Hey all. I haven't been on the new Stitch's Great Esacape yet but used to hit Alien Encounter all the time before we had kids. Now I've got a 6 yo DS and a 3 yo DD and I think my 6 yo DS would love it. It's similar right? He loves to be frightened but I wanted to check with all of you first. I don't want to ruin the day if it's just too much for him.

Any thoughts?

It's hard to say what age group this attraction is geared toward, but if your 6 year old loves to be scared he might just be Disney's target audience. It's too scary for, say, 4 or 5 year olds (and some 6 year olds!), too tame for 8, 9 and 10 year olds.

If he likes to be scared, doesn't mind the dark, and thinks Stitch is funny when he's running amok, he'll like this particular attraction. Do Child Swap if you're still not sure.

Took my 11 year old and my 7 year old on it and the 7 year old really liked it. Didn't find it scary at all....more funny. Nothing too scary and they loved seeing the animatronic Stitch so much that my DD bought the stuffed Stitch as her special gift.

My DD6 & DS5 went on last December. They both said it was okay--didn't hate it, didn't love. My son had his hood on so he did not feel the full affect of the ride which I was happy about since I do not think he would of liked Stitch breathing on his neck.

My ds was 7 when he tried it and he loooved it! We did tell him beforehand that it would be dark and that the harness came down to his shoulders! i believe in a little advance preparednesss! :rotfl:

Your 6 year old should be fine with the effects. Now whether or not the show is worth it is a different discussion altogether.

We saw lots of children younger than 6 both times we went on it last week and I was looking for crying, etc but heard none. I heard one little girl tell her Dad "its just make-believe"...she was so cute!! I saw go, but talk to them ahead of time.....about the affects.

someone said to put your hands over their shoulders when the harness comes down so it doesnt squish them too much- just wanted to pass that info along. :wave2:

I wasn't going to take my 9 year old dd but she was asking...

If she likes Dinosaur (the only really scary ride she has been on) would Stitch be o.k.?

I think she would do fine. I would say Dinosaur is more scary than Stitch. We left the ride (DS12, DS10, and DD7) thinking was that all? We kept waiting for something more substantial to happen during the ride I guess. Didn't find it scary at all really.
