we went to the firestation for a field trip today. Well on Monday she was telling me things about fire saftey and she told me to never play with "Matresses". LOL!:rotfl2:

Hi Lisa! I am so glad I found your TR(better late..very late...than never)! You were kind enough to read my trip report back in May, so I was so happy to see you and your family in your great TR! I have gotten though the first 27 pages so far, and my eyes are getting a little blurry! I was supposed to be having shower, gettting my laundry done and a few other things, but I got pulled into your trip report and I have been reading for 3 hours!:surfweb: I can't wait to continue reading!

I was going to mention that your daughter reminds me of Kirsten Dunst, but I see someone else beat me to it! I will be heading back to WDW in January staying at BWI. Your review and pics of TREX has made me decide we MUST go there this time! If you recall from my TR, we ended up canceling our ADR there. We will be sure to get there in January!

Looking forward to reading more!

Yea! My first photobucket account is back up and running. Thank goodness because the third one now has exceeded it's limits.

Boss went to the courthouse for about an hour so I can write a report. I do have two clients coming in to review paperwork so I may be interrupted.

That IS so funny! Kids say the cutest things, don't they?

Lisa: Sorry to hear that your family is not being very thoughtful when it comes to you and your mother needing to know how BIL is doing. I understand they are busy, most likely, but a short phone call or having someone else make a short phone call, wouldn't kill them. I hope that BIL continues to make progress in getting better.

Sorry you've been so busy lately. I was pretty slammed myself, yesterday, and hoping for a quieter day. Doesn't seem likely, so far. Phones and people all day, no peace and quiet whatsoever. Some days I deal better than others. Yesterday? Not so well. And the people who stop and ask me the nine million questions are not even asking me things that are related to what I do. Am I the information desk in this place? No. But I must look very smart b/c people keep asking me questions! :headache:

I hope you have a better day today and I hope your family knows what a jewel they have in you. They better start appreciating you or they're gonna regret it one day.

You will recall that John and Lacey had decided to rest their behinds in Asia while Hunter and I explored the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We didn't have as much time as we wanted to walk the trail but we were able to see lots of animals and take Hunter's annual picture of the hidden Mickey in the tiger mural and to take a silly picture of him saying a prayer under the prayer flag tree. I found this picture on photobucket that I didn't post. We saw this guy on the trail too:

When we get finished on the trail, I called John to ask where they were so we could meet up. Just as he answered, I looked up and saw them. They were waiting near the home of these two:

Tonight, we had reservations to see the luau and we wanted to get back to the resort and freshen up beforehand. But, we couldn't leave the park without first seeing Festival of the Lion King.

We started to make our way towards Camp Minnie Mickey and realized that the parade was going on. Phooey! We followed the taped off trail and I felt bad because we were walking in front of people who were watching the parade. Some people in front of us were stopping and the parade watchers were getting mad. I don't blame them. I think Disney should make the taped off section behind the parade watchers...not in front of them.:confused3 I snapped pictures as we were walking. I thought they turned out fairly decent considering I didn't even slow down.

In this one, you can see a bit of the line of walkers in front of us (on the left):

This one is pretty bad but I did get a good picture of the back of the little boy's head:laughing::

Finally, we made it to Camp Minnie Mickey:

We immediately got in line for Festival of the Lion King because we knew that a lot of the parade watchers were going to get in line as soon as the parade was over. It's a good thing we did because not 5 minutes after, we could see the line getting longer and longer.

It was so hot and we were glad to see that Disney had the large misting fans going. That is until we stood there a little while. They had the water misting so hard and the fans blowing so hard that our clothes were literally wet by the time the doors opened. I know I shouldn't complain because we could have been standing there without any air.

Anyway, we were shown to the right hand side of the theater about three rows from the front. Let me tell you, the view was absolutely horrible! All we could see was the backs of the people in front of us. After sitting there a few minutes, we decided to get up and move to the back of the theater on the risers. Once we stood up, we saw about 1/3 of the other people on our row do the same thing. We had to sit on the very top row but the view was much better than the other one.

I am warning you right now....I took lots and lots and lots of picture during the show. I was playing around with the settings on my camera to see if I could get better pictures. Some are okay and some are not. If you don't want to see them all, just scroll through them.

I wish I had some music to insert here. For those of you who have seen the show, just hum the tune that's playing while the tumble monkeys are swinging.

Be glad that these are all of the pictures I posted. I could have bored you by posting the rest I have.:lmao:

The show was spectacular as always. Love it! We followed the horde of guests out of the theater and walked towards the front of the park. This is the last picture I took as we walked to the bus stop.

100_2565.jpg

As we were walking down the walkway to the bus stop, we saw that there was a Caribbean Beach Resort bus there but it looked like it was about to pull away. Lacey would have made a run for it but John stopped her. He can't stand to see people run for buses. There's something about it that he just doesn't like. Luckily, we waited only about 15 minutes for another bus to come and were on our way back to the CBR to get ready for the luau!

Loving the update so far! Great Lion King pictures - I feel like I'm right there! And yes, I can hear the tune...:rolleyes1

As always, great pics Lisa. We've never done Lion King or Nemo and they are both high on my list for our next visit.

Great Lion King!! photos (did you know that sometime during your stay they found two snakes in the Lion King theatre--they were under the bleachers--now I do not remember what date it was...I just remember reading it and thinking I hope Lisa and her family were not there! for that choas, one of the performers had seen them while performing--they had to clear the theatre to capture the critters, I had forgot aobut that until I saw your pics)

Good for John with the busses...I don't know why I don't care for the run after the busses either! :confused3 you look like you are in a huge city and in a great big hurry instead of on vacation (I think that's it)

I can not wait to here about the Lauau!! what fun to go to a lauau at Disney!!!!
:wave2:

I love the update! I love the Lion King too. You got some great shots. I love the one of the 3 monkeys sitting. That is super cool.

I wanted to tell you another site to lad pics for posting is picture trail. I think you can only load like 20 before you have to pay, it may be more, but it's been a few years since I went there, but at least theres another spot to load pics for free. I know it doesn't have problems as I have had those pics I loaded on there for 3 years and they still show up. I've also used imagesahck, but that site really sucks. Half the time the pictures just stop working. I am trying to post my TR on Intercot and right now I am at the spot where I loaded to imageshack, and I have to keep going back and redoing pics, because they no longer are working. It's just a blank spot. How frustrating.

Great pictures of FOTLK!! The show looks like so much fun!!! Can you believe we still haven't made it to that show.:sad2: What is wrong with us?:rotfl: Hopefully next time.....

Can't wait to hear about the Luau!! I would love to try either the Luau or the Hoop Dee-Doo Revue next trip.

I so wanted to see Lion King in May and did not get the chance. I love the pictures but I'm not sure how you missed this one.

Thanks for allowing me to tag along.

It was a little scary but I made it thru. I just kept thinking I'm doing this for Hunter, I'm doing this for Hunter. I knew he would like it.
