Still Sassy after all this time!

I think we either have a new lurker and someone who's trying to get their post count up.

Howdy sassies! How's your Saturday going? We are just getting back from Colin's baseball game. They lost in the last inning 3-2.

Oh we want to see UP also. I'll take any scoop you've got on it. Remind me if you liked it or not.

Hi Sassies! We went to see UP today. I really loved it although I was crying in a few places. Didn't expect that at all. Didn't effect the boys at all. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.

Hope you all have a happy weekend! Off to watch the Red Wings hopefully win.

Hi guys! Just got back from Red Robin-I just love their burgers.

Tricia~Up is the story of a man whose wife has just died. His remembrances of her and his regret that she didn't get to do all she wanted before she died is what makes it so sad. I had to try really hard not to cry. But it was also really funny.

Wilma~I PM'd you, but I basically said the same thing as above. I would probably skip it right now.

Becca~a belated Happy Anniversary! Yay for the 'Wings winning last night!!

I'm off to do some :laundy:

FOP family, I'm so sorry

Good Morning Sassies. I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. We spent a good part of it at the ball park. Colin's season is coming to an end in about a week or two. While I'm sure in some places baseball is just getting started. It's just too hot down here so our baseball season is Spring not Summer.

Was that a Judi sighting? :yay: Where have you been my friend?

Becca did the Red Wings win?

Angie we don't have a Red Robin around here. Is that just a burger place or other stuff too?

Wilma how did camp send off go? Will Barney get to talk to you at all during the week? I hope he has fun.

Bonnie so sorry you were sick again. Wow that strep really can knock you out. How are the girls? Is it summer yet for them?

Shannon how's the house packing coming?

Mel how was your weekend?

Man it feels like a long time since I talked to you hags! I got really sick again with Strep Throat and Bronchitis at the same time! I took my full course of antibiotics (the 5-day Z-pack) but I am nowhere near back to normal yet. I can't believe I got Strep a second time, but I am not the only one. Nearly everyone in my class (including my assistant) who got Strep the first time, got it again. So I'm not sure if it was a new strain, or if we never got completely over it the first time.

I'm still seeing Joe, he's coming here next weekend for three days. We are getting along well, but we have both been so busy, it's been hard to find time to schedule a visit. It will have been six weeks since he was here last, so we are about due for a visit!
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon.

Glad still are still going with Joe :) Have fun next week!

I am getting ready for my inlaws to visit for the night and to send Barney off to camp tomorrow. He's attending a swim camp at UVA, sleeping in the dorms. They eat, sleep and breathe swimming for 6 days with other like-minded kids. I hope he likes it - he's done several sleep away camps before but none that are this focused.

Wally has developed a preference for sleeping on his back with his front legs in the air and his back legs spread apart. I think he's just proud of his new appendages. Neuter countdown - 9 days!
That sounds like a fun camp for Barney! I hope he likes it too.

Haha about Wally. Gaston still sleeps like that. He gets right next to me, points his face towards me on my pillow and spreads his legs out and tries to kick Shaun out of bed.

Good Morning Sassies.

Well I got the news that I was expecting yesterday............they couldn't recover my pictures. :guilty: So here's my tip of the day for all of you. Never try to fool with your camera in the dark. I will post some of my sisters pictures when I get them.
I"m sorry the pictures weren't able to be recovered.

I want to see Up. I keep hearing good things about it.

Hi guys! Just got back from Red Robin-I just love their burgers.
I love Red Robin! I miss it as we don't have one near us anymore :(

How did his team do?

My weekend was ok. We bought a new couch. Cleaned. Saw Land of the Lost which was ok.

Saw Land of the Lost which was ok.

I remember watching that on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. I'll probably take the kids to see it but really didn't think it was going to be too great a movie. More like memories of my childhood but hey who doesn't love good movie theater popcorn so I'll sacrifice. :lmao:

Good morning, Sassies! Barney called from his room last night and seemed to be having a good time. He'd done a time trial for his 200 IM and was happy with it and liked his coach. I forgot to ask about the food, but if I know Barney, he will eat anything if he's hungry enough so I don't worry about that.

BamBam and I went berry picking this morning and now have 4 pints each of blueberries and raspberries. Blueberry crisp is the order of the day. Yum! Judi and Becca, how long does it take for the berries to ripen up there in the frozen North land?

Tricia - I used to watch Land of the Lost too! They have been rerunning the shows on the Sci Fi channel lately and I catch them once in while and think "what in the world did I see in this show?" The Slestacks are icky.:scared:

Mel - Wally send a happy "woof" (or six) to Gaston!

Angie - thanks for the Up info- I hate to be blindsided in the theater!

Hi Bonnie, Shannon, Julie, et al! Have a great day!

Shwew!!:scared: This packing thing is a lot worse than I had anticipated!

Wilma, I'm so sorry about Mr. FoP's Granny. How does he seem to be taking it? And I heard from another friend today that UP is incredibly sad. She said her kids didn't seem to notice the more depressing story lines, but she & her DH left the theater "in a funk." Probably not what you need right now, eh?

As for Wally's overly-amorous behavior...:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: That reminds me of the scene in Marley & Me, where Marley is banned from obedience school. Good stuff!:thumbsup2

Oh, and I prefer my blueberry crisp a la mode. Thanks!;)

JUDI!!! Good to see ya lady! What have you been up to lately?

Toots-- Ack! Strep again?!?!?! You need to wear one of those sexy surgical masks. I think you'll have to up the eye makeup to compensate for no mouth though... I hope you feel better before Joe gets here!

Bex--Floor pics yet? And how on Earth did you clean that phone? I think I would've burned it!!!

Angus-- I love Red Robin!!! How is life with MIL these days? Do you see a lot of her? How's Gertie?

Tricia-- Losing your pictures is beyond depressing! I would've cried! Sadly, it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to do.

Meli-- loved your pics on facebook! Looks like good times! And no, you're not a nerd. At least, not nerdier than any of us! LOL

Mr. FofP seems to be taking it well - I think there is a sense of relief that she did not have to endure radiation treatment. None of us could imagine how she would get through that. We go up to Md. for a memorial service this weekend, but the family wants the interment to wait until mid July. She's to be buried in a cemetery on Long Island and, ironically, her husband's funeral was held on July 12 some 18 years ago. So, they would like to lay her ashes to rest on July 12 of this year. The kids will come with us for the memorial service but not for the interment.

Wally has been on his best behavior lately. I think he knows that his day camp future is in jeopardy if he can't control his urges! Neuter countdown - 8 days!

I am becoming a facebook addict. Someone help me!

Good Morning Sassies.

Two of my three have dentist/ortho appointments this morning. We are going to the mall after so in my opinion it's worth the trip.

I'll check back in later this afternoon.

Hi Sassies! My boys have 1-1/2 days of school left and its all fun and games. Today is the family picnic and tomorrow is the talent show. Somehow Justin was not chosen for his rendition of Jingle Bells using his hand in his armpit.:confused3

Shannon, the phone is in the garbage. I snatched it out with my gloved hand and sent it on its way. Now I need to try to find a handset to match the set. I would have helped you pack, its unpacking I find overwhelming. I'm always excited to move until I get there.

Wilma, I was a facebook addict too. I think I have kicked the habit and can safely go to facebook without spending too much time now. I can't believe you have picked blueberries and raspberries already! It won't be until around the 4th of July for our raspberries and blueberries are usually the end of July. Good thing too, I just used the last package of blueberries to make pancakes last weekend. We usually freeze 30 pounds. Can't beat fresh picked!

Judi, I can't imagine how cold you are still. We have been in the 40s at night and barely reaching 70 during the day if we are lucky. Don't put away your boots.

Bonnie, where the heck are you?

Angie, I love Red Robin burgers too. We don't go very much since they are way on the other side of town. How's Gertie? Is she behaving herself?

Tricia, I loved Land of the Lost when I was a kid and then I watched some this weekend and wondered what the heck was I thinking? I still like Chaka though.

Meli, I love new furniture! It just makes the house seem so much better.

Brian has bestowed upon me an orchid as an anniversary gift. I know he loves them and so do I, but I fear he has sentenced this poor plant to death. I have tried to grow orchids, but have never had any luck. I have no problems with other plants just orchids.:confused3

Good morning, Sassies!

Becca - I never imagined that Michigan would be a place you could grow orchids. I think you get a pass on this one if you kill it - it's unnatural for an orchid to stay alive in such a chilly place! Wally just "woofed", which I can only imagine is for Speck's benefit. Woof, woof!

Tricia - three kids at the ortho? Ouch! Will there be anything left to spend at the mall?;)

Shannon - what is the box count so far? When is the official moving day?

Hi Judi, Angie, Bonnie, Mel, Julie!

So before yesterday I didn't realize my Saturday morning show I watched in the 90s was a remake of one from the 70s...

Good morning, Sassies! Barney called from his room last night and seemed to be having a good time. He'd done a time trial for his 200 IM and was happy with it and liked his coach. Yum blueberries and raspberries :)

Oh no about the packing. Are you almost done yet?

Thanks :)

Yay for school almost being over with!

Thats sweet about the orchid.

So I weighed myself yesterday. Apparently in 5 days I've lost 7 pounds :woohoo::scared1: Now just to lose oh about 100 more.

Wilma, facebook was addicting for the first few months, but as Becca said, it wears off after a while. I still check it almost every day, but only for a minute. It's a really cool way to get quick updates on friends, both old and new!

I am up to 35 boxes, and still have quite a bit to go... The move is going to be complicated. We are moving 99% of our stuff into storage next weekend, then "camping" in the house until Reece's last day of school on the 17th. We'll clean up & clear out of the house that day, because we close & hand over the keys on the 18th.

We will be crashing at MIL's for a few weeks until we close on the new house. I think that is tentatively scheduled for July 3rd. Still waiting on an appraisal before we can set the date in stone.

Wow. I need a nap after typing all of that, let alone actually DOING it!

Bex, somehow I figured that you weren't the type to wipe that phone off & hang it back up! Good luck with the orchid. Hope we don't see you on the front page for Floral Homicide! And yay to the kids being out of school! Hope your weather gets more summery ASAP!

Tricia-- I had a trip to the dentist today also. Always good times! No mall afterward... We went to the storage place to buy more boxes! Not quite the same, is it?

Meli-- Congrats on the weight loss! Keep up the good work!

Off to Reece's swimming lesson now...

Good Morning Sassies!

Tricia - three kids at the ortho? Ouch! Will there be anything left to spend at the mall?;)

Oh no, not three kids in braces at the same time. Kelsie's been having her braces off for a few years now. Kendall is almost finished and Colin hasn't started yet. Kendall had the ortho appt. and Colin a cleaning. They just happen to be at the same place. I did have two in braces together but thankfully one was paid off before the other got hers on.
3.gif
Kendall got rubber bands yesterday. While trying to put them on she shot one across the room. :rotfl:

Meli-- Congrats on the weight loss! Keep up the good work!

Did I miss this post?

Congrats and tell me all about it. On Monday I took out all of my Weight Watcher books and started tracking again. I really need to get my butt in gear.

Shannon I can't even imagine moving a whole house full of stuff. I've only moved twice in my life and the first time was when Mark and I got married. We really didn't have much "stuff" at the time. It was mostly clothes and shoes for me. The second time was after Hurricane Katrina and well we had nothing to move. I no longer have an affliction with stuff. If you haven't used it in a while you probably won't so throw it out. Or better yet, donate it to charity. Good luck because I know how much we used to have in our attic. When we didn't know what to do with it but didn't really want to throw it out, up it went. A kid could have a field day playing up there. Now our attic consists of luggage and Christmas decorations. When the cable guy needs to come to fix something he always commits on how nice it is to be able to walk around not climbing over boxes. :confused3

Kendall has cheer practice this morning so Colin and I will run some errands while Kelsie sleeps the day away. Have a good one.

Good morning Sassies! The boys have left for their last 1/2 day of school. They are sad believe it or not.:confused3I was always so happy on the last day of school and they have lots of friends who live in the neighborhood so its not like they are isolated from them.

Tricia, I agree about the stuff! I have been purging more and more and it feels so great to be able to look for something and find it.

Shannon, good luck living with your mil.:rolleyes1Brave woman!

Hi all you other Sassies!

I know about camping in the house. We did that the first week and a half we were in Macon. I slept on the dog bed & he slept on the floor. Oh the fun of moving 1200 miles.

Hopefully you'll know your closing date soon! And don't wear yourself out with all that packing + cleaning.

Luckily you don't have 3 kids in braces at once! That would cost insane.

Yay for starting to track again :) We can do it!

Yay for school being over! I"m sure their sadness will go away soon :)

Good morning everyone! Fun filled day of work for me today. Hopefully I'll actually remember to eat lunch today since I didn't yesterday with all the craziness going on.

Good morning!! It's another beautiful day in paradise (OK, not really but if I say it enough maybe I'll start to believe it). :teeth:

Becca~your boys are SAD on the last day of school??? What are you teaching them-that school is fun? Shame on you-they should hate every minute!! ;)

Shannon~I feel for you! I have always said that moving is one of the worst things you can do. Dwight and I fight like cats and dogs the whole time. :sad2: I know you love your MIL, so living with her shouldn't be too bad, right?

Tricia~have you been watching Days? Wow-so sad!! :sad1: I'm still shocked with what happened. I don't want to say too much in case you haven't seen yesterday's episode yet.

Meli~Way to go on the weight loss!! :cool1: I wish I could get my butt in gear and lose some, too.

Today is the MIL's b-day. Dwight never knows what time he'll get home on weeknights, so we're taking her out this weekend to Carraba's. So far we've seen her every weekend, usually both days. And I had her come over Monday night and we spent 2 hours online getting her internet/phone/DirecTV set up. Oh, and last week she wrecked her car and I had to go get her and bring her to our house so she could calm down. She wasn't hurt, and the accident was her fault (she decided to turn left from the outside lane without looking to see if anyone was in the inside lane-she got T-boned by a big Dodge truck!). I feel like I have a child now! :headache: I told Dwight that spending all day with her every Saturday and Sunday was going to get old fast. Hopefully she'll join a church and a club or two and start making some friends.

Well, I'd better get some work done. Have a great day!! :flower3:

Good morning, Sassies! It's another rainy one here in old Cville. I know I should not complain, but I am soooooooo tired of rain. I get down enough with the cold, wet weather in the winter and certainly don't need more rain in the summer. It gets depressing. Bring on the sun!

Angie - is there a Senior Center or something like that in your town or in Phoenix? There is one here and they do all kinds of activities, have lectures, go on trips as a group, etc. My mom just joined the one here, even though she lives over the mountain about 45 minutes away. Before that, she used the church and quilting groups for most of her social networking, but it became too limited after a while. I wonder if your MIL would go for something like that? Her constant presence on the weekends (especially!) could be really hard for both of you after a while!

Shannon - Are the boys excited about staying at grandma's for a few weeks? I am definitely going through my Facebook addict stage, so hopefully it will be done by the time I go back to school!

Tricia - how was the dentist? Our kids live in an age where they may never have a cavity, what with sealants and all. Amazing! My kids LOVE going to the dentist - I just can't imagine feeling that way!

Becca - have you all started your summer meets yet? Aren't they on Tuesdays? Ours was thunderstormed out last night and rescheduled for tonight, but the forecast looks identical to yesterday's! Ay yi yi!

Judi - Where are you, my friend? I am sending you this little strawberry person to keep you company :cutie:

Bonnie - done with school yet?

Mel - Good luck with the weight loss!

Julie - How long were you able to keep Atlas "quiet and calm" post neutering? I am thinking this will be an impossible task with Wally!

Have a great day, all you Sassy things!
