Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Great update. I did Primevil once and I hated it. I just can;t spin around anymore in my old age. LOL! I wish I would like it. I've only done the teacups once ever too, and that was in 1997. Once was enough for me to know it was YUCK!LOL!

I have some wonderful news I just have to share. My sister cannot have children and her DD who is 5 is adopted....well she just called this afternoon and is on the way home form the hospital with a brand new baby girl! She's been on the list to adopt again for about 2 years, so this is just wonderful news. I can't wait to go see her tomorrow! Her name is Abby Lynn. We are all so thrilled!

Fun update! I'm so sorry you just can't seem to get the Nemo show...not everything is for everyone:confused3 !
I have not ridden the PW...I do not like rollercoasters or things that drop :scared1: esp. things that drop!:eek::scared1::scared1:

But, I love your pictures! I wonder why John sat in the sun:confused3
maybe he needed the light after being in the dark cramped theater! I can't believe how they pack people in:confused3
I made the comment when we were in line for Fantasmic that I would bet that they have cameras laughing at us being herded:rotfl2:
it was funny about 4 people around us started looking in the trees for the cameras:lmao:

Thank you for continuing to share your family fun!
:wave2:

I love the Nemo movie but just can't seem to make myself like the show at Animal Kingdom. Oh well, like you said, not everything is for everyone.

Primeval Whirl is so much fun to me and that's coming from somebody who is so scared of heights.

I have no idea why John sat in the sun. He's really weird like that. We are looking for shade and he's standing or sitting in the sun. Does that at home too. Crazy man!

Wouldn't it be funny if they really did have cameras watching everybody being herded into theaters.

I don't mind the spinning so much....it's heights that I am scared of. But, for some reason, I'm not bothered too much on Primeval Whirl.

Tell your sister CONGRATULATIONS! That is such wonderful wonderful news. Did ya'll have any idea that she was getting a baby today? I wanna see pictures as soon as you have them uploaded.

I guess she was told they were pick a few months ago and new it was a girl. but didn;t tell anyone. She recently told my mom they would get a baby soo (or at least hopefully) so my mom could help out with my neice if needed, but didn't tel lthe sex. She told my mom this weekend, since my mom had to help out while they were gone. My mom told me, though I wasn't supposed to know til ltoday when she called. But she didn"t tell the sex till my mom picked my niece up from school. My sister wanted to tell her first and then the rest of us. I did good and acted surprised about the whole thing and will go to my grave with the secret that mom let me in a little early on some of the secret.

That is amazing Congrats Auntie!!!!!:flower3::goodvibes

Lisa, you can never show enough pix of ITTBAB Tree of Life. I love looking at all those animals and carvings. We missed the Nemo show when we were there and from what I've heard I don't think we are terribly disappointed.

Alex wanted to do primevial Whirl so bad. Waited in line for 50 min. then told it was down for the day. Everytime we would walk by to do Dinosaur we would check it out. He was major bummed about it. He loves rides.

Jen- Congrats to your sister. My grandson Alex is adopted and we so treasure having him in our life. And she has an A name. How great is that?
Ginny

Great Update. Primeval Whirl is one thing we have never done. I actually only saw it for the first time on my last trip (3rd time since AK opened) in 2004 (Ugh! I know, TOO long!!) and I was interested in going on it, it looked fun. But my DH and Friend we were traveling with were wimps when it came to a few of the rides LOL so we didn't go. When we go in 2010, I'm sure someone out of the other 12-15 people going will be brave enough to try!! :rotfl:

Jen, Congratulations on your new neice!! That's great! My SIL and her husband are going through the process to adopt now. They have a blog to keep us all updated on what's been going on. It's crazy to hear about all the things you have to go through to adopt, although I can't blame the agencies for being careful who they place a little one with.

Hi Lisa :goodvibes

Great update!! Sorry, you didn't like Nemo again, but at least you gave it another try. The last two times we've went we didn't have the best seats either and the show didn't seem nearly as good to us. But we still enjoy it and it's one of the boys favorites.;)

You are so right!!! Waiting in line for Primeval Whirl is so HOT and stuffy!! I'm glad that you all had so much fun riding it!! It is a fun ride!! I'm not much for all that spinning but it's always fun going down the hill backwards. You got a ton of great pictures!! I need to remember to start keeping my camera out during the rides. I always stash it away once we get on.:rolleyes1

Looking forward to more!!!popcorn::

Loved your update, Lisa! I really like that giraffe on the tree of life. So neat how it just fit so perfectly on that limb. Besides elephants, giraffes (or Lick-A-Bus, as you guys call them) are my favorite! :goodvibes

Well, that stinks that you didn't like Nemo AND that you got horrible seats, to boot. Hey, at least John escaped, right? Poor thing, sitting out in the hot sun. I wish he'd found himself a shady area.

I just love Primevil Whirl. I almost like it better than Everest, to tell you the truth, but I like to spin, so that's probably why!

Looking forward to more!

Thanks everyone!

I am so very very happy for your sister....actually for your entire family!

I don't blame you for not ever wanting to tell your sister you knew. I would feel bad about it one tiny bit.

I actually just found three more pictures I took of the Tree of Life. I'll post them this evening. I could just walk around the tree for hours looking for new animals.

I don't think you should be disappointed for missing the Nemo show.

We've stood in line for Primeval Whirl before too and then it shut down. They gave us return Fastpasses though.

Oh yeah, in a group that large, you shouldn't have a problem getting somebody to ride with you. It's really a zippy, dippy, fun ride!

I really did want to like the Nemo show. I just love Finding Nemo the movie. Why in the world I can't like the show, I don't know.:confused3

I didn't remember it being so hot in the Primeval Whirl line. I guess because it's kinda-sorta enclosed but still outside. Maybe?

I leave my camera on me on most rides. On a few, I take it off. Who knows when I might see something that I just have to have a picture of?;)

The lick-a-bus is just outside and to the right of the It's Tough to Be A Bug exit. If there are tons of people walking by, you can miss it very easily. I love giraffes too.

John doesn't like Nemo and he can't stand Stitch so it's really hard to convince him to do something that has to do with either one of those characters. He is such a dumb bunny sometimes. Why he didn't go in search of a nice shady bench, I don't know. And, he said he didn't even get a few winks in either. :sad2:

I think Primeval Whirl is super fun because I don't mind the spins or the drops. When it comes to heights, it's a whole 'nother story.:scared1: I just closed my eyes when we got to the parts that made us look like we were going to fall off the track.

Here are a few more Tree of Life pictures I found on photobucket.

I may have posted this one already but I'll post it again because I'm too lazy to go back and look.:rotfl:

The Finding Nemo show holds no interest for me even though I haven't seen it yet. DH wants to make sure we see the Lion King show though.

I do not like Primeval Whirl. The jerkiness of the ride hurts my neck. So does the Dinosaur ride. And EE, and...I guess I'm just getting to old for rides. :laughing:

Still giggling and laughing about our spins and turns on Primeval Whirl, we walked over to the little store I think is called Chester and Hester's to have a look around and, honestly, to soak up a little bit of air conditioning.

We like old/antique stuff and you can tell it from the way I decorate my house.....old pottery, an old sewing machine, trunks, etc. For those of you who like old things and have never really taken the time to explore this store, please do it next time you visit. They have some really neat things. An old Coke machine, old timey telephone on the wall and an old gas pump. Very cool if you're interested in those kinds of things.

They also have hundreds upon hundreds of things hanging from the ceiling. I took two pictures. They are virtually the same but one looks better than the other to me.

We were talking about how good the air conditioning felt when we looked in the corner and saw a castmember stocking the refrigerated case. He had his foot/leg up propping the door open, his upper body was almost all the way in and it looked just like he was climbing in the case. John said "he must be really hot!" which, of course, cracked us up.

Finding nothing that we really wanted and still in need of a refreshment, we went in search of an ice cream vendor. Instead of all of us standing in line, I had everybody tell me what they wanted and they went looking for a bench or a shaded area to sit in. Lacey and I got the pineapple bars. Hunter got a Mickey shaped ice cream sandwich and I think John got one of the chocolate dipped vanilla bars. Oh, and I got water. I used our snack credits.

I found everybody sitting in a little alcove along the Dinosaur trail. The benches were taken but we were able to sit on the concrete ledge of the landscaping. We had a little time to kill until we could use our Fastpasses so we ate our ice cream and people watched. You could tell it was a hot and humid day because everybody was sweating and huffing and puffing their way around the park. Again, I saw some really skimpy tops!:scared1:

Our Fastpass time arrived and we were done so we took off towards our hunt for that one elusive dinosaur. Very soon, we were in the room where Mrs. Huxtable and her disgruntled paleontologist (spelling?) are fussing about whether or not my family and I were going back in time to pick up a dinosaur. I tried to take pictures but they turned our pretty doggone bad.

****Gotta stop for now. The boss is calling me.....yes, he's still here and it's almost 5:00 p.m. He's never in a good mood when he's here until the close of business.

Sweet Minerva, I'm at DW for a week (OK, it's been like 10-11 days since I read your thread), and there have been like 15 pages added!!!
:eek::eek::eek:

It took me a couple of hours of reading (and eating dinner and getting my son dinner and getting my son to take a bath and getting my son to bed and taking my wife's dog out) to read it all!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

OK, looking good so far.

Glad to hear your mom is doing OK, Lisa.

Love your update. You do know that Mrs Huxtable's first name is claire? LOL! Just thought I'd throw that one in.

I also thought I would throw in a few pics of Lick-a-buses I took in August when we went to the Fort Waynes Childrens zoo. claire got to feed one. She wasa very fascinated by that.
