Does anyone know when the "kinder gentler" alien encounter with stitch opens in the MK? I know it says "mid year" on some promotions, but wondering if anyone knows anything more specific.

Supposed to be fall of this year, but no date set yet.

i just read on another site that it's rumored to be ready except for the queue and fascade and should be soft opening in July!! i hope so i'd soooo love to be one of the first on the ride I LOVE STITCH!!

Is it supposed to be more "kid-friendly" do you know?

Yeah it was decided they needed to tone it down and tie it in with a movie so kids wouldn't be so frightened! good idea IMO even though i loved the old ride i know this will be as good!!

But i think the fact that Stich is in it and kids know who he is will make it more child friendly!!

Early (unconfirmed) reports indicate that the revamped attraction will have no height restriction, meaning that it will be suitable for all ages.

If that's the case, I'm sure parents will still have to exercise a bit of common sense, as is the case with any "dark" ride. I can tell you that our children won't be sitting through It's Tough To Be A Bug for a few more years.
