Just read the whole thing. Great TR. I'm so sorry for your loss. He's hangin out with my dad!! And my daddy is a fun guy!
Really unbelivable dinner and the "cake" was amazing.
Waiting patiently for more.popcorn::

The dinner sounded awsome. I loved the dessert tray. The picture of your boys was priceless.

That dessert tray looks amazing! They did a good job. I love the new picture of the boys. They are growing up so fast! Your little Prince is just adorable.

What a wonderful special evening for the two of you!!

That picture of your boys is just wonderful. It will definitely be worth the wait! ;)

The entire dinner and dessert tray were simply amazing. Disney must employ some of the most talented and creative people in the world. Again, great planning Mom! :thumbsup2

Oh yes, and that picture of the boys is wonderful!

Wow Jay what can I say! That Birthday dinner was just fantastic and the dessert :faint: absolutely fabulous, what a fantastic memory for you both :goodvibes

wow!! what an evening. i really can't come up with anymore eloquent than that, hahahaha.

and what a beautiful picture of your boys!!! i'm sure the rest of them are also wonderful. My brother and i get our pictures done for Christmas every year - they NEVER fail to make my stepmother cry, hahahah.

Jay, what a great photo of the boys! They are all getting so much older! It is fun to see them grow up... handsome group! :goodvibes

What an awesome end to an awesome day! The dessert tray was amazing. I just love the little pizzas. Too cute!
Your boys all look so handsome. You have every right to be a proud mommy!:)

Jay ............ Thank you for the info. I have started seting up my private dining with the grand floridian. This is going to be wonderful!

I love the new picture of your boys...It is wonderful, Little Prince is getting so big! I know that isn't his name any more, but I fell in love with your trip reports during the cruise, and this is how I always think of him.

The dinner turned out wonderfully! The food looked veryyyy yummy and the dessert tray was amazing! It's making my stomach growl. ;)

The pic of the boys is very sweet, I love the brown shirts/brown background/jeans/hardwood floor/barefeet combo. :goodvibes

your son looks super happy in these pictures! How special that you got the chance to spend those moments with him!

p.s-wow...i knew disney did specialized cakes and such, but i didnt realize they did all of that! my parents and i are going in october for my 25th birthday...the private dinning sounds like sooooo much fun. how/where did you get the information to call?

WHAT a great dinner! Love the new photo of the boys, Jay. It's amazing how much they've grown in just a year.

Well Jay, you have really outdone yourself this time. What a childs dream. All those sweets following that great meal. I'm certain he felt so special (as he should) with that wonderful evening you planned for him. I bet he has a great day following that evening. Can't wait to read.

I absolute loved the picture of the boys. They are so good looking. I know how proud you must feel.

Yes, as we get closer it is hard not to talk. But we are good and anytime one of the one's who doesn't know starts asking what we are doing on vacation we change the subject. School gets out the day before we leave so the grandkids are busy with end of school activity for now. Good thing.
Ginny

What a fabulous cake! Disney never fails to amaze me!

I loved the picture of the boys! They are all getting so big, even my little nugget!! Love those chubby legs of his!! :lovestruc

I am utterly AMAZED by your entire dinner!!! It was the perfect personalized menu, the perfect location..just WOW. It is SO amazing at what the people who work at Disney can do and how they can make you feel so special. I never dreamed you could have a meal like that! Sounds you you two had a perfect mother son evening :goodvibes
I cannot speak highly enough of the private dining CMs at the GF, the chefs, the pastry team or the butlers we have enjoyed in the past. Every single time we have set something special up there or even just ordered hamburgers/hot dogs at a poolside cabana there it has been a 'grand' experience. I guess I am a sucker for being pampered. ;)

WOW WOW WOW.....what a delicious looking tray of Toy Story "goodness" for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love how they add the smallest of details. Everything looked so yummy!!! I wanna eat some of that right now...hahahaha. I want a birthday treat like that someday!!!!! Just amazing Jay...again, you outdid yourself. I can't wait to see what the other boys get on their special trips...as far as dessert goes!!! :cheer2:
The details always amaze me. I couldn't even dream up half of what they do and even if I could dream it up there is no way I could execute it. The pastry team at the GF is second to none (in my opinion). I love the edible works of art that they create!

wow...your meal and that dessert tray looked awesome! Now I am hungry for chocolate! LOL!
Ha ha ha, Stitch and I tried to make a dent in the tray for the rest of our stay and still ended up bringing most of the chocolate and fondant pieces home to be frozen for future use (I couldn't bear to throw those cute little LGMs away). I should have posted a warning to have a sweet snack available while looking at those pictures...they really do get your sweet tooth to make your mouth water. ;)

SPECTACULAR! is all I can say. From your meal, to your service, to that amazing dessert tray - it was just so perfect!

(Jay, my birthday is this month (and it's a big one!) will you take me to Disney World to celebrate, please? ;) )
Sure, let's plan a trip! ;) What's better than a WDW birthday celebration? Are you going to work on a treat for your family? If so and you are ever interested in 'talking' about it, PM me. I love surprise details! :) **Forgive me if I am confused about this, I plead that the boys use up a few of my brain cells each day. Ha ha.**

That truly was an amazing dinner. The dessert tray was awesome ! You described it so well I felt like I was right there at the table with you and Stitch.
I know I way over did the pictures, but I couldn't help myself. The detail on the tray was so intricate. I was floored looking at it in person (and still am sitting here at home thinking back on it).

Jay scores again!!!! :cool1: So perfect, so amazing, so awesome! I love having one on one time with each child and this is certainly the way to do it! Fabulous! :woohoo:
The main person I worked with told me that the head pastry chef took my projects as mini challenges. :rotfl: As in a challenge to wow a repeat customer and come up with even more spectacular/delicious treats. I told her to tell them that they were doing a tremendous job! ;)

That dessert tray is awesome! I always am envious of people that are so creative. I have a hard time making a plain cake from a mix.

How neat that you two were able to view Wishes from your spot. That is a special night you two will always remember.
Ha ha ha, I can do it from a box BUT, I am lazy about even that. A friend once told me to dump a single can of Coke, Sprite or whatever kind of soda would work well with the flavor of cake you have in with one bag of boxed mix. Stir until mixed and then cook according to the directions on the box. No eggs, no water, no oil. Just one can of soda, mix and pour in the pan. It works great. Tastes much more moist, has fewer calories (if you use diet soda) and is impossible to mess up. ;)

I will always treasure the memory of him perched on my lap with my arms wrapped around him during Wishes. Pretty soon, he will be too big to fit on my lap...time flies so fast! I think the bigger he gets, the more precious this memory will become.

How are all of your kids doing?

I am...oh...I...speechless. That dessert tray was...WOW. I can't even imagine what you must have felt when you saw that!!!!!!
I am pretty sure I gasped when I saw it. It was beyond what I had been hoping for! How is your sweet dd doing? Is she getting into everything yet?

WOW that's such a cool cake!! Hard to top that one......

BUT THEY DID!!!! :scared1: OMG that Toy Story dessert tray is awesome!! OMG the little traffic cones! And the chocolate boot, and the universe behind Buzz!! Totally amazing!! What a great evening you and Stitch had!!
I know, I keep thinking, there is NO way they can top the Pluto cake or the Indiana Jones dessert tray but I was still in awe when the Toy Story one came out. I am looking forward to working with them again (sooner than later would be much more fun;) ).

what a heart melting moment. sounds like you had some great bonding time!
It was a very special time for us. And it did totally melt my heart. I love our boys so very much. They are so precious to me and the time alone with Stitch was an amazing gift for me!

What a fabulous photo, Jay. I can see why you couldn't wait to share it. You take that proud mommy moment.

OMG - once again - I am at a loss for words. What a wonderful special dinner you had with Stitch.
Hee hee hee, I love that picture. We had such a big order that I wasn't done by dinner time (and we had started the appointment at 2:30 :rolleyes1) so the photographer ordered pizza for all of us (which tells you just how overboard I went with how much I spent on my photo order :lmao:). When dh came in to tell me to hurry it up (he was watching the kids in the studio while I completed our order in her office) cause the kids were hungry, I told him I wasn't ready to leave yet cause I was still ordering and that pizza was on the way. He started to laugh so hard and said that it figured but told her that we would pay for our own pizza. He then proceeded to say something like were we her biggest order of the week...and she said we were not just that but the biggest order year to date. :lmao: Dh stopped protesting her providing the pizza at that point. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Wow! I'm speechless over that tray and I didn't see it in real life!
It was even better in person (it looked even more amazing, smelled so good and tasted even better).

I had no idea that anyone could arrange to have a private dinner like that at the GF. That was such a great birthday dinner for Stitch. That Toy Story dessert was just incredible!

I so want to take my kids on Mommy & Me trips after reading this TR! What a blast to be able to spend the one on one time with each child.
I had heard of 'intimate dinners' before at the GF but I had forgotten all about them. I was beyond excited when I called and they suggested it to me!

It is such a blast to get that special one on one time with your kids. For me, I couldn't ask for a better birthday gift for myself (which is what I told dh to consider my birthday gift this year as well, the special trips for me with the boys). Dh is totally loving the special time at home with the other boys as well. He normally doesn't have a lot of time to do fun outings with just him and the boys. It's either all of us as a family or the boys and I doing something. So it was really good for our family (all the way around).

Just read the whole thing. Great TR. I'm so sorry for your loss. He's hangin out with my dad!! And my daddy is a fun guy!
Really unbelivable dinner and the "cake" was amazing.
Waiting patiently for more.popcorn::
Thanks for that. Sorry to hear that you lost your dad as well. It's not an easy thing to go through for anyone, I imagine. I think of him up there being a joker and having fun doing it. I hope your dad has a sense of humor. ;)

I am happy for him that he is out of pain now but wish I could have spent at least a little more time with him. It was really hard for me, living in another state while he had been sick over the past two years. I felt so helpless and wanted to be there doing so much more for him, but with four kids back home, I just couldn't be there half as much as I wanted to be.

Thanks for joining in! Glad you are enjoying the trip report!

The dinner sounded awsome. I loved the dessert tray. The picture of your boys was priceless.
The dinner truly was awesome (and amazing and tons of other positive words ;) ). And thank you, I really adore that picture too! :)

That dessert tray looks amazing! They did a good job. I love the new picture of the boys. They are growing up so fast! Your little Prince is just adorable.
Aren't they getting huge? I look at the pictures of them from this time last year and I am stunned at the differences. Sometimes I think I blink and they have grown an inch!

I am already getting excited about the next dessert tray/cake masterpiece they will hopefully be able to create for us! Such detailed desserts make any celebration feel even more special! Excuse the pun, but they really are the icing on the cake! ;) Hee hee.

What a wonderful special evening for the two of you!!

That picture of your boys is just wonderful. It will definitely be worth the wait! ;)
Yes, it was such a great evening, one I will always remember fondly and treasure.

Thanks, I know it will be worth the wait, but my patience needs some practice I think. :hyper:

The entire dinner and dessert tray were simply amazing. Disney must employ some of the most talented and creative people in the world. Again, great planning Mom! :thumbsup2

Oh yes, and that picture of the boys is wonderful!
They do, don't they! It's amazing that one company can have so many talented employees. Lucky for all of us, I guess. ;)

Wow Jay what can I say! That Birthday dinner was just fantastic and the dessert :faint: absolutely fabulous, what a fantastic memory for you both :goodvibes
Hiya Jo, I have missed you. I hope you are doing well. It was FANTASTIC! I loved every minute of it! If you ever hear that Disney is selling those fireworks glasses, please let me know. ;) I keep having dreams of getting my greedy little hands on a few pairs of those. :rotfl:

I hope that one day, dh and I will be able to have special dinners like that with each of our grandchildren. :cloud9: Or at least that is one of the things I use to trick myself into being okay with the boys growing up so fast. :upsidedow

wow!! what an evening. i really can't come up with anymore eloquent than that, hahahaha.

and what a beautiful picture of your boys!!! i'm sure the rest of them are also wonderful. My brother and i get our pictures done for Christmas every year - they NEVER fail to make my stepmother cry, hahahah.
Ha ha ha, I am glad I am not the only sap out there. I am such a sucker for pictures of the boys.

Jay, what a great photo of the boys! They are all getting so much older! It is fun to see them grow up... handsome group! :goodvibes
It is so much fun to watch them changing and growing. It's just all happening so fast. The pictures are my attempt at trying to capture at least a tiny bit of them at this age. ;)

What an awesome end to an awesome day! The dessert tray was amazing. I just love the little pizzas. Too cute!
Your boys all look so handsome. You have every right to be a proud mommy!:)
Those little pizzas were adorable. And the cream cheese tasting table cloths were YUM! I loved those mini carrot cakes! They were really good (and super cute).

I still think of him as the LP myself. But, Buzz also seems to fit him...at least as he gets more active and into just about everything. ;)

I am so glad that information helped you out. I hope you will let me know how your meal turns out! I am sure it will be amazing! Enjoy!

The dinner turned out wonderfully! The food looked veryyyy yummy and the dessert tray was amazing! It's making my stomach growl. ;)

The pic of the boys is very sweet, I love the brown shirts/brown background/jeans/hardwood floor/barefeet combo. :goodvibes
How did you make your cool countdown things? I love how it flashes and has 'real' pictures!

I am a sucker for monochromatic looks in pictures so the brown on brown was right up my alley (with the lighter brown floor and different shades of brown hair). And the blue of the jeans worked really well too. I love photo sessions...as long as I am not the one in them. ;)

your son looks super happy in these pictures! How special that you got the chance to spend those moments with him!

p.s-wow...i knew disney did specialized cakes and such, but i didnt realize they did all of that! my parents and i are going in october for my 25th birthday...the private dinning sounds like sooooo much fun. how/where did you get the information to call?
If you are interested, I can PM you the email address for private dining at the GF. Just let me know. You could also call the cake hotline and once you make all of the choices through on that, you eventually have a choice to pick 'private dining' at the Grand Floridian and they are the ones who arrange 'intimate dinners' at the GF. To have a personalized cake or dessert tray you have to be staying at or dining at the GF. They won't deliver to another resort or even allow you to pick it up. That's just fine by me though, I love to dine there (and it's also one of my favorite resorts to stay at). I think you can get cakes at almost any other resort too (although the cakes I have gotten at other resorts are not the works of art like the ones I have gotten at the GF....they were however ADORABLE and great in their own rights).

WHAT a great dinner! Love the new photo of the boys, Jay. It's amazing how much they've grown in just a year.
I have REALLY missed you, Linda. Don't be such a stranger! In fact, if you have the chance, we should catch up soon. I have some more dates to run by you for a hopeful time to meet up at WDW! :)

Well Jay, you have really outdone yourself this time. What a childs dream. All those sweets following that great meal. I'm certain he felt so special (as he should) with that wonderful evening you planned for him. I bet he has a great day following that evening. Can't wait to read.

Ginny
I am glad you are good at changing the subject, I totally fumble around looking for something else to say. Dh says I get a 'guilty look'. Thankfully the boys don't think they might be getting a surprise each time (although I am guessing they might start to since I am becoming a bit addicted to arranging them) so they don't really ask anything about them. I once tried to make a trip a surprise, but I ended up spilling the beans because they brought me their piggy banks and asked me if they could help pay their own way to WDW that year. Talk about melting my heart (and the seal on my mouth). ;)

What a fabulous cake! Disney never fails to amaze me!

I loved the picture of the boys! They are all getting so big, even my little nugget!! Love those chubby legs of his!! :lovestruc
I know, the little nugget still has such sweetly chubby legs/feet/cheeks. I will surely miss that when he gets bigger. :cloud9:

How have you been feeling lately? How is dd doing? HOW IS BEAST?! :rolleyes1:laughing:

That photo came out awesome Jay! I'd love to see others from the session.

And that tray of desserts... WOW!!!

Ha ha.**

I sent you a very rambling PM awhile back. It was right before we got the update that you had left to be with your dad though, so I completely understand why you missed it. I would LOVE your input though, so if it is not still in your PM box let me know and I'll send it again. :thumbsup2
