Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Thanks everyone. It's impossible to find a childs size Marry Poppins dress. last year Claire's dance studio had a class that did a dance to a mary Poppins song and wore that dress. So I asked over the summer if they could order me one and they did. You can't see her boots because the dress is so long, but I found those over the summer too and they are really cute, and big so she can wear them for a few years, most likely. I did the hat (from a couple of Easters ago) with some tool and ribbon and an extra flower that came with the dress. I added ribbon to the dress too. We had the shirt that she is wearing under it too.It was the most I ever spent on a costume, but I did it in spurts so it didn't seem so bad. I was thinking that if my friend could just fold the bottom up and leave the trim, it should be ok. I did it without sewing and it looks OK, but I would never be able to do it right. I'm not sure if taking it off the waist would be easier or not. It's a one peice with a body suit built in since it's a dance costume. I knwo nothing about sewing though. My friend said she can do some basic things, but she made her own wedding dress, so she must have some knowledge.

Now that our tummies are full and the kids have worked off a few calories by dancing like Napoleon Dynamite, it was time to go see how long the wait was for It's Tough To Be A Bug! We got to the line entrance pretty quickly and were glad to see that it was just a 10 minute wait. The castmember said it was probably less than that. We jumped right on in line and I took pictures along the way:

Look! It's a hidden Mickey!

I'm going to throw this one in even though I have no idea what I was trying to zoom in on. :confused3 I bet it was something good though.

We were walking at a pretty good pace so my pictures aren't as good as I wanted them to be. Oh well, at least I got pictures.

When you see these signs you know you are getting close to the sweet blissful air conditioning :rotfl::

Even more pictures:

And the last one before we walked in:

We grabbed our bug eyes and squirmed our way in since the bugs were chippering that we needed to move all the way in. This is when I started fiddling with the settings on my camera again. So, the next few pictures are pretty crappy but a little cool.

My girly girl.....NOT!

The last shot I took before being the last person to walk in the door to the theater:

100_2393.jpg

When we walked in the theater, the only seats that were available were those in the very back of the theater. I didn't like sitting back there at all. You didn't get the stinky stuff sprayed on you, no air in your face, the spiders weren't above your head, nothing! Maybe if you were a first timer and didn't know that all that stuff was supposed to happen to you, it would be okay. Or if you didn't like the effects, it would be okay. I wanted it all! Oh well, we still got to enjoy the 3D part of the show.

When we exited the theater, we moved to the side and let everybody walk ahead of us. While we waited for the crowds to thin out, I did what I usually do......you guessed it......took pictures:

*****I have to stop here because I don't have the rest of our Animal Kingdom day pictures uploaded to my third photobucket account. Let me do that and I'll post more.

Love the date on your pix Lisa. BTW. I did go pro on one photo bucket account. I had 2500 pix in it and since pro I have used 1% instead of having 14% left in the free one. It was 24.95 a year. I have 3 photobucket and 2 snapfish accounts

So, Lisa am I making things up or do I see a hidden mickey on that zoom shot in the middle of its eye! :rolleyes1 and I love the funky one of Lacey and Hunter it came out really neat!!!!

I can't wait to go back and walk through with Ashton this time!!! he should really be excited to see the animals in the tree!!!!

Love the updates! We only went to Rafiki's Planet Watch once even though we've been to WDW 13 times. I'm thinking it's definitely time for a trip back there, especially now that I've seen those cool Hidden Mickeys in the mural.
::MickeyMo That's annoying about Tough to Be a Bug. The best part is all of the effects! Looking forward to more. :)

Another great update! :thumbsup2

Loving all of the Tree of LIfe pics. And the ones with your bug eyes on are so cute. Lacey just makes me laugh! She's such a barrel of fun, just like I knew she would be! :rotfl:

You know, I've never done ITTBAB yet. Wonder why? DNiece didn't like it, so nobody wanted to do it. Um, does the whole world revolve around her? :confused3 I guess it does!

Next time, though, I'm gonna do it. They showed it on that AK show on The Travel Channel on Saturday and I made myself a promise then and there that I was gonna do it, whether I had to go by myself or not! Humph.

I guess I am too cheap to upgrade. ;) I have the space on the third account, I just hadn't uploaded very many pictures to the account.

You know.....that does look like a hidden Mickey. Let's just make a mutual decision and say it is!

I was disappointed that my Tree of Life pictures didn't turn out better than they did. Apparently, there was a lot of sunlight coming through the tree that day.

Even if we did nothing but search for new hidden Mickeys, we would be happy with a trip to Rafiki's Planet Watch. When the park first opened, I think it was called something else.

I was pretty bummed about missing all the effects in It's Tough To Be A Bug! I'm like you....they are the best part.

Great update!

Thanks!

Thanks to you!

Geeshhhhh! With all the stuff going on with Mama, I've forgotten to vote. Give me the link again, please, so I can start voting again.

Another great update! :thumbsup2

I really wish my Tree of Life pictures had turned out better. I think it was a combination of the stupid camera messing up (notice the dates) and light coming through the limbs of the trees.

Lacey is a hoot! Every once in a while, I'll see a tiny glimmer of a girly girl but most of the time....she's just Lacey! I wouldn't have her any other way.:lovestruc And, aren't her eyes super duper blue!

Hunter has always gone in It's Tough To Be A Bug....even when he was just 1. He has never been too scared of the show. When he was really little, I'd put my hands over his ears to keep the noise level down. It's now a "must do" on our touring plan. I agree, if you have to do it all by yourself......do it!

I forgot to comment on the date on my pictures. I bet I took the batteries out of my camera at least four times before taking these pictures....thus, the screwed up dates. Hum....brings back memories from our 2008 trip.

love your AK pictures. You know, if my family could handle the heat a little better, AK would be fun to explore (either that, or I need to go in January!). But my little ones (and DD is not AS little anymore at 8) become whiney, wimpy blobs who don't want to move in AK. We basically rode the dinosoar version of Dumbo (yes, the name is escaping me now) and saw Nemo last fall, then left. I would like to ride Everest, and I REALLY want to see Lion King again. I haven't seen it since 2000, which was pre-kids, and I think they'd love it. We're thinking of a half day on the next trip right now...we'll have to see. What I remember most from that 2000 trip when I last really explored AK) was doing It's Tough to be a Bug with my 25 year old brother. He was in one of the seats that has the rumble strip (or whatever it is) on the bottom of it when it says something about larvae leaving the theatre first (or something like that). I'll never forget him jumping to his feet like someone had goosed him, yelling a few four-letter words that I'm sure the parents that were near us did not appreciate. I laughed so hard I couldn't walk out of the theatre, though!! :lmao:

Oh, I hope they extend the discount dates...for both of us, since it looks like we're headed down the week after you get back! Here's to hoping for a little pixie dust! My TA from AAA seems to think it's still possible that we'll get something...we'll take whatever we can get!

Here are a few pictures of my dancing grandson on the treadmill. These were taken Christmas Eve. For some reason Sheri and I were laying on the bed talking and in comes trouble.

Sorry they aren't better. I was using my cell phone and laughing. He was hard to center. We show part of my lamp shade and lovely angles.

The Tree of Life pics are great! And I like the bug-eye photos....always fun!

We love ITTBAB! Too bad you had to miss all the fun stuff, though. :sad2:

I think I could spend all day exploring that tree and still find things I had never seen before!! :thumbsup2

Good morning Lisa. Hope you have a great day. At least we made it thru Monday. Another gorgeous day in the Ozarks.

Oh, I noticed those beautiful blue eyes, trust me! I meant to remark on them, but I guess I forgot. She looks so much like you, too. Beautiful! :goodvibes

I like that she is as free spirited as she is. So much fun to be around, I'm sure!

I've never sheltered Mitchell from anything, really. If he's tall enough to do it, I put him on it. I don't want him to be scared of everything. Of course, when we went to Six Flags in August, DH's family kept saying they hoped he wouldn't be scared of the roller coasters, and of course he was. This is the child who braved Splash Mountain at barely four years old. But if you mention there's cause to be frightened, then they're gonna be scared! I could have choked them for saying anything.

Of course, my parents and Dsis really baby DNiece. But, since you read my report, you already know that! ;)

Ginny: those pictures of Austin on the treadmill are too funny! :rotfl:

I bet it would be funny to get Lacey and Austin together and Hunter and see what kind of antics they came up with!
