Stimulus Check

71 was our number - Got ours today. Going straight in the bank with this economy. With gas still going up I may need it to fill up come next week. Really I dont feel too secure with the way things are going. My oil budget just went up $80 a month for next year.

Since I am a practical person every day I am taking the money and going to Disney in September for free dining. I scrimp and save enough everyday that it feels great to splurge on myself.

We haven't gotten our yet but....DH is retiring next year and we are taking a 2+ month cross country auto trip. We've been saving our entire lives towards this trip and the check will be included.

Sounds great - you are living my dream! ;) I want to visit all 50 states and I would love to do what you all are doing.

I plan to use part of the money to invest in my business ventures, buy a new computer for my kids since I am in school part time and I hog the computer a lot :headache: , and for a road trip back to the Seattle area to visit family this summer.

We get ours next week. $600 goes to the vet for the steel rod/pin he put in our kitties arm after it got shot :scared1:
The other $1200 goes towards our Sept Disney trip.

Ours is going to replace the Central Air (went out on the very last day of summer last year)

I decided to use mine to purchase a CSA share from a local farm this year.

:woohoo: We're going to pay tuition with ours too! It'll be a nice help!

We received ours already and it is sitting in our savings account. That is where it will stay. So, therefore we are not stimulating much, sorry. We just bought a house and the closing costs were about $2200 more than we expected, we got $1500 from the stimulus check (thought we would get $2100), even if we did get the amount we were expecting it still would have all went back into savings to replenish the extra costs on the closing.

From what I heard on the news a few weeks back, and tell me if anyone else has heard this. The news said that this stimulus check won't actually go back into the economy, that most people, like us, will be hanging on to the money and/or using it to pay for neccesities like skyrocketing groceries and gas. With that, they said the gov't knows that a second stimulus check is needed and already in the talks. :confused3 Anyone else hear that?

We are using ours to take an extra vacation this year to Disney. We already had our summer beach vacation planned, and we are doing a Disney cruise next March. Both of those were already in the budget and the money earmarked for them. So we decided to use the stimulus check for an extra "surprise" trip to Disney for Christmas for our kids this year (we'll tell them Christmas morning and leave on the 26th) :cool1:

DH's 1/2 is going towards bills. My $600 is going towards a car/private driver for 9 hours one day in Italy that will take us to Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. We are going on the Adventures By Disney Viva Italia trip but it does not go to the coast/Pompeii-so we are flying in early to see that area. Ever since I was about 8 I have wanted to see Pompeii! I remember reading my Dad's National Geographics and being fascinated with Pompeii. The carr/driver is 360 Euro for 9 hours and that is $557 dollars today. :scared1:

We lived in Italy for 2 years, just an hour away from the Amalfi coast. We drove it 3 times, it is by far the most beautiful part of Italy! The drive can be very scary, it is a small 2 lane (well more like 1 1/2) curvy road on the coast with nothing between you and the sea! The Italians drive like they are in some sort of video game!:scared1: so if you are at all sensitive to motion sickness you might want to be prepared. It is a once in a lifetime drive though, take lots of pictures!!!!

We are spending our check on airfare for our October trip to OKW. The rest will go towards paying off our recent DVC purchase at OKW. It sounds like Disneys economy will be stimulated!!!:thumbsup2

We are planning a trip to WDW in Jan. Unfortunately none of that $$$ will go with us. It's going to my Oral Surgean for recession!! Yuck!!:scared1:

ours is paying for our airline tickets to New York.. Going July 2-6..

Just got mine. It was deposited in my account on Saturday. It's going towards my kids' tuition at Catholic school. Every little bit helps!

Has anyone got a check in the mail yet? When we get ours it is going to our trip in 27 days!!!1 Woohoo!! 1600 big ones to spend on whatever I want. Of course I'll have to buy a few new outfits for me a dh and maybe a new toy for ds who is staying home with grandma!!! (he is only 1 and it will be too hot in june for him, plus we are staying offsite so naps would be a pain! I know what kind of parents are we? I hate not taking him but dh says no. )

I spent my half on DD16's BF's birthday who lost his parents recently. He had a great time and I felt better knowing he had a great time! Oh, and I stimulated the economy:lmao:
