Wow! Great info, Lisa. Thanks for posting.

Gosh, now I'm REALLY wanting to go back! I watched the Travel Channel on Saturday afternoon and they were showing Animal Kingdom. Mitchell just jumped up and down screaming DISNEY!!!! Then asked me when we were going back. For once, I don't have an answer. :confused3 I want to go NOW.

But, I thought about you when that was on b/c we are still on Animal Kingdom in your TR. :goodvibes

I've been following that thread today. Boy is it moving fast! I did the math, JUST in case we do go, and I compared it to free dining. The savings of free dining was only like 50 for POP. I was surprised it wasn;t more, but my math may be wrong. Not that free dining is out, but just in case it does come out. I also compared to the CBR cost and we could upgrade for less than 100. Not sure we will even go, but I it's fun doing the math. I just don't know if I could give up POP. I love it so much. But CBR looks so cool. To be near the pirate pool, what would you request. Is that preferred? I don't think we would do prefer though. We do it at Pop, but if we upgraded I would want to keep costs down more. LOL! I just worry how far away the food court would be though. I don't even know why I am worrying about any of it, there is a good chance with DH's surgery we won't even go.

Ok, I did get Claire's Halloween costume together finally and thought I would post the pics for you all. She is being Mary Poppins.
Her dress is much longer than I want it to be and may see if my friend can do some sort of simple hem.

Napoleon Dynamite is such a good movie. We quote many movies a lot. Our fav now is The Hangover.

It was a gorgeous day to be out. Back to work tomorrow. Ick.

There is also another movie that John and the kids have watched called "Hot Rod" or maybe it's "Hot Rods". It one of those movies that is just as stupid as Napoleon Dynamite. It's another movie that I've only seen bits and pieces of. Hunter does some crazy dance from it too. He puts one hand behind his head and one on his hip and dances. Too funny!

So, I;m on the outside looking in on this movie ND; you keep mentioning?!?
asked Dayne and I quote, "that is what YOU call a brain cell waster movie...but, it sure was "funny"! :lmao: "nothing you would ever see, why do you ask?" so I tell him...he says I bet that was great; really was a funny movie. So, Hunter and Lacey got a big:thumbsup2 from Dayne!!!:cutie:

I'm so happy your mom was able to get out and feel some wonderful sunshine today! That should help her get around alot quicker! Have ya'll received any cooler weather, yet! we are suppose to start cooling off tomorrow night and it is suppose to be almost in the high 50's by Wed morning:cool1:

Have a great evening! Lisa:wave2:

You really need to watch Napoleon Dynamite. It's one of those "it's so dumb and stupid is funny" movies. Ask Dayne if he's ever seen "Hot Rod".

Mama enjoyed sitting outside for a while but I could tell she got pretty tired because she didn't even stick around and watch Hunter play made a huge mudpie out of the spot where we took down the above ground pool.

I'm hoping the temps fall pretty soon around here.

Whew, I was behind by 20ish pages when I left for my trip (stupid work getting in the way of my reading!) and now I'm about 50! This is going to be a lot of reading. At least I have today off (got back home last night) to catch up (and upload pictures, and edit pictures...). I also need to rest a bit. Disney with a 2 1/2 year old (of which I'm not used to chasing around!) is not exactly a restful vacation.

Looking forward as always to reading (and catching up) about your adventures Lisa, as well as everyone else in this thread. It's the only one I keep coming back to :). I will say that I thought of you a couple times and your "gotta pee" moments.

Welcome back! I remember the day when we had a little one in Disney. Hunter was just 1 when we took our first trip. I can honestly say, I don't miss the days or diaper bags, extra clothes, etc. etc. etc.

Please let all of us know when you start your trip report. Gotta have something to keep us busy until we go back again.

Awww, you're sweet to keep coming back and reading my report. We have a lot of fun on here don't we.

That is exactly what we did this year - we will be there 10/24-11/1. We stayed at POP last year and it was amazing! When free dining came out we did the math and it was only $100 to upgrade to CBR since we wouldv'e upgraded the dining anyway. Figured it was a good way to try the moderate but we did love POP! DS cant wait for the pirate pool though - okay and DH. I love your DD costume - so awesome - so impressive!

Sorry for going so far of topic!;)

Jenseib: Beautiful pictures of your baby girl! She's so precious. :goodvibes

Lovin' that Mary Poppins costume!

Hi Lisa!

Glad to hear Mama is home and Hunter is enjoying lovin' on his grandma.

I cracked up laughing at the Napoleon Dynamite reference. We LOVE that movie!! We are always quoting stupid lines from movies too...I'm tellin' ya....we'd be great friends if only we weren't so far away from each other! Oh....Isaiah went as Napoleon one year for Halloween...thought I'd share the pic!

Doing "happy hands"!

We have yet to make it out to Rafiki's. Do you do it on every trip? Is it worth heading back there? I thought it was mainly a petting zoo and that my boys were really too big, but maybe I'm totally wrong! I'd love for you to weigh in!

I am definitely buying the Hidden Mickey book for our next trip. Dan had a great time this past trip and I think it would be perfect for him to keep him interested as he gets older! :thumbsup2

The first thing I am doing when I get home is show Hunter these pictures! I absolutely love them. I'm going to forward them to Lacey too.

We usually do Animal Kingdom at a pretty leisurely pace and try to see and do everything. So, yes, we do Rafiki's Planet Watch every time.

First of all, the place is an absolute gold mine when searching for hidden Mickeys! The walls are covered with huge murals of animals. I bet we spent 20 to 30 minutes just looking for hidden Mickeys. We have met several characters at Rafiki's too.....Jiminy Cricket, Stanley, Pocahontas and Rafiki.

Several times, there have been castmembers out with different animals. We have touched a baby alligator and a humongous boa constrictor. We've seen them doing veterinary work on several different kinds of animals. There's a spot set up for guests to see what kinds of foods they feed the animals. Once, there was a display set up about the balls the tigers play with. Oh and there are sound booths where you go in and put on headphones to hear a narrated story about the sounds of the rainforest.

There is a petting zoo outside but we haven't done that part in years. Probably since Hunter was about 3 or 4.

I have a hidden Mickey book that I bought off ebay several years ago but I have never taken it to Disney with us. Hunter and I are constantly on a hidden Mickey hunt.

Good morning Lisa. Hope things are well for you today and that your mom contines on a speedy recovery. A trip to Hot Springs in a couple of weeks would be ideal. The weather should be wonderful with the leaves starting to turn. I'm sure you all would enjoy that.

Hope you have a grand day.

Ginny

So far, the day has been pretty uneventful. How's your's?

I want to try to rent one of the cabins at Lake Ouachita but they don't have one of the two bedroom ones open. May have to reserve a three bedroom. They are having evening lake tours on the weekends and I think my mother would like that.

Jen, beautiful pix of your Mary Poppins. Whom ever fixes her dress make sure they take it off the waist not the bottom so you won't lose that pretty lace. Since it is all gathered at the waist it won't be hard to do.

Lisa, I'm going to have to post pix of Austin dancing on the treadmill. He was doing the moon walk and several others.

This Friday is homecoming and at the assembly the football boys dress as cheerleaders and do routines. Yes, I will be there to take pictures. If you check out on my TR I have film of a really good tackle he made Friday night (that I was home sick on and missed). It was on a local news station.

Lisa now you have me thinking I didn't give AK a fair shake! We did it the first trip but not the second. I thought it was neat but hot and crowded. We live next to St. Louis which has an AMAZING zoo -we go so often that i certianly wouldn't go to AK for the animals. I will have to go when we go this time since it will be Oct maybe I won't whine about the heat so much! Will have to start looking for hidden Mickey's....

For a Monday it's not half bad. Surprisingly. Not complaining mind you.

I have a relay for life meeting tonight. It seems awfully early to be starting that already. Sheri has even collected money for me for next year already. Such a good girl.

I don't blame you for wanting to go back. Maybe, if you could snag a good deal, you could talk your hubby into going!?!? Worth a shot!

I saw the Animal Kingdom thing the other day too!

I've been watching it too. It moved like greased lightning this morning.

At the CBR, you can request a room near Old Port Royale but it's not guaranteed unless you book a preferred location. I, personally, wouldn't pay the extra money for a preferred location. Seriously, even a room at the furthest point from the main pool has a walk of about 6 or 7 minutes. Not bad at all!

I know how much you would like to take Claire back to Disney. Maybe your husband's recovery from surgery will go super duper smoothly and ya'll can still go.

Ok, I did get Claire's Halloween costume together finally and thought I would post the pics for you all. She is being Mary Poppins.

Isn't Claire just the cutest thing!

You have to post pictures of Austin. Hunter would love to see them. He is always busting some kind of crazy dance move. He might learn a new move or two.;)

I need to go watch the football game link you posted. I usually try to watch videos on my office computer since it seems to move faster than the one at home.

Don't feel bad. The first year we went to Epcot, I came away thinking I had wasted my money! So, all year long, I read everything I could and I talked to friends and family about it. The next year, we loved it. You could be the same way with Animal Kingdom. It's really one of those "you need to stop and smell the roses" kind of parks.

jenseib-ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love it!! Where did you find such a costume?

Lisa, thanks for that update on the discounts!!! Wish I could use it though. Hopefully they will have something out when we go in Oct. 2011!!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!

First of all, never ever worry about getting off topic on my thread. Haven't you realized by now that we talk about all kinds of stuff that have nothing at all to do with my trip.

I think you made a good choice to upgrade to CBR. It's a lot different than Pop but I think you'll still like it.

Jenseib: Beautiful pictures of your baby girl! She's so precious. :goodvibes

Lovin' that Mary Poppins costume!

Aren't the pictures great!

I think Mama just needs to get away for a while....heck, so do I. I start getting all fidgety if we don't do something as a family. It's been almost a month since we went to Canton First Monday flea market. Time for another trip.

Hoping to do a whole lotta nuthin'. Maybe do a little fishing and walking at the State Park. We may go into town and see what's going on.

Congrats to Sheri for collecting money ahead of time!

Jen takes the best pictures and Claire is the perfect subject.

At least you'll have a little one to keep you busy until October, 2011! That's even better than a trip to Disney!

She is a good daughter. It is a perfect weekend getaway. We are going to Oklahoma to the casino for Austin's BD. Teaching my grandson how to gamble. He already knew cause he played slots on the ship. No one asks for his ID.

Hi Missy! great pictures ( I still don't know who ya'll are talking about--sounds like I need to research:surfweb:) we enjoy Rafiki's even before we had Ashton! Love seeing the animals in the vet center and the food refrences all the educationl stuff but in a fun way...I'm a goober like that....but, Dayne, Gwendolyn, and Danny all love it! and I'm sorry we just don't do petting farms; gives me the willies:scared1:

Hi! Jen love the pics of Claire! the costume is GREAT!
for DH's surgery probably figure 12 wks he should be good as new w/no complications! I know if he is anything like Danny at the end of his 2nd/3rd wk he will be wanting to get back to things and by 6 wks someone will need to help you keep him down:rotfl:. But, really between 8-12 wks for someone his age! Danny went back to work light duty (I know you have a farm--what's light duty:confused3--no such thing--Danny was the same) at 5 & 1/2 wks I could not keep him home! he would drive all the way over there (one hour ride) do paper work, catch up w/his peeps and come home by 1pm. I think he just wanted to get away from me!:rotfl2:

Hey! Dee How are you feeling? Isn't it exciting you can feel the baby from the outside, now!:yay::woohoo:
