Has anyone heard of any soft openings for Stitch Escape at MK yet. Last I heard it was scheduled to open mid November and I have been able to catch "soft openings" for other rides (ie Test Track) during the month or so before the official openings before. Hope to catch it if possible when we're there next month. I will really miss Alien Encounter, but am excited to see what they've done now.

Last word was a few weeks ago-- not optimistic though. Looks like the ride won't be ready until later this fall, possibly as late as early Dec. Guess you can't be considered delayed when you don't give an official date.

The AP preview is Nov 5-7. I haven't seen any official annoucements, but typically soft openings happen before previews. If not before, I can't imagine they'd be long after.

:bounce: :faint: I can't believe I actually have a trip timed right! We arrive on the 6th!:thewave:

Darn, we'll miss the Passholder preview, too. There is just not very much going on for passholders lately since they closed down all the lounges. I hate to miss any of the events by such a short time, but will still cross my fingers for a soft opening.

I've never been to a passholder preview before - do long lines form?

I would really like to see COP before it does it's seasonal shutdown after Stitch opens. Is there any way to find out when it will be closing without calling a WDW csr?pirate:

Can someone tell me what a "soft opening" is? Does that mean that the ride is open, but they haven't announced it to the public, but you can get on the ride if you happen to be in that park that day? We're going Nov 6-13, but don't have AP passes. I'm hoping that when we walk on by towards SM we'll see Stitch open.

Lovepug: How cute is that picture :) We have a fawn Pug too...just had to comment from one pug owner to another :) Here's my baby :)

Tay N Evie's Mom: Soft opening means just that, it could be open, but is could be closed. It is not oficcially open yet, so they can close at anytime to work out a "bug" or whatever needs to be worked on. Soft openings usually last a few weeks and as you said when you walk by it may be open, it may not be, just be on the look out for it. The AP previews are exclusive so if the previews for AP's are Nov 5-7 you would probably see soft openings starting the 8th (or prior to the AP preview...)

Soft openings basically take two forms:

1. Random, unscheduled test runs when CMs will simply invite any passers-by to give the new ride a try, or

2. Full-fledged operation which begins prior to the formal "Grand Opening" of the attraction.

Since the AP holder preview dates are toward the beginning of your trip, it's entirely possible that the ride will be in full operating mode before you leave.

I've read a rumor that Stitch will officially open on 16 November. Of course I'll take that with a grain a salt. But if it is true, Stitch should have soft opening during that last of October thru the 15th.

Official opening only happen after a testing period with the guest to meet the Imagineers requirement targets.

I'm keeping my finger crossed that both Stitch and COP will be open for my trip 5 - 14 November. :goodvibes

My fingers are crossed for both too for 10/22 to 10/29.

I guess that means there is no chance at all of it being open while we are there October 2-9.

I was there just last week and it looked far from ready. You could see down past the walls they erected to block the construction views when on the TTA. Of course, I have no clue what the inside looked like, but from the outside, it looked very much under construction.
