Still Sassy after all this time!

Good morning Sassies!

Becca I will be saying prayers everyday for you til I know you are recovered.

In March we had some scary stuff happen to my family too. Unfortunately I had pnuemonia so most of the burden of it fell on my sister. My mom had been taking care of me until she got really sick and had to go to the ER. They admitted her to the hospital and ran all kinds of tests.

One of the things they found was a mass in her abdomen. We were beside ourselves with worry....it was huge....larger than a softball. Because I had pnuemonia I wasnt allowed to go to the hospital to even see her. I cant remember the last time I was so worried.

After a few more tests they discovered the mass was in her uterus so they decided to do a full hysterectomy. Then they did a biopsy of the mass. I am so thankful they found it to be benign.

Anyway.....the moral of my story is try not to worry and the rest of us will all pray for you:cheer2: And I am sure it will all be fine.

Hey Sassies where is everyone?

Becca I'm thinking of you. Hope you are feeling OK!

So all the kids must be back in school by now. Some are just starting and mine have been in school for five weeks. The kids come home with Interim's (or progress reports) today.

I'm going to Colin's school this morning for a Volunteer Tea. Something the PTA sponsors to let you know all of the events throughout the school year that they need help with. I hope to see lots of people there but it's probably going to be the same people that help out with everything. :confused3

Come back and play.

I am soooo jealous that you guys are going to WWOHP! I totally wanna go! I want to hear all about it!

I, too, am concerned about fitting into FJ. Let me know how it goes!

I've read a couple of threads saying they are starting to adjust some of the seats so larger people can ride. I think it's something to do with the harness?? Anyway, they are going to be doing this to all the seats eventually so maybe there's hope. My BIL just went last month and couldn't fit. :sad2:

Why would they spend all that money on a new ride that can't accommodate everyone?

Good morning sassies!

I went to the Dentist yesterday. Check that off my list for a while.

I just finished watching Big Brother online. I had open house last night for Kendall and missed all but the last 15 minutes. I didn't want to see who won and I enjoyed watching it commercial free today.

Next up is Survivor. Of course I missed that too.

Health update need Becca! How are you?

I can't believe I keep forgetting about the DIS. :sad2: Just goes to show how successful I've been at putting Disney out of my mind, since I've been informed that it will be a looooong time before we're going back. Depressing!

How is everyone? Other than Riley getting a nice stomach bug this week, all is well here. Never-ending quest to fix up house is still ongoing. Cleaning the grout in kitchen tile tonight! Refinishing a couple of tables tomorrow. I love DIY projects!!!

I am now a step-grandma times 2! My step-daughter just had her second baby yesterday morning. Mama and her new son are doing just fine. He is joining his big sis who will be 2 this month. And yes, just like last time, I still think 41 is too young to be called grandma!!! :teeth:

Becca-how are you feeling? Hope all is still OK with you:hug:

Where is everybody? Hope you are all enjoying fall-I know I am!

Hi Sassies! I can't believe I haven't posted for so long. I had surgery last Friday, had to stay overnight because it was bigger than they thought it was. I have a nifty Frankenstein scar with lots of staples running from my ribcage to my bellybutton. It was benign so that is the good news and I'm healing well. I just wish it would have been taken out in April when I first noticed there was a bump!

Congrats Angie! I think 41 is too young to be grandma too. Your trip is coming up so soon. Eat lots for me and I can't wait to hear a report on Harry Potter!

Angie, you are by far too young to be a Grandma! But congratulations (again) nonetheless. Are you getting pumped for your trip?

Becca, I am so glad everything went well & you are healing. Don't over-do it!

All is well here. Just the daily grind of school, soccer, homework, etc... But nothing whatsoever to complain about (other than lack of a Disney trip in the near future).

Only drama of late is having to flush one of our frogs down the toilet. I think the other one was beating him up, holding him down so he couldn't come up for air. It was Frogicide!

Becca-SO glad to hear you're doing well. I'm with Shannon-take it easy for awhile. I know you have lots of friends and family around so take advantage of all the help they offer. How's Speck?

Shannon-my condolences at your family's loss. What a shame to hear about violence and bullying in the frog world. What is this world coming to?

I'm starting to get excited about our trip. I have been perusing all the food porn pics from F&W. Is it wrong to want one of everything? I'm still stressed about fitting on FJ at WWOHP, but even if they won't let me ride I'm still going to go through the queue to see all the cool stuff. I just finished re-reading the whole HP series and am a little depressed. I will seriously miss these characters. :sad1:

Hiya Sassies.......glad to hear you are getting better Becca.

Angie....I have had some HP withdrawals too. Have you read the Percy Jackson series? The book was much better than the movie. I have read all 5 and now am thinking about reading the next series that author has started. They dont take near as long to read as the HP books but they were entertaining.

Shannon....gotta watch those frogs. Maybe you should make them do yardwork or something to work off any aggression they might be feeling. Hey! if they do yardwork send them my way....my yard definitely needs some help.:rolleyes1

Come back and post Sassies:flower3:

Hey, Sassies! I am at work, getting things ready for the class party later. Now that I teach Kindergarten, I have a computer at my desk and just realized I could sneak in a little DISing!

How are you guys? Is everyone ready for Halloween? Today the teachers all have to dress as a crayon (colored T-shirt and matching colored party hat). I am blue.

I am single again and back living in VA. I am happy to be back.

I am thinking of taking my girls on a quick trip to WDW...I'd have to save up first though. Only thing is, it's tricky to plan it once Christmas hits, because it seems like there are a lot of holiday weekends and things and the crowds start to hit. Me no likey crowds. I probably wouldn't be able to save enough until Spring, and it gets pretty crowded then, doesn't it?

Howdy! I see our thread is dead again. :sad1: We had a great time on our F&W/Harry Potter trip. I am happy to report that I fit on Forbidden Journey! They didn't even have me try a test seat. I knew that the modified seats were on the ends, so I just took an end seat every time. That is one intense ride! You're moving all over, loud sounds, steam, water, motion simulation. But it is AWESOME!

I wasn't overly thrilled with WWoHP, but I knew what to expect. It was VERY crowded. There are only 4 stores: Honeydukes & Zonkos is together; Dervish & Banges (we had to wait in line to get in this store, and the wand section was so packed you couldn't move) and Filch's Emporium. There is also Ollivanders, but that is where they do the wand show and the line was ridiculous. You can buy wands at D&B's and at a kiosk by FJ, also. They need more shopping and bigger stores. I wanted a Marauders Map so bad but they were $50! For a piece of parchment paper! I just couldn't pay that much.

Butterbeer is delish! We had the regular unfrozen version. The tip to go into the Hog's Head bar and buy your butterbeer there is a great one. The lines for the outside butterbeer kiosks were crazy long. There wasn't any line in the bar. We ate lunch at the Three Broomsticks. We had fish & chips, and it was good. Don't forget to go in the bathroom to hear Moaning Myrtle!

WDW was really crowded. Much more so than when we went this time of year before. We waited in line 70 minutes for Toy Story Mania because the fast pass return time was after we had to leave for the airport. I really wish WDW would work on their counter service restaurants. They are pretty lousy. We tried Chefs de France for the first time, and had a really bad meal. But we loved F&W.

We probably won't go this time of year again because it's just getting more & more crowded every year. We ate off property a lot more this time, and the food was better and of course cheaper.

So there's my quicky trip report. We really did have fun, just some complaints about the food and the crowds.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wow, Angie! Awesome report! I am soooo jealous of your trip! I REALLY want to go to WWOHP. I had no idea that the end seats of FJ were modified. See, you taught me something! I hope I can fit on them! It would suck to finally get to go to WWOHP after years of waiting for it, and not fit on the ride. :(

I am going to work during winter break and earn extra money and hopefully at least put a down payment on a quick trip.

Angus, you said it was crowded, which day of the week did you to WWOHP?

We went Sunday and Tuesday. Sunday was less crowded. I had been following the Harry Potter Crowd Report thread on the Universal forum, and they kept saying Sundays were slower. It was still busy, but we went right to FJ and only waited in line about 10 minutes which was fine because you want to see all the cool Hogwarts stuff that's in the queue. Tuesday we went right to FJ and it was a 40 or 50 minute wait. We did single rider and got right on (but you miss all the castle stuff). I'm SURE you will fit on FJ. There are reports of 300 plus pound people riding it now.

Thanks for the report Angie! We are going next August, we have never been to Universal before. Do you think 3 days is enough for both parks? We'll have the "hopping" tickets. It shouldn't be super busy since a lot of kids will be back in school when we go.

Happy December Sassies! We are getting our first stick to the ground snow today and I can honestly say YUCK!!

3 days is plenty! Honestly, we had a tough time filling 2 days there. But we didn't do any rides where you get wet because it was a little chilly. And we skipped some rides that we've done before and didn't enjoy the first trip a few years ago. It's a different experience than WDW, but still fun. And you'll LOVE WWoHP!!

Hello my long lost friends!

Angie, your trip sounds good, despite the crowds! I am in a serious Disney-deprived funk. Haven't been since our Sassy trip! :sad2: A travesty I tell ya.

I think Ryan & the boys would love Universal. I'm going to try that tactic to get us back to the World!

Is everyone ready for Christmas? I had the nasty stomach bug Sunday/Monday which put me a little behind, but shouldn't be a problem.
