Morning Sassies - mini trip report ahead:
I have returned from the wonderful world. We had an amazing time - my boyfriend Kenan loved it. So that must mean he is a keeper! Were are already planning our next trip!
AKV was terrific. I stayed at the Jambo house, but we did make a trip to Kidani. I can't wait to stay there. The pool area was beautiful. I can't believe that it has only been open a few months because the landscaping around the pool looks very established.
BCV was wonderful as well. I love, love, love my other home resort! We spent two days just hanging at the pool and enjoying the weather. It is also so great to be able to just walk into the F&W festival.
The parks were not as crowded as it has been in past Octobers. We did the
MNSSHP on Tuesday and all rides were walk ons. I will say that they were very stingy with candy this year. All the candy was the cheap kind too, not very much chocolate. For $52.00 per ticket it would be nice to be thrown a kit kat bar (my opinion).
We did La Nouba for the very first time ever. It was amazing. My daughter wanted to take the little Chinese girls home with us. They were so adorable. I loved the show. K bought us tickets that were 4th row center but I think any seat would be a good seat.
Places we ate:
Saturday - 8:05 at Crystal Palace - it is a tradition to start our first day before opening at MK so we can see the park without all the crowds. The breakfast was good - typical Disney buffet, and Kenan was enchanted with the castle.
Dinner at Kona - this was great although our server wasn't very good. First time at the restaurant, but it is a keeper!
Sunday - lunch at Yak n' Yeti - very good as always. We were on the 2nd floor and had a view of the park. Good service as well.
Dinner - Jiko. A romantic dinner for just K and I. The food was amazing and our service was wonderful.
Monday - amazing lunch at LeCellier. I know people are say the restaurant has gone downhill, but I thought it was great. I had the filet with mushroom risotto and loved it.
Tuesday - 50's Prime Time. I thought K should get a taste of Disney goofiness. He loved the premise and our server really played it up for us. The food was good, but we just go for the show.
Wednesday - Lunch - we ate around the world at EPCOT. Tried a lot of great dishes, and a few not so good ones. It was fun and the girls tried a bite of everything we got. I was very proud of them.
Dinner - Teppan Edo - very good. We had a great chef and the girls (Kate and her friend Paige) had a great time goofing with the chef.
Thursday - Raglan Road - I love this restaurant. The food was so good - I had the sirloin steak, it was so tender. The bread and butter pudding is the best here! I was too full to eat it all.
Friday - Mama Melrose. Our first time here - I heard a lot about it and wanted to try it. I really wasn't impressed. The food was only ok and our service was awful! Considering the restaurant was half empty and we were the only table she had there was no excuse for the poor service we received.
Saturday - Beaches n' Cream - we tried the kitchen sink. OMG that thing is huge. All four of us only ate about 1/3 of it. It was fun trying it for the first time though.
The weather was hotter than usual for October, mid 90's, but the sun was always shining and no rain. Unfortunately the humidity was a killer - we spent a lot of time in the pool.
It was a fun, relaxing and even romantic trip to the world although I really think K would have enjoyed it more if he had a huge obnoxious flowered headband to wear. Maybe next time!
