Remember that story? I loved it as a kid. So really, I am making soup today. I already have my stone. ;) I have my beef bones roasted and now simmering in beef broth, onions and tomatoes in the crock pot. What should I add? It smells great right now..

I loved that story too, I read it many many times with my grandmother... I'm going to suggest some green beans. I would say carrots but I hate cooked carrots

Mmmm...sounds great on a cold winter day.
If I was making that soup, I'd add green beans, carrots, corn and then (maybe 1/2 hour before dinner) some chopped up cabbage. Really adds a ton of flavor and bulk.

Enjoy your stone soup!

Okay...now I'm curious. One of you have to tell the story. And your soup sounds yummy!! How about adding some potatoes?

:wave2:

Ok y'all.. All of the above veggies are going in. What about spices? I did add a clove of garlic, and a little basil and oregano. Another other seasonings besides salt and pepper? This always seems to be where I fall short.

HelenPA, you will have to pick around the carrots..:rotfl:

I don't have any cabbage, so that may have to be left out..it sounds good enough for me to make a trip to the store..I may just do that. Kidney beans sound good, too. The kids love them, I will look in my pantry..

We use this seasoning in/on absolutely everything we cook! After a less than memorable dining experience this weekend with a bland steak - I'm thinking of carrying a bottle in my purse for eating out! My DH is the meat manager at a grocery store and he keeps Nature's Seasons lined up on the window to suggest to his customers when they ask him "how do you fix this". (I should write to Morton's to let them know!)

I usually put a few shakes of Worcestershire sauce in my beef stew for a little more flavor.
