Stitch - Is this the worst? We did the Stitch attraction at Tomorrow Land last week. Must say that I loved Alien Encouters and laughed everytime I did it. Must also say that we never made the kids do it as it might be a little scary. But what a cheap trick by Disney. The same attraction as AE but slightly modified with a different theme (and a big gift shop). This was terrible (please don't flame me, just provide your opinions). :earsboy:

I'm sure there are some who like it but I didn't. I thought I might barf after the chili hot dog. When we went it was very new. Me and my dh were doing baby swap. I went in with my 11yo dd and my 13yo brother in law. When we went in they were fighting about who got to go in again with my dh. Well when it was over they were fighting over who had to go in with dh. They didn't even like it and you would think that that is the age level they are trying to attract with it. My other dd who just turned 2 while down there actually made the height requirement. Thank goodness the guy convinced me that even though she made the limit she really shouldn't do it. He was so right there is no way a 2yo would have been ok with those restraints. I think they should up the height requirement some. Just my opinion.

DH felt a little gypped because of the "few changes" from alien encounter to Stitch but my DS's, for whom this was their first time seeing it at all, thought it was "the best" and everytime someone asked them what their favorite rides were answered "Stitch" and "Buzz Lightyear". I guess it's all in where you're coming from. Since both DS's met the height requirement and could go with DH, I decided to miss this one and do a little shopping!

Must admit my 11 year old liked it even though I didn't (and, of course, we all love Buzz).

Loved AE, hated Stitch. And I like Stitch, just don't like the attraction. The chili dogs were truly disgusting, and it was awful to see poor Skippy used that way. Both of him. AE was a great way to redo Mission to Mars, but it just didn't work the second time. And really, I don't think its that much less scary than AE for little kids. It's still loud noises and darkness.

blueangel - agree with you. Not AE but still scary for little ones. And poor Skippy, still in the bottle.

Have to agree, don't care for Stitch, loved AE. And tired of hearing him on the Monorail. This is the Magic Kingdom, NOT Stitch Kingdom. Enough already!

I kept telling my family what bad reviews I had read and that I wanted to skip it. They really still wanted to go on it , so while they rode I waited outside. When I saw them coming I asked if it was really that bad and they both nodded their heads. And my DS is a HUGE Stitch fan !!

I REALLY hated this ride. If the old version scared the kids so much, then why didnt they just suggest that only older kids and adults go in. I hope that the Imagineers realize that people like the old version better.

OH! I cannot remember Mission to Mars. What was that like? Please let me know. Thanx!

It was Mission to the Moon went I went on in 73 & I can't remember much about it except sitting in the round room after "briefing"

Loved AE, hate Stitch's Great Escape. It's the only attraction in WDW that I will never do again. Once was bad enough.

It's the one attraction, besides Small World and Splash Mountain, I will skip. I am just not interested.

I cannot get that song out of my head for months when I run after Small World and I am not much about getting wet. Although the kids will go on both the last two rides ;)

The only redeeming quality to the Stitch attraction is that the animatronic Stitch is really good. Very life-like! And I thought the pre show was cute. The rest of the attraction is worthless though.

I like to think that this was a quick fix for the Celebration, and that the Imagineers are working on a much more permanent replacement for AE once the Celebration is over.

Last November we went and at the begining of our vacation it was only open to AP's and VIP's on our fourth day they allowed everyone in (even though it was not "officially" open). We were thrilled, we waited longer for that ride then any other (50 min.). That was fine we were going to be one of the first to ride Stitch! At the end my DS's (7&11) looked at me and asked is that it? I just responded, I hope not! Of our entire trip that was the only let down.
How do they call that a ride????? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

While I did like Alien Encounter, A WHOLE LOT! I really think many are just jumping on the bus here about bashing Stitch. Dont get me wrong, you are FULLY entitled to your opinion and I could see how A.E. lovers would hate this just due to the change.

However, I have to say that I did it myself after hearing all of the bashing and while it's not exactly much entertainment for me, I dont see the big bashability of it. I think it was very cute and while I wasn't nervous, I will say that I was smiling through most of it because of how cute it was.

Anyways, just for those who haven't done it, you may/may not like it but it's not "horrible" in my personal opinion.

Dont stand in line more than 10 minutes to do it though.

DH and I took a solo trip in March to do "research" on Disney before taking our 4 and 2 year olds. Neither one of us had been there in about 15 years. We rode just about every "kid" ride possible to check it out and see what we think our kids would love and not like. I am so glad we went on this "ride" because it was so not appropriate for our 4 year old dd. I think kids (and parents too) see Stitch and think that is appropriate and fun. But I think it would be scary.
I sorta remember Mission to Mars as a kid. I can remember the seats inflating to make you feel like you were weightless - like you were in a rocket ship going on a space ride. I thought that was cool as a kid! That's what I thought we were riding with Stitch on board. Boy was I wrong!

I absolutely agree.

Its a far better presentation than any of the so-called "haunted houses" that people (especially teens) flock to this time of year (with little criticism).

The unique use of the Stitch attraction's technology is pretty amazing.

I think the Stitch Encounter has the same kind of "tilted" silly attitude that "Lilo and Stitch" the movie had.

Its not to be taken seriously.

I ride it at least once per trip.
Same as I used to do with AE.

I never had the opprtunity to ride AE. It sounds like it was a great attraction. Having said that ...

My son(16) and I are huge Stitch fans. We loved this ride and rode it many times last week. I did not go in with huge expectations after reading all the negative posts however I was very pleasantly surprised!!!

Two thumbs up from us!!

John

Most here aren't bashing Stitch b/c they miss AE (although I miss AE a lot). We "bash" Stitch b/c the attraction is completely plotless, pointless, and dull. There are no scares and there is no fun - there's just a big... nothing...It's not even funny!!

It's one of the only rides I leave saying "What just happened? Where's the show?"

Never again will I go on this pathetic excuse for an attraction.

Stitch, Primevil Whirl, and Mission: Space are the ONLY attractions I won't visit ever again, so that's pretty big coming from me.

(I'll visit HoP after 2008)

We will probably do this again on our next trip ONLY because my oldest loves Stitch. LOL But it really isn't my "thang" and I like AE better.

My other dd who just turned 2 while down there actually made the height requirement.

I think it's 40 inches isn't it? Your 2yr old is not the normal height... my average height just turned 5yr old only barely met the requirement when we were there in June (she's just over 42 inches)! Or did the height requirement change since you went? In any case, if your 2yr old is over 40 inches... it's not the norm so don't worry about a bunch of 2yr olds going in on this "ride/show". It's not likely to be happening... not many 2yr olds are that tall.
