Good Morning Sassies.

Requesting a few prayers this morning. My Dad is having knee replacement surgery in about an hour. He is scheduled for 7 AM so as soon as the kids leave for school I'll be heading to the hospital.

Are all you ladies on facebook? I still haven't opened an account or logged on or whatever you call it. I have a friend that keeps bugging me to do that and honestly I haven't really given it much thought. But maybe...

You should give FB a try. I think it's a fantastic way to keep in touch with family & friends you wouldn't necessarily call often, but still wonder how they are doing. I love it!

I'm glad Joey did so well at the dentist. If your fear is that great you did the right thing Heather, you don't to pass it on to him. Sounds like his school year is starting out good too!

Tricia, prayers said. My mother in law had her knee replaced last winter and I can't believe how fast her recovery time was. I mean she's no spring chicken and she was practically dancing out of the hospital!

Shannon, Cincinnati is okay. Their downtown traffic could take a lesson from some other big cities though! We love the zoo and its worth the traffic to see it and the scary part of town its in! Did Dayton have the huge glass wall on the side of the highway when you lived there? I must say the way the headlights glare off that thing is scary! Have a great beach vacay!

Angie, yeah for new tile! Boo for being stuck in your room all day! I love hard surfaces on most of my floor now. Eventually, the rest will be replaced except the basement since its so cold down there and not a lot of dirt gets tracked down. Just dust!

Hey everyone I'm back from the hospital. My dad had a partial knee replacement in both knees. Everything went well and they are getting him up and walking this evening. His only concern is when can he play golf again. He's retired and plays three to four days a week. I guess that helps to keep him young.

Anyone watch Big Brother? I need to watch last nights episode before tonight's comes on. Colin had Open House at his school and I had to miss it.

So glad your dad's surgery went well Tricia! Wow-both knees at once! I would have thought they would do one at a time.

I've been watching BB, but this season is pretty boring. I'm glad that sleazy Rachel is gone-YUCK! And I can't stand Brendon since he hooked up with her. I really don't care who wins. I guess my fave right now is Lane. I like Brittany, but the mean things she says behind everyone's back really turns me off. I always have to DVR the shows so I haven't seen last night's episode yet, either.

Top Chef has been pretty lame this season, too. The cheftestants just aren't anywhere near as good as usual.

What great news about your dad Tricia! Most dr. here won't do both knees at the same time. I would rather have it done that way if it was me though!

Angie, I agree Top Chef has been most disappointing this season. I'm glad Amanda is gone, but I have no one I like that much. I guess I want Tiffany to win. She seems genuine and actually helps the others out when she can. I can't stand Angelo and really don't want him to win.

Hiya Sassies...in spite of my fear of being banned from this thread I have to admit I am not a facebook or big brother person I watched the first season of BB and that was it. I used to enjoy Survivor but havent seen much of the last few seasons. I did watch a full episode of bridezillas *blush* . Some of those women are downright crazy...lol.



a banana chorus line Sorry...I dont have much else to add. Gotta go wait for Joey's bus in a minute. I can see the bus stop from the shade in my driveway but it is several houses away. It was so hot yesterday I toyed with the idea of staying in the shade and waving to joey as he got off the bus. However, I made myself walk into the sun to the stop....and was very glad I did. Joey didnt get off the bus the bus driver saw me standing there and asked who I was waiting for and I told her. She said oh...he's on the bus and made him get off Wonder where he thought he was going to go. Good thing I was standing out there

Glad your dad did ok with his surgery Hope he fully recovers soon

Hey Sassies! It's my night to stay late at work. I am a TA for an elementary school Pre-K. Sucks to be a TA when I'm so used to being a lead, but it's not bad; I really love my coteachers! We offer extended care if anyone needs it, and we all take turns staying late on the nights that someone does. I only have one student right now, so I'm goofing around while he plays in the rice table.

How is everyone?

I saw that Tricia mentioned Big Brother. Me! Me! I watch that show! At first, I liked Rachael, and was rooting for her and Brendan, but she turned into the biggest wench! That argument between her and Ragan was AWESOME! He was cracking me up! She totally had it coming, too, cause she went outside and up to him with the intention of starting something with him. Now I kinda hope either Lane or Britney win. I think Britney is a brat, and I didn't like her in the beginning, but now I kind of do.

Tricia, both knees and up already, That's great. Bec, same here, one knee per year. Did ya see the skinny houses in Cincy? Those use to crack me up when I was a kid.

Angie I can send some cold weather your way, already getting into the 40's at night. Tile picture please.

Judi-- joey did great at the dentist. He didnt want to go to school today though. I guess the Monday morning blues starts very young.


I have been trip planning.....nothing terribly serious yet but we are getting closer to booking. We we going to take my mom..she hasnt been since 1986!! She thinks I am crazy cuz its about all I want to talk about and I keep changing my mind about things. I am pretty sure we are going to stay at least part of our trip in a value resort. Mom likes all the oversize props they have there. She says it looks like alot of fun. I would like to stay part of the time in a moderate but the theming is lower key there and I am not sure mom would like it as much.

Hey Sassies!

Happy Monday morning. It started raining here on Friday and rained all day Saturday and Sunday too. It was nice to see the sun peaking out this morning. We have a lot of drying out to do.

Heather I've stayed at many of the resorts but have to say that Colin's favorite is POP. I think part of the reason was the Icee machine they had (it's now gone) in the food court but for a kid the theme it can't be beat. I always second guess myself. I get all set on staying at "X" then read something on the resort board and start my search all over again. When are yall thinking of going?

Was that Bonnie that made an appearance? How are things?

Well, things are not great. I'm not really happy about this relationship I am in and thinking about leaving. But I'm not sure yet what I'll be doing. I'm gonna have a big talk with him tonight. I wish I were rich and could do whatever I needed to do and not have to rely on other people in order to raise my girls.

I wish I were going to WDW! And I really wanna go to Wizarding World of Harry Potter! *Sigh* Someday...


I'll have to live vicariously through you girls for now!

Hey Sassies!!

We are thinking about going next year....around Thanksgiving or Christmas. I am going to pull the kids out of school ( but shhhhhh...dont tell ppl on the Dis or they will call me a terrible parent ) We are most likely going to stay at a value since we need 2 rooms but I also was thinking of getting a mod....especiallyif i can get a discount to make it about the same as a value. I think my mom really wants the theming of the values though.

Hopefully we will go long enough we can go to Universal too.

Mom and I took Kate to the dentist today. She didnt have any cavities but has to get braces. I think I will put off the orthodontist visit until October. Depending on how much they are going to cost and what kind of payments I have to make, my Disney trip might be postponed until spring of 2012. I will have to wait and see how it goes.

Hi Sassies! I've been on a crazy ride and I'm really ready to get off, but not yet apparently. I could use some prayers if you can spare some. I'll update tomorrow after I see the dr.

Heather, my boys liked Pop. That is the only value we have stayed at. It was fine and much better than I anticipated. Next year we are staying 2 weeks at Caribbean Beach, I think I may change to POR since we love it there. I really want to try CBR though and the pool looks awesome!

Judi, its almost sock weather! Well, at least for most people it is. I bought the boys some moccasins whilst visting the UP. I thought of you while trying them on.

Bonnie, sorry it isn't working out for you. You deserve everything so much more! Want to meet at my favorite winery and drown your sorrows?

Tricia, how is Kelsie adjusting to college life? How are you adjusting to college life?

POP has a really big following. I showed mom the pictures and she is torn between Pop and Movies. I kinda like the big dalmations and buzz lightyear but I am afraid of getting int he mightyducks section.

Becca-prayers and hugs sent your way. But I'm with Heather-worrying until you update us and keeping my fingers crossed that everything is OK. How's Brian's health after his scare?

Bonnie-hugs to you, too. You SO deserve to be happy. I wish there was something I could do to help. I still have the same cell phone # if you ever want to talk. We're going to Harry Potter World and Food & Wine in November. Now I have to stress if I'm too fat to ride Forbidden Journey.

Tricia-I HATE when that happens. Send some of that rain our way, would ya?

Heather-I think the amount orthodontists charge is highway robbery! I think when I had braces it cost like $2000-$2500 and that was over 20 years ago.

Bonnie I'm so sorry that things aren't working out for you. I hope the "talk" went well last night. How are the girls liking the new area?

Judi it's hard for me to believe that it's already sock weather by you. We are still so hot and humid down here. It will definitely be a few more months until we get the nice chill in the air.

Angie November is such a nice time of year to visit Disney. I've been for Thanksgiving a couple of times and the weather is great.

Heather I agree with Angie on how much the Orthodontists charge. Both my girls are out of braces (Kendall still has a retainer) but Colin hasn't started yet. I'm trying to put that off for another year.

Okay back from the dr. I have a large lipoma in my abdomen, swollen lymphnodes in my abdomen, my spleen is enlarged and I have higher than normal liver enzymes. I will be seeing a surgeon about the lipoma and a gastro guy about my liver and lymphnode since its on my esophagus. I've been feeling like dookey for awhile and I had a CT scan last Friday. So far the news isn't bad! I just want answers and I want to feel good again.

Heather, I took my boys out of school for Disney in the past too. I know some people frown on it, but I'm of the thinking that they are my kids!

Angie, I'm worried about Forbidden Journey too. I'll be anxiously awaiting your report about it!
