DH rode the Stitch ride last week and is still talking about how horrible it was. Everytime he saw a Stitch stuffed toy or Stitch's image on a monorail or bus (it's everywhere!) he just said "HORRIBLE!" He said it might be the worst attraction he has ever seen at any park he has ever been to. The only thing he found amusing was that when Stitch burped you could smell it, but I can't imagine enjoying that! lol!

He also said that many little kids were taken out screaming by their parents because they got scared during the show. It's a problem because kids like Stitch and they have no idea they're going into a scary attraction. Kinda like the Snow White ride.

So if you have small children and they want to go on Stitch, think twice about taking them. Think twice about going yourself. DH says don't waste your time.

I know I am the exception to the rule, but I didn't mind the Stitch attraction, and will do it again. Granted the plot is thin, and little out of sequence, but overall I liked it. I agree though, little ones might find it a bit hard to handle...

I think everyone thought it would be something new and better than Alien, but it was just revamped to target kids. Maybe if perceptions were altered....JMHO.

I just came back this weekend - I thought the ride was cute, but my 5 year old who loves stitch was scared silly. BUT - she cried on any ride that was even remotely dark.

She loved splash mountain though!!!

My kids were not scared but didn't like it, none of us did. BUT, if it has a 5 min wait and we've done TTA and CoP and we're still waiting on FP time for Buzz, we'd probably try it again. (When we rode it the wait was 5 min. On another trip when we saw long lines for Stitch from TTA, kept remarking... those poor people.)

We did it in December and liked it. Is it the best new ride ever? No, but it is a cute and much better than Alien IMHO.

There is absolutely nothing scary about Stitch. It is designed for kids and, not to question your friends honesty here, but, I don't think that you can leave once the show starts. When I went to it no one, accept the completely bored, would have any reason to leave.

It is basic bathroom humor and actually pretty funny in spots. Now the Tiki Room, that is another story...many kids had to leave that one. What were they thinking????

I will agree that the "stitch" charactor is overdone in MK...this is "Mickey's" place and it is a mistake to push him aside for some little blue, chili burping, soon to be history, alien! Does anyone remember that movie about the rat? I think his name was "Willard" and we must be aware that Mickey is only one little genetic mutation away from being "Willard". You never know!

I didn't think this was possible But I liked Alien Encounter better.

IMHO, Stitch is the worst Disney character ever dreamed up and reflects Eisner's demise of Disney animation over the last few years. It's all about low cost and cross marketing now. At least Pixar does good stuff.

That's exactly what we thought. It's a lot better than alien, its scary but in a funny way and has a simple storyline.

We didn't see any screaming kids the 3 times we went on it. It's no scarier that It's Tough to Be a Bug.

I did it in February and there were probably a half dozen screaming kids in there. I felt badly for them. I didn't think it was scary, but obviously they did. I just thought it was stupid and I was a bit sorry I went in at all. I came out feeling as if I'd wasted my time and should have spent it on something better. :guilty: I don't think you can leave in the middle though. I certainly won't ever do it again unless they change it. I'd rather spend my time sitting on a bench people-watching than sitting through Stitch again.

I enjoyed the ride, I thought it was funny and I also like Stitch..I like the burping part it was funny it reminds me of my husband they call him the chili man!!! :rotfl:

We did the Stitch ride and it can be scary for little ones. My 6 yr old nephew was very scared. It's the same ride from before (4 yrs ago) where they had a monster in the case. They just put Stitch in it instead. Disney didn't get very creative with that ride! A definate no show ride. Save your time!

My kids (11 and 14) liked it. Or, should I say, my 14 yo liked it and my 11 yo LOVED it! Potty humor; very appealing to adolescents (and my DH)! My kids have never had a problem with the dark. There were no crying/screaming kids when we went. The room was never totally dark. Always had a bit of light.

The ride is not that bad. It is weak but still enjoyable. However, keep in mind that I liked the old Alien Encounter.

I don't love stitch as a character but the movie Lilo and Stitch was great! My kids still repeat the heart tugging lines ".....no on gets left behind" Family appreciation (whatever kind or size) is a wonderful moral for a movie. WDW to me is all about family.

I made the HUGE mistake of taking dd on it in Dec. She had just turned 3. This is a child who really enjoyed Haunted Mansion & LOVED the Snow White ride – She even enjoyed the ride in Norway. I’m not over exaggerating when I say she was traumatized. For the rest of the trip she was afraid of anything she could not see – eg. She could not wait to go on Goofy’s Barnstormer but was terrified before the Beauty & the Beast stage show – Once it started she loved it of course.

It was not the darkness or loud sounds that frightened her - I think what got her was she felt “attacked”. She was not just observing things – the things were actually happening TO her! Most 3 yo can’t separate fantasy from reality. She was not screaming - she sat and whimpered in pure terror. As her mother there was nothing I could do, other then hold her hand and try to reassure her, you are trapped in that harness.

We did take her to meet “good Stitch” at AK – but, she still has nightmares about “scary Stitch” (she never had nightmares before this)

I feel SO terrible that I took her on it. I did write Disney and have noticed that they have since raised the height requirements. I just wish Disney would not heavily advertise it as being redesigned for children – when it has the ability to frighten so many. :sad2:

Rumors are the show has had some changes done to it based on reports from people that went this past weekend.

I haven't been on this ride, but I've read alot about it and I experienced Alien Encounter many times (I already miss it.) I think I have a pretty good idea of what this thing is like now. I don't get what's scary about it? Can someone tell me? I know all of the effects from Alien, but it was scary then because it was a huge, hideous alien that was threatening to eat everyone. If you replace it with Stitch, what is scary about it? Could someone explain? My DD7 loves Stitch and can't wait to go on this, but I'd hate to take her into something that's going to scare her.
