Stolen Stateroom Magnets?

We want to use the magnets so our kids can identify our stateroom, so we'll have to chance it... Fingers crossed + (probably misplaced) faith in humanity!

I would also make sure I teach them the number and where to find it just in case the magnets get moved to another door or disappear all together. I would never depend on something that someone could move/take as a room identifier.

I wonder what software they use. I wouldn't mind just doing it myself, but I want to personalize them.
I use Photoshop Elements to fine tune and shape the pieces I want for my magnets. Then I use PowerPoint to put them together and add any shadows. I have also downloaded the Waltograph font (it can be found for free) to put names on my magnets.

In my case, I also then took my pieces and put them back into Elements to make a large (24x36) poster sized document with all my magnets in them. I then send them off to my local printer to be printed as a poster on photo paper. Then I cut them out when I get the poster back. It's cheaper in my case to get the one large poster than, say 15 8x10s or 5x7s that would also need to be cut out. I still have to add magnets, mind you, so I know some people prefer to just print out on magnetic paper.

The magnetic paper wrecked my printer last year! Yep. Never had a problem before. I think it was Staples magnetic paper. Just be mindful. After getting a new printer... I printed them on very nice stock and glued them to the magnetic paper. I use powerpoint and word. If my son does them (fancier than mine, for sure), he uses GIMP

I get mine all organized in power point or similar and print them on car magnet sheets through vista print. The magnet sheets are nice and strong but I can still cut them easily at home. What size magnet sheet I prefer depends on how I organize the images and if it's cheaper to do multiple small sheets or one large one.

Wow!

Yikes, now I'm worried that our magnets will get stolen. We're going to be on Deck 9 Midship. I guess I'll need to make extras in case we need to re-decorate mid cruise! :teeth:

I've used tons (yes, probably that much, according to my husband :teeth:) of magnets on all our cruises. Only had 2 stolen on our 2nd cruise.

It's not as bad as this thread makes it sound.

Thanks, I feel a little better! I figured it wasn't possible but hadn't given it much thought until I started making the magnets today.

I'll definitely put something on the back that has our stateroom number so if they end up on someone else's door there's a chance they'll be returned!

A four day in December was the first time I ever had magnets stolen. Two were brand new purchased on Cc. Most of our hall, deck 5 aft on the magic, had magnets stolen.

While I'm glad no one has stolen my magnets, I think I'd have to assume they took it because I did a good job of making it, so it would be a compliment.

I made extras of my favourites, just in case and put them up inside the room. That way, if any walked off, I had an extra to add to my door.

We had a magnet exchange a few days ago. Personalized ones people put on our door, non-personal were left in our FE. I had no theft, but chose to bring the non-personal ones in so that kids were not tempted.
