Stitch ride

As the 2005 official guide states, it will be the same height resctriction as the Alien attraction was. 44 inches. Though all the theming has been made to fit with Stitch, it's still the same seats, the same harnesses and the same glass container in the middle. That's what I read from the official gude anyway. I wouldn't call it totally different, just a cosmetic makeover. So the poor kids 5 and under that aren't 44 inches yet but love Sticth will be kept out of it. Wish they hadn't been so penny pinching on this one. Stitch needs to be available for younger kids. They're going to be very sad they can't go in! I dislike that they went for the money save rather than considering a big chunk of Stitch's fans.

Jeez, I know that every time I see a 22 DAY VACATION noted I just know they are from the UK.... I am so jealous. I wish we had that kind of time off. We typically have to work somewhere for at least 10 years before getting that kind of time off.

;) There are some perks to putting up with the cold weather and almost constant rain! We all usually get around 25 days annual leave from our jobs per year usually most companies only let you take two weeks at a time, but they make allowances for special occaisons.:teeth:

I would guess that the height restrictions come in where the over-the-shoulder harnesses need to meet your shoulders to get full effect of the attraction. (As in when the alien walked on your harness and it pressed on your shoulders). Stitch may be "jumping" around the room at some point giving the same effect. Also, there may be some darkness that may frighten some little one. I agree though, I think there should be some seats reserved for smaller children where they can at least watch the show. They can get the full effect as they get taller! Seems to me that may keep some parents with small children off the ride too. Guess we'll have to wait for reviews to know for sure.pirate:

I liked Alien encounter - kind of sad to see it go. It really scared the kids last January when we went. I am looking forward to the facelift though and my kids loved stitch so I think we will enjoy it. We will in MK on the 21st of November - I hope that it will be up and running fully by then.

I too loved AE. On our last visit, just before AE was shut down, I took some pictures of the inside. When the CM saw me, I was very nicely asked to put my camera away.

AE played with your mind, if you let it. While I am sure that my family will enjoy Stitch, I personally will miss AE.

I sent an e-mail to guest services asking about a height requirement for this ride, since the disneyworld website said see attraction for requirements. I got a reply that because the ride wasn't open, they didn't have info on it yet. I then called WDW info this week, and the CM also said it wasn't listed on her computer yet. I read on a rumor board that the height was going to be 35 inches, which would give me two very happy 5-year olds! I'm not counting on anything though until someone gets on the ride and can confirm. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

my magical disney wish is to experience the "stitch" attraction on my upcoming trip....

single digits!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm glad both my DD's will be big enough to ride this ride. Can't wait to hear the reviews!!:D

I have two DD's aged 3 and 6..........how silly if Mommy & Daddy go on but they can't !!!
They are the ones who made Lilo & Stitch famous (by watching cartoons) not Mom & Dad....
Sometimes I get conflicting answers to questions whenever I call WDW and talk to a CM.
I hope my kids can enjoy this attraction too!
