Still Sassy after all this time!

Hey Sassies! I'm in full pack and clean mode. Plus my garden doesn't seem to realize that its almost time for me to leave because its producing veggies like crazy so I have been canning almost everyday too. I need a vacation!

Hola, Sassies! It's good to see some Sassy posting! It's been busy busy around here - school starts next week and I am scrambling to pack as much fun into the summer as possible in the last few days. We didn't take a big vacation this summer because of our October cruise, but I've missed getting away from things around here. I need a change of scene, but I'm going to have to wait!

Heather! It's good to see you! You didn't kill the thread - it's been slow around here. I can't believe Joey is going to school. Our little Sassy baby is growing up! Are you working outside of the home now?

Becca - Hooray for your trip! I am sure Speck will take good care of the garden for you. Chet will help, and they will run their own roadside veggie stand while you are away.:thumbsup2 Yes, my sentence for feeding a bucket to a camel has been suspended by the wildlife police - lucky for me. First offender, you know.

Bonnie - I am glad you are feeling better, and that Brent is too. I had never heard of dry socket before - it sounds awful! I'm still teaching the 2 year olds, it's true. We start school on the 8th, and teacher week begins the week before that. I'm excited to meet my new class!

Tricia - Are you all settled into a school routine?

Angie - It's good to see you on Facebook! Keep coming around, okay? I miss you!

Shannon - Hope you are having fun in Niagara!

Judi - I miss you! Come and post and update us, okay?:flower3:

Gotta run! See you all on the flip side!

Good Morning Sassies.

Heather It's hard to believe that little Joey is in school this year. Has it started there yet? We are heading into our third week come Monday. Surprisingly all my kids got right back into the routine of things. It sure was nice sleeping a little later this morning.

Becca I didn't realize that your Disney trip was so close. Six days.......wow! So when does school start for you guys? Are you going the week right before it opens or taking them out?

Wilma is your cruise in October a Disney cruise? I've only been on one cruise and loved it. Strangely Mark was on the same cruise and he doesn't want to go back. :sad2:

Angie how's the weather in Arizona? We've been having lots of rain which helps to cool things off a bit. I'm so ready for fall.

It was nice to see Grumpy Pirate pop back in to our little thread. There's hope yet that we'll keep it going. :thumbsup2

Hi Judi. How's the summer going? Is Cole excited about starting High School this year?

Bonnie I hope you're feeling better.

Shannon I hope the vacation is going well.

Have a great weekend!!!!!

Good morning Sassies....How is everyone today?

Joey starts school tomorrow. I am about to have to get off the computer and get ready for meet the teacher today. Some moments he wants to go and seems excited and other moments he tells me he doesnt want to get bigger and jsut wants to stay with me.

I havent started work outside the home yet.....there is still so much for me to do here. My house is going to get a makeover........Spring cleaning starts now (yep..I know its summer;)) Then I am thinking I need a makeover. My hair has gotten really long and I think I need a new do:scared1:

Good morning, Sassies! I'm driving by to post and run - I have to meet with one of my co-teachers to do some planning. I dropped Barney off this morning to embark on his Adventures in Seventh Grade (formerly known as "How can I convince people these are not my parents and what IS that I smell?"). Then I took BamBam out to breakfast for a little "mom and little guy time".

Wally is dangerously close to earning himself an Anti Barking Collar. He's becoming a neighborhood pest!

Heather, it's good to hear from you again. Tricia, can your kids give lessons to mine in ways to enter into the school routine painlessly? They are going to need it!

Arrivederci, Sassies!

Good morning! Hope you all had great weekends. I was totally lazy this weekend - the only thing we did was go out to a new Mexican restaurant Saturday night. Not too good for the diet, but very tasty! :thumbsup2

We had a huge monsoon storm Friday night. The rain was literally coming down in sheets and the wind was slamming it into the windows. Pretty scary. We have trees down all over the neighborhood. Luckily, all of ours survived.

Have a fantastic Monday sassies! :flower3:

Wow Angie that weather seems scary. I'm glad you were safe. Speaking of weather we are having some low humidity and temps in the 80's. :woohoo: It feels so nice outside, especially when it's usually high 90's and 90% humidity. I think fall is coming.

I think part of why my kids eased into school this year is that Kelsie is a Senior and so excited about that. Kendall is in 8th grade (Jr. High) so she's the big dog there. Colin was the only one not overly excited about school because he was starting Middle School and the whole changing schools had him a little worried. It all worked out well and we are in the 3rd week of school now.

I'll be heading to Barnes & Noble today because Kelsie needs a book called Speak for her English class.

I think I forgot to say good morning to all the sassies. So, good morning

Good evening Ladies and GentlePirate.

First of all, HELLO HEATHER! Long time no see! I hope Joey's first year at school goes well! It's a big year for us too. Riley starts kindergarten & Reece heads for middle school. Where do the years go?:confused3

We had a blast in Niagara and camping. We had a few raccoon issues, but that was more amusing than anything. They wandered right up to us at our campfire like they knew us. A bit freaky! Night two, Ryan went to, um, water some plants in the woods when he realized he had a beady-eyed viewer. :rotfl: Several minutes later as we were lying down in the tent the raccoon had fun on our picnic table with our can of Off.

I shall post a few pictures now, and in my next few posts.

First and foremost, this is a long-overdue pic of the front of my house.

Have to upload some more from inside. I'm 99% finished with Riley's room-- still need to acquire a few pirate-y accessories.

Good Evening

Shannon, Beautiful house. I love the upper porch. Mr. Judi wants the gargage (must be a man thing  )

Wow, Riley and Joey starting school. Time just flies, doesn't it.

Have a great week everyone!

Good Morning Sassies. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Shannon your house is beautiful!!!! Are things starting to fall into place with the new house? I love the pictures from Niagara Falls. We went there about 8 years ago. Did you happen to do the Maid of the Mist tour? I loved that one.

So, is this the last week of summer vacation for all you northerners? What's on the agenda to end summer on a high note? Does school start on Tuesday or Wednesday?

This past Friday night was the first of the High School football games. Kendall has her first game tomorrow night as captain of the Cheerleaders (Jr. High). The only difference from last year is she'll be the one leading the cheers. I have to remember to bring the video camera. I like to tape some of the first game and again on the last game to see how they have improved and to see the nerves disappear.

Have a great day and Judi it was so nice to see you stop by. How's Cole doing?

Happy Monday sassies!!

Shannon-your house is gorgeous!! Your trip pics are great. I'm glad you guys had fun. Um, I see flip flops-where are your cloven hoof socks? ;)

Yay! A Judi post!! Come around more often lady-we miss you!

Tricia-I can't believe it's football season already. Although I'm THRILLED 'cuz that means cooler weather will be here soon. Have you cooled off at all yet?

Bex must be at WDW now. Hope she's having fun.

Good morning Sassies..............How is everyone today?:wizard::banana:

Kate is loving Jr High I think....at least she isnt giving me a hard time about going.:goodvibes

Joey on the other hand is having a very difficult transistion. I have a conference with the teacher today. I think they are going to try to tell me he isnt ready for Kindergarten. He keeps getting in trouble...not following the rules.....getting out of line in the hall. He has to be reminded still of the morning routine of putting his lunch away and hanging his backpack on his chair.

The teacher called me to talk to me last week too. She said when she is talking to him after timeout that he cant tell her what he did wrong to get in timeout in the first place. And she said that he gives her a blank stare so she isnt sure what he understands or doesnt understand.:sad2: She seems to be a great teacher so far but I am not sure what to tell her or how to help her help Joey.

He is very young......he just turned 5 in July so he is the youngest in his class. We also were not in any sort of preschool program. I know he cant write all his letters and stuff yet but he does know alot of the things he needs for Kindergarten. He can recognize almost all the letters in the alphabet and his numbers, shapes, colors so it isnt that he isnt smart enough.....he just isnt mature enough maybe.

I have the meeting today at 930. The teacher was going to give him the test they use to screen kindergartners for readiness to start school. I will just wait to see what the test shows and what the school says. I dont want to pull him out but maybe a half-day pre-K program would be the best thing for him:confused3 I'm confused and dont know what to do. I will keep you posted and let you know.

Shannon your house is beautiful. I love the little balcony up top.:yay:

Oh Heather I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Two of my three were born in December so I had just the opposite of you with mine being one of the oldest in the class. It does sound like he just might not be ready for a full day yet. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

I am pulling my son from kindergarten:sad1:

I had a meeting with the teacher today and he just isnt ready. They cant make me take him out but I dont see the point in subjecting him to it. He was in the principals office today. he isnt understanding things like he needs to. We ahve an appointment for an evaluation with the pediatrician to be sure nothing is wrong.....I am leaving towards he is just immature but that might be jsut because I am his mother and dont want anything to be wrong with my baby.:guilty:

Tomorrow I will research the preschool programs and see if I can find one that fits my budget(which is very tight at them moment):sad2:

I am having a really hard time with this......I feel like I have failed in some way to teach him the things he needs to know:sad1::sad1:

Heather

Some children are just not ready. Up here we offer a early fives program, so it is not just Joey.

As a Mom, you are not a failure, just a Mom looking for that magic child rearing book.

When you find it please share with the rest of the Mom class here.

See if Texas has a head start program, may be just what Joey needs.:grouphug:

Judi I've missed our Hump Day pictures. :thumbsup2

We have an Albertsons opening up today. I know it's a chain store but new to our area. Anyone shop their regularly? I might have to go check it out today.

Good morning!

Heather-don't feel guilty. I'm sure Joey's fine, he just needs another year. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with that.

Tricia-I shop at Albertsons. But I only buy stuff that's on sale. Walmart is SO much cheaper here that I do all my shopping there (and they even price match most things), but I will go to Albertsons if there's a good sale on something that Walmart doesn't carry or won't price match.

get one of the albertsons "shopper" cards and you get all kinds of discounts.

we go there for stuff that Trader Joes dosn't have.

Well Tricia

Down on the farm has no Albertsons, shocked I know.

Fill me in groceries, clothes etc? 2 buck chuck?
