Hi Sassies TGIF. Well it's official..........I am now the proud mother of a college kid. I'm just getting home, it's been a long and emotional 13 hours today. Kelsie is all settled in and her apt. looks great. Of course the tears flooded when it was time to say goodbye but I realize this is just another one of those little growing up moments. I told myself I wasn't going to be the first one to call her. I wanted to give her space or freedom and see just how long it took her to call or text me. Well she called me before I even made it back home to tell me she met her next door neighbors.....3 guys. Oh and to tell me she loved me.

Judi so sorry I can't help you out with the cat issues. I've never owned a cat before and if they come with mice it's a no go for me.

Becca what is Turkeyville?

Well we made it through one whole week of school. Colin had two tests today and Kendall hasn't had any yet. So far so good. No complaining..................yet!

Greetings from hot and sweaty AZ! Hope you all had a good weekend!

to you Tricia! You must be so proud of Kelsie, but also so sad this time has come! At least you still have 2 more left at home. 2 tests the first week of school? Wow!

Nothing exciting happening with me. We're having some new tile installed in our living room-bye bye filthy carpet (why do my dogs hate my carpet so much??). We have a great room-kitchen, dining and living rooms are one big room. All of it is tile except for the living room section. DH just HAD to have carpet so he could lay on the floor and watch TV or play with the dogs. Well of course the tile we have is discontinued, so I picked a complimentary color and am installing a tile border between the 2 tiles. I hope it looks OK. I'm pretty nervous about it. I've found some pictures of 2 tiles together separated by a border and it looked OK, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. So I'm taking Friday off to be home with the installer. An extra day off from Gertie is always a good thing.

Judi-I would take the cat off your hands but I think the dogs might think she was breakfast. Like Becca's Speck my dogs end up killing small cute critters.

Angie----I am not a big fan of carpet either. I cant wait for the day we are able to redo all of ours....of course it wont be til after my next disney trip

My party was lots of fun...was very small though. I am such a hermit I really dont have many friends. Plus, I am kinda afraid to invite everyone I do know cuz what if they all show up? It was a spa and beauty party....we had facials and soaked our feet I bought some sea salt body scrub that makes my skin feel so soft and smooth . It's expensive but worth every penny.




I had to make Joey a dentist appointment. He will be going tomorrow. I have a really terrible phobia about dentists....so much so that my mom is going to take him. She watched him today so I could go to the office to make the appointment and fill out his paperwork. It was horrible.....I cried and couldnt breathe. It isnt even my appointment but just going to the office upset me so much. Its crazy. To make matters worse I KNOW he has cavities I'm a terrible mom sometimes.

Heather good luck to Joey at the Dentist today. I'm sure he'll do fine. That reminds me that I have to make an appointment for myself. I'm over due for a cleaning and put it off all summer. Now with the kids back in school I have no more excuses.

Where have all the sassies gone? Good morning and happy Tuesday. I'm going to work the Spirit shop at Kendall's school today. Selling sweatshirts, tshirts and all the school items they can put a school name on and sell. Today is my first day working at the High School. I hope the kids aren't too scary.

Joey did great at the dentist. He does have a couple of cavities but it wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be. He is having the work done on Friday.

Morning Sassies!!

My mom is going to go on Friday morning. I am going to go too but she goes back to the room with him and I wait in the waiting area in case there are any issues. But I get really upset at the dentist and I dont want to pass that fear to my kids. Rationally I know they are not going to hurt him....the dentist is really really nice, but I cant seem to control my reaction Its really crazy and I hate it but I dont know how to get over it


Tonight is open house so I get to meet Joey's teacher and school starts on MONDAY.....WOOHOOOO

Joey is all done at the dentist until his next cleaning..yay and he went to meet his teacher this morning. She seems really nice and I am hopeful we will have a much better experience this time around.

he is however a little put out with me cuz I insist on taking him to school the first day and he wants to ride the bus. I told him he can ride the bus home and to school on Tuesday but Monday I would like to take him My baby is really growing up

Hi Sassies! We are in Cincinnati, we went to the zoo today and Ikea. I have never been to an Ikea store and it was amazing! I was so overwhelmed that I didn't get much. I'm glad there isn't one too close to home. Have a great weekend Sassy bunch!

Becca I've never been to an Ikea either. I wonder if they are in certain parts of the country only. Come to think of it I've never been to a staples or Costco. We have Office Depot and Sams Club instead.

2 more days til school and hopefully only 2 more months til the weather gets at least a little cooler. I am ready for fall stuff........I cant wait for the pumpkin patch/cornfield maze to open, and halloween, and thanksgiving....and Christmas

Morning to all in Sassyland!

Heather I'm with you-I'm ready for the cooler weather. We've been under an oppressive heat warning for yesterday through tomorrow. 112 and high humidity-YUCK! I hate monsoon season.

Tricia-is your Kohl's open yet?

We have an Ikea here, but it's all the way on the other side of town. I've never been to it. I know everybody loves it.

We had our tile installed Friday, and it looks really good. But being locked up in the bedroom all day (8:30 to almost 7:30!!) with 2 dogs wasn't very fun. I had TV, books and my computer but I was so ready to get out of that room!

Hiya Sassies!!

Joey and Kate did great at school...both seem really happy. It is still a little early to tell but I think Joey is having a much better start. He is sitting on the bus like he is supposed to and so far (ok so it has only been 2 days) hasnt had any bad marks. He was also cheerful getting ready for school and was excited to ride the bus. I am crossing my fingers that lasts. He has changed so much over the last year.

Hello Sassies! Hope everyone had a satisfactory Hump Day. Y'all need to email/facebook me & remind me to come over here! I haven't DISed in so long I keep forgetting about it!

Busy day gearing up for our beach trip. Oil changed, car washed, packing, laundry. And the dreaded cleaning of the fridge. As much as I try, there are always a few science experiments lurking in the veggie crisper!

Good luck with the tile Angie! I am sure it will look great. I am all for a carpetless home. Aside from a few rugs, I hope to be there one day. Impossible to keep clean, and with Riley the Allergy boy... not healthy.

What did you think of Cincy Bex? I grew up in Dayton, so was frequently in Cincy. Love it! Skyline Chili... Mmmmm! And I love IKEA. I lived 5 minutes from one in Woodbridge. Now that it's an hour & a half away, I've only been twice since we moved.

Heather, stop worrying! You are obviously a good mom. We all have our strengths & weaknesses. Fear of the dentist is nothing new. Lots of people who feel the same out there!
