Okay, looking at my scrawled notes so far, I see that we need to get to MGM (hopefully!) an hour before it opens and make sure to look for the stormtroopers on top of the turnstiles. Immediately after entering the park, pick up the daily events sheet and go to the registration desk to register for the various Star Wars events. I've also noted that immediately after entering the parks, we're supposed to go directly to the WWTBAM area to get a FastPass for a celebrity autograph. Which one is most urgent, in terms of usual sell-out potential? Also, what are the "wristbands" I've seen mentioned in passing?

THANKS!

This is the first May in several that we haven't been to WDW. We've always liked the Star Wars Weekends. Get your wristbands quickly which allow you to get an autograph of the celebrity. The kids got C3PO two years ago. They go quickly. If you're doing the Trivia Contests you'll have a little more time. There is an adult and kids one. DS won the kids one a couple years ago. The winner in the adult one last year actually had Star Wars tattoos on his arms. :earseek:

I get the impression that if you want to meet and greet with the characters, and also the actual stars you probably want to plan on getting there early. The wrist bands (I think the have done fast passes too) for the actual actors and production team go pretty quick. I'm really there to see the CM's as characters (the pictures from previous years look great) and hopefully the 501st Legion (are they there this year?) I think it's going to be a real buzz, what with the film out the same week and all. It'll probaly be a bit busy, but you'll be able to spot me in my thank you George t-shirt, my DS4 and my very embarassed DH, come say hi! Must find a lime green paint chip at home depot......

Don't forget the special Star Wars parade and the lines to buy the SW merchandise!

It seems like EVERYTHING is "do this first." So I'm lying awake at night trying to figure out what to do first. My kids really want to do Jedi Training and meet all the characters. They're going to want to buy EVERYTHING too. WWTBAM is also a must do for us. :earseek:

Are the CM characters wandering about the park or are there special queing areas for them as well?

Sorry, but what is the WWTBAM? Also, how do we find out what characters will be there on Saturday and/or Sunday. I didn't see much a few weeks ago when I looked it up on the Disney website. Thanks.

WWTBAM is who wants to be a millionaire. The first show or two of the day during the weekend is Star Wars themed. CM characters, I'm not sure if there is an official list but if you go back by the Star Tours ride you will see signs up with who will be there. Also we saw many just walking around 2 years ago. The wrist bands are for the celebrities that will be there and they were across from Indiana Jones and Primetime Cafe by the lake. You get the wristband and then come back and stand in order of your wrist band number later to get your autograph. There was no organization to the standing in line by number except by the fans themselves in the line we were in. So early in the day, no celeb just the wristbands being handed out, later on is when the celebs come so you wait in line again.
The celebs that will be there was on the mgm studios website, I can't remember the exact web address though. Hopefully someone else will. It might be mgmstudio.com, but I'm not sure.

:sad2: How do you sign up for Jedi training? Where do you go first? My son will be devestated if we miss out on this.

We have a party of 3 adults and one teen. One of the adults is going to get a celebrity autograph FP while the other 3 do the Tower of Terror/Rock 'n Roller Coaster thing. We will then see about FP's to the 11:45 WWTBAM show. We will watch the celebrity motorcade and then hang artound Star Tours until we see the Millionaire show. We have lunch PS's at Sci-Fi Dine-In immediately after the Millionaire show and then enjoy the characters by Star Tours. We are not interested in merchandise other than the plush Jedi Mickey , Darth Mickey and T-shirts. If I was a big collector, I would head for the merchandise tables first. This is our strategy for this coming Friday. I hope it works out. Have fun!
