I just got back from a trip to a Japan and made the weird discovery that the Japanese LOVE Stitch.
Personally, I've always liked Stitch, and was sort of bewildered by the people who can't stand him (I don't have a problem with it... you're allowed to hate whoever you want). So I sort of thought I was really in the minority as a Stitch-lover.
Japan blew me away. Everywhere I went, I came across Stitch in really weird places:
- Stuffed Stitch monkey-baby dolls in Takayama.
- Stitch riding the gold dolphin in Nagoya toys.
- Stitch on top of Himeji Castle key-rings.
- Stitch mouse-pads, Stitch, pencils... you name it. He was everywhere.
I came across lots of "weird" things in Japan... but their love of Stitch was a complete surprise.
