Stomach Virus. May be TMI.

I've been fighting this for about a week and now I think I'm losing the battle.
:(

Remember the TMI in the thread title? You've been warned.

Eat and go has been the motto of the day. I put myself on the BRAT diet tonight but I have still visited the powder room 3 times after eating what passed for dinner.

So has anyone else had this lately? Misery loves company.

I had it a few weeks ago. Lasted about 4 days. I didn't eat the entire time (nothing stayed there). Even gatorade wouldn't stay put. I feel for you.

I had rotavirus about 10 years ago. I called the nurses line and was told to eat NOTHING. It just prolonged it. I was to suck on ice chips to stay hydrated. It worked. Once I stopped eating, I stopped pooping.
Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear that but I see you're in the same state as me so that makes me feel a bit better.

About 5 years ago I had some weird experience where every time I ate gluten I got sick as a dog. They thought I had Celiacs but the test were negative. Finally after 8 months of being gluten free, I started introducing it back into my diet and never had any more trouble.

I don't ever want to go through that again and that's why any time I have any tummy troubles I get really nervous. This current problem reminds me of that episode 5 years ago. :furious:

Nothing lasting more than about 24 hours, but last week was the first full week of school and that little bug was already running rampant. DS got it Thur, DS's teacher had to leave Friday, neigbors DD had it Sat, my DD had it Sun, Neighbor DD got it again Sun night(probably just wasn't done yet), same neigbors DS(in my DS's class) had it Mon and Tues. Cross your fingers no one else seems to have it here, yet.

Liquid acidophilus in the refrigerator section of the health food store really helps speed up your body fighting the bug. It is hard to stomach though when your stomach already hurts!

It has been a lifesaver, literally, for my mom and daughter that had terrible bouts of diarrhea.

You are very very lucky. I have Celiac's and my tests were negative until this past may. Most of us don't get to go back on gluten.
Feel better!!!!!

DH has the same thing about a week ago. He was 'sick' with all your same symptoms and lost over 10lbs. He too was put on the BRAT diet. Oddly enough he was the only one in the the family that got sick. He is better now and just trying to gain his weight back. Hope you feel better soon.
