Hi, I'm coming out of lurkdom too. Your TR's appear to do that!!

I'm from around Hot Springs, and it seems pretty chilly to us. HAHA. The highs are only in the mid 80's and the lows in the low 60's. Yesterday was 58! I bet at the lake in the mountains it would be a little cooler. In 2000, it was 108 degrees today. I have followed over from your 2008 trip report. Love your writing style. Following the trip reports, I have finally decided it's time to plan another trip to WDW! We haven't been since 2007 to WDW but went to DL in 2008. I'm not sure that my DH will come, but my 17 & 16 yr old sons want to go as much as me. We are planning on going about the same time as you. But we like the All Star Sports. More money on fun stuff like tours and Bass Fishing Excursions! Thanks for luring me out of lurkdom.

Dawn
Hi Dawn!
I'm so very glad that you decided to come on board with all of us! I told John it wouldn't be hot in Hot Springs. Maybe I need t let him read your post.
We absolutely love going to Lake Ouachita State Park. We've gone so many times, we even know which campsite number we want. To me there's nothing better (with the exception of Disney) than lying in your tent and listening to all of the sounds around you. I absolutely love it.
My former brother in law owns part of an SUV park/campground near Hot Springs. We are still on very good terms and still consider him family. He keeps telling us that he can get us passes to camp all we have to do is call. But, I just can't seem to want to go anywhere but Lake Ouachita.
Heck yeah, you need to plan another trip to Disney. John loves Disney just as much as I do but he probably wouldn't admit it if you asked.
I think we're probably going to do one of the tours this year. We are a bit limited to which ones because of Hunter's age. I can't wait until he turns 16 so we can do the "big" tours.
Again, thanks so much for along on our Disney vacation.
If I were to camp I would go around Hot Springs. It is gorgeous there. Probably not a forever drive for you is it? You can come to Branson. Our high today was 72. It is to be in the low 80's by the weekend.
I see Connie set you straight on Memorial Day. Darn. It was a good plan. Maybe you can convince him something different. I had a boss I could tell him anything and he wouldl believe it. I have an excellent story for Dana. I'll blurt it out one of these days. My day actually was way better than I expected. He ended up being in a good mood. He said call was not so bad. He got no calls in the night Sat or Sun. Generally that is when the hospital does their best calling.
We have no plans this weekend. Next weekend is Don's family reunion. Ugg. They are boring. But I being the good wife will attend. We leave early Saturday morning and spend the day in the heat. Spend the night and get up and come home on Sunday. The following week is the surprise party for Don's Mom. That will be fun. Sandi is coming over for that and that will be good. The next weekend is my Mom's birthday. I have no idea what we will do. And the following week is Austin's birthday then Alex's. Busy busy. That means presents everywhere. I may have refigure my budget.
Have a pleasant evening.
Ginny
We can leave our house, drive to Disney and have our tent set up in 4 1/2 hours. It's well worth the drive to us because here we have just a lake. In Hot Springs, you have a lake AND mountains! I hate to say it but it'll be quite a while before I go back to Branson. That place was a madhouse and it cost us a ton of money. And people fuss about Disney's prices. Yeah, you can get a room for next to nothin' in Branson but you pay out the behind to do anything.
Yep, I've been set straight on the whole Memorial Day deal. But, still, it's okay because I'll have all day Monday to get my Disney stuff together. Or, we can just sleep in and rest up.
I wish I could tell my boss just about anything and he'd believe it. We have a court docket/schedule on each of our desks so it's right there in front of us. We just don't have 2010 yet.
I'm glad your day was better than you expected. It's always nice to be better and not worse!
So far, we have no plans for the weekend. If it were up to John, we'd stay at home all the time. He is perfectly content to do nothing. I am always telling him that he needs to get out and about.
Hunter and Lacey are just like me. They like to plan outings like their mama. Yesterday evening, we were swinging on the porch while Hunter played in the mud. Yes, the mud. He had the waterhose out and made a huge mudhole where the swimming pool used to be. First, he sat in it. Then, he covered his legs with mud. I told him to just have fun and the next thing I new, he was rolling in it. Simple pleasures.
Anyway, while he was playing in the water (pre-mudhole), he said "I wish we could go to that place in Texas." When we asked what place, he said he didn't know. We finally figured out that it was the huge flea market in Canton, Texas. See, I told you he liked to plan outings.
I may be able to find something for us to do this weekend. It may be nothing but to drive over to Shreveport. I don't know. I just don't like sitting around the house. Makes me feel a little guilty because I know I should get up and sweep, mop, wash clothes, dust, etc. etc. etc.
I feel for you having to go to the famly reunion. John's side has a family reunion every year around July 4th. I know only a few of the people and they are all grumpy boring folks. Each family sits at their own table. Nobody mingles and mixes. Years ago, I told John I was done going there. He said he was glad I finally said something because he didn't want to go either.
On my side of the family, we get to whooping and hollering and laughing. We're fun! Except for my fussy old brother-in-law who hardly ever comes to anything anyway.
Once you get the famly reunion over with, it sounds like you'll have a fun couple of weekends.
