Still Sassy after all this time!

Thanks for the picture Judi. It's helps get the morning going. How's mom been feeling? Is Cole enjoying being in High School now?

Becca feel better soon. :flower3:

We've been having some crazy weather here lately. Earlier in the week it was pretty chilly but now we are back to using the air conditioner. Who knows what next week will bring? :confused3

Hi my favorite Sassies!!!

I thought I'd do a flyby and say HEY!!!
Things have be totally insane for me, more so than usual.... I had pneumonia 2 weeks ago -- I hadn't had that before -- If you haven't, don't try it... no fun at all.... So I am still recouping from that.
Then I found out I have to have carpal tunnel surgery on both hands...sounds like a gift card Christmas to me, unless I can shop and wrap in the next 4 weeks or so. Volleyball is over this week so, that will help.
And it has been determined that it isn't going to work out for us to adopt the little boy we were working on adopting... Talk about a rollercoaster of emotion.....

We are painting bedrooms, working on changing out furniture, building in porches.......lions and tigers and bears, oh my.....Calgon take me away!!!

I am hoping for a February Disney trip to regain some sanity... Any of you go Feb 6-13 (2nd week)? If so how bad were the crowds????

I miss you all and hope you all are well!!!! I can hardly believe Nov is upon us!!!

Have a Super Sassy Sunday!!! :wizard:

"Just another Manic Mondaaaay, Wish it Was Sunday...." (Brought to you courtesy of the timeless Bangles. LOL)

Just got back from a trip to good old Dayton OH to see my parents. Weather was cold & rainy, but it was nice to see them. It's weird how time creeps up on you, and all of the sudden you realize your parents aren't young anymore.

So what is everyone doing for Halloween? We're looking forward to actually having trick-or-treaters this year! Never got many before, as our old house was sort of in a dark (and scary) wooded corner. The boys want to wear their costumes from last year (revamped with some makeup), and I'm certainly not complaining! More money for Christmas! How many shopping days are left?:scared1:

Thanks for the welcome, Angie, and on the Squid thing...I HEAR YA, YES I DO!!!! :lmao:

She can be verrrrrrrrry OFFENSIVE!!!
AND where has that BON-ster been hiding??? :sad1:

Hi Kar!!! You're welcome to join the Sassies, though we really should double-check to see if Squid is up-to-date on her rabies vaccination.:rolleyes1

I hope you feel better soon Becca! You've had a rough time since you got home! And Bonnie has pneumonia too now, right? NO MORE SICK SASSIES!! And that's an order!

I hope everything is ok at the FrndofPooh household. Anyone heard from Wilma since she's been home?

Angus, not long until your cruise!!!!

Squid, I hope you have a fabulous time at WDW with your man & Squidlet. I'll make him a Sassyband next time. Probably better to not traumatize him on his first visit anyway--- he may not want to go back! (Especially if he ran into jerks waiting to ride Soarin' like I did).

Tricia, you're right. After kindergarten, the teachers aren't so keen on having mommies lurking in the classroom.

Judi, hope you're not shoveling yet!

Hi Julie! Wow. You have A LOT on your plate right now! Stay healthy, don't stress about Christmas (gift cards sound VERY appropriate), and don't take on too much. I'm sorry the adoption didn't work out-- you sounded very excited about it. As for a Feb trip, that's when we did our Sassy Meet last year. There was no one there for the first few days, and then it got a bit more crowded (but still not bad at all) as there was a cheerleading tournament. The weather was FREAKISHLY cold at first (hence my emergency purchase of cloven-hooved flip-flop socks), but warmed up a bit toward the end.

Hey to everybody in Sassyland!

Shannon-the jerk at Soarin' is one of my favorite memories from our trip (well that and your cloven-hooves)!! For those of you who weren't there we were wearing our beautiful sassy headbands and standing in line. This guy was staring at us like we were lepers. Shannon looked at him and asked "Jealous?" :lmao: Priceless! He did one of those manly eyerolls and said something snotty like "Uh, no." Great comeback, huh? :sad2: But I was too busy laughing at Shannon's comment to care!!

Julie-so sorry about the adoption. You have too much on your plate right now lady!! Take care of yourself.

We're on the final countdown for our cruise, and I'm starting to get nervous!! I always get stressed before vacation because there's too much to get done. Deep breaths...

I concur Angie. That guy was hilarious. I felt sorry for his wife, as it was obvious he had a cantankerous nature.

As for your pre-trip jitters.... breeeeeathe!:thumbsup2 Somehow, all the important things always get done, and the rest can wait.

Howdy Doody, SASSIES!!!
Thank you all for the warm welcome to your SASSY thread!!!
Sorry about the random fly by post last week BUT I went on vacation after I posted. I am back and wanted to stop in and say HEY!!!! :wave2:

I am headed to the world this Friday night. I can't wait to spend 8 days with my favorite kid (ok my only kid) and my favorite guy!!! Although I will admit that I have been getting very spoiled with my weekly visits from Mr. Florist. :rotfl:

Have a BLAST in the WORLD, Squid-ster!!! :mickeyjum

 Tricia

Welcome Kar!

 jbmom

Hi ya Kar. Long time no see.

 Judi

Hi Kar!!! You're welcome to join the Sassies, though we really should double-check to see if Squid is up-to-date on her rabies vaccination.:rolleyes1

 Shay

ITA about that Squidster!!! :teeth:

I hope all the SASSIES have a wonderful week!!! Getting my FLU shot tonight. Have you all gotten the flu shot AND will you be getting the H1N1 when it comes to your area?

Good Morning Sassies and all those wearing their sassy pants today.

Halloween will be rather hectic this year for us. Kelsie has her homecoming dance that night. Kendall will be going to a party around the corner from here and Colin will be my helper handing out the goodies. He said he doesn't want to trick or treat this year. Oh no my baby is growing up. :sad1: I still haven't bought the candy because I'm trying to be good and not eat it. If I would have bought it I would be back at the store for round two of the buying.

Angie I can't believe your trip snuck up on me so fast. Enjoy!:boat:

Shannon enjoy your first Halloween in the new neighborhood. I know before we lived here we only got maybe five or six little ghosts or goblins. Now we are in a subdivision overflowing with children.

Julie I'm so sorry things didn't work out for you and your family and the little boy.

Kar where did you go on vacation last week? Was it to visit Mickey and the gang?::MickeyMo::MinnieMopluto:pooh::goofy::donald::tink:

Becca are you feeling better now? I sure hope the sickness has left the Becca household and the boys didn't get it either. Remember about that trip report.

Hey Judi how are you my friend? Thanks for all the PMs of the Halloween decorations. Our friend Grumpy Pirate so graciously sent them to me as well.

FOP family are you back from Disney yet?

Squiddy I think you are at Disney now with your new beau. Fill us in when you return.

Where has the Bonster been? Hi Bonnie. I hope you are doing well.

If I forgot anyone I'm so sorry. :flower3:

Wow, Tricia, you are going to be one busy lady on Saturday night!!! :teeth:

ITA, with Tricia, Shay, I hope your FIRST Halloween in the new house will be allot of fun for you and the kiddos!!!! :teeth:

Kar where did you go on vacation last week? Was it to visit Mickey and the gang?::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Lolol, Tricia, I went on vacation RIGHT HERE in the OC!!! :sunny: I had 3 very close girlfriends fly in from my hometown, Boston, MA! We stayed at the Hilton@Huntington Beach. I live the next town over in Newport Beach BUT I packed my bags and stayed with the girls for 7 wonderful days of eating, drinking, talking, shopping, spa treatments, and of couse sitting by the pool. Yes, indeed, absolutely, we spent all day Sunday at Disneyland and it was all of their FIRST time's!!! :mickeyjum We went into City Hall on Main Street and they all got their FIRST TIME badges!!!

Squiddy I think you are at Disney now with your new beau. Fill us in when you return.

Yes indeedy, Squiddy, we went ALL the details!!! :dance3:

Where has the Bonster been? Hi Bonnie. I hope you are doing well.

Ohhhhh.....Bonnie, do you hear me? I am calling your name!!!!!!!!!! :yay:
To all the SASSIES, have a great day!!!! :flower3:

Well Sassies, this will be my last post before my cruise!!:dance3::cheer2:

I hope you all have a fantastic week, and I will be sure to drink some fruity adult beverages for all of you (with an umbrella just for you Tricia!!).

Now if I can just stay healthy. Gertie has been hacking on me all week!! :scared1: You'd think a 50 year old woman would know to cover her mouth. :sad2:

Sounds like you had a great vacation Kar! How was seeing DLR through the eyes of so many newbies?

Angie, Bon Voyage!!! Please drink SEVERAL fruity concoctions for me! I have all of my neighbor kids over here and I'm losing my mind!!!! I think you should go to the library & check out the Sesame Street book that tells little kids how to properly cough into their upper arm, and leave it on Gertie's desk! Subtle hint, right?

I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween. Supposed to rain here, but maybe, just maybe, the meteorologists will get it wrong. It could happen, right?;)

Morning Sassies - mini trip report ahead:

I have returned from the wonderful world. We had an amazing time - my boyfriend Kenan loved it. So that must mean he is a keeper! Were are already planning our next trip! :goodvibes

AKV was terrific. I stayed at the Jambo house, but we did make a trip to Kidani. I can't wait to stay there. The pool area was beautiful. I can't believe that it has only been open a few months because the landscaping around the pool looks very established.

BCV was wonderful as well. I love, love, love my other home resort! We spent two days just hanging at the pool and enjoying the weather. It is also so great to be able to just walk into the F&W festival.

The parks were not as crowded as it has been in past Octobers. We did the MNSSHP on Tuesday and all rides were walk ons. I will say that they were very stingy with candy this year. All the candy was the cheap kind too, not very much chocolate. For $52.00 per ticket it would be nice to be thrown a kit kat bar (my opinion).

We did La Nouba for the very first time ever. It was amazing. My daughter wanted to take the little Chinese girls home with us. They were so adorable. I loved the show. K bought us tickets that were 4th row center but I think any seat would be a good seat.

Places we ate:

Saturday - 8:05 at Crystal Palace - it is a tradition to start our first day before opening at MK so we can see the park without all the crowds. The breakfast was good - typical Disney buffet, and Kenan was enchanted with the castle.

Dinner at Kona - this was great although our server wasn't very good. First time at the restaurant, but it is a keeper!

Sunday - lunch at Yak n' Yeti - very good as always. We were on the 2nd floor and had a view of the park. Good service as well.

Dinner - Jiko. A romantic dinner for just K and I. The food was amazing and our service was wonderful.

Monday - amazing lunch at LeCellier. I know people are say the restaurant has gone downhill, but I thought it was great. I had the filet with mushroom risotto and loved it.

Tuesday - 50's Prime Time. I thought K should get a taste of Disney goofiness. He loved the premise and our server really played it up for us. The food was good, but we just go for the show.

Wednesday - Lunch - we ate around the world at EPCOT. Tried a lot of great dishes, and a few not so good ones. It was fun and the girls tried a bite of everything we got. I was very proud of them.

Dinner - Teppan Edo - very good. We had a great chef and the girls (Kate and her friend Paige) had a great time goofing with the chef.

Thursday - Raglan Road - I love this restaurant. The food was so good - I had the sirloin steak, it was so tender. The bread and butter pudding is the best here! I was too full to eat it all.

Friday - Mama Melrose. Our first time here - I heard a lot about it and wanted to try it. I really wasn't impressed. The food was only ok and our service was awful! Considering the restaurant was half empty and we were the only table she had there was no excuse for the poor service we received.

Saturday - Beaches n' Cream - we tried the kitchen sink. OMG that thing is huge. All four of us only ate about 1/3 of it. It was fun trying it for the first time though.

The weather was hotter than usual for October, mid 90's, but the sun was always shining and no rain. Unfortunately the humidity was a killer - we spent a lot of time in the pool.

It was a fun, relaxing and even romantic trip to the world although I really think K would have enjoyed it more if he had a huge obnoxious flowered headband to wear. Maybe next time!

Sounds like you had a great vacation Kar! How was seeing DLR through the eyes of so many newbies?

Oh Shay, they LOVED every minute of DL!! :mickeyjum I absolutely love WDW/DL during Halloween!!! The Parks looks so awesome!!! I am glad they were able to see DL at that time. ::yes::

Shay, how was the kiddos Halloween? Did they get allot of candy in the new neighborhood?

Hiya Judi!
:santa:

Squiddy, so good to see you back!!! Thanks so much for the mini trippie!!! :goodvibes Sounds like a very MAGICAL trip to WDW with K!!! :mickeyjum I think by the sounds of it, you have him HOOKED on your WORLD!!! ::yes::

One thing I forgot to mention which I found out. You can no longer ride in the front of the monorail. Because of the crash last summer, guests are no longer allowed to ride in the front of the monorails. You guys may have known that, it just came as a surprise to me.

Happy Thursday Sassies. I can't wait for Friday because my sweetie is coming to visit. I got spoiled spending 8 days together. We are going to have to make some sort of decision about this distance thing.

Thanks for the countdown Judi!!!

Squid, your trip, and your boyfriend, sound wonderful! So glad you had a good time. Tell my favorite Squidlet I said hello!

Thanks for the monorail tip. I had no idea that was the new rule.

Can't stay to write more, but I have one more thing to add....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRICIA!!!!!! Hope you had a wonderful day!!!:woohoo::yay::banana::cool1::cheer2:

Hey Sha-Nay-Nay! I will give Squidlet your hellos.

Happy Birthday Tricia! Hope you are having a great day!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It makes turning 44 not so bad. I actually had a really nice birthday day. My husband surprised me by taking the day off from work to have a nice birthday lunch just the two of us. Well surprise to him because I had to work at Kendall's school today. He took me out to breakfast instead which was quite yummy. Kendall had made a big birthday banner that she gave me at school and all of her friends stopped by and told me happy birthday. I have to admit that I did feel special. :goodvibes

Squiddy your trip sounds like you guys had a wonderful time. How nice that the new boyfriend got bit by the Disney bug too. So when's the next trip?

Judi thanks for the countdown to Christmas. I've been keeping Amazon rather busy sending me all those boxes of goodies. You gotta love no tax and free shipping. :thumbsup2

Shannon how was Halloween in the new neighborhood? Did you get all the rain you were expecting?

Angie's on her cruise but did the FOP family return yet?

Becca how are you feeling?

Kar your vacation with your girlfriends sounds wonderful.

I've been trying to talk Mark into going back to Disney in February for Mardi Gras but he's not really buying it. He keeps saying we were just there in May. I'm trying to get him to realize that with Kelsie going off to college next year she won't be getting the same vacation time as she gets now. So far he's not taking the bait but I'm not giving in just yet.

Hey Sassies! It's been a long time since I checked in. :guilty: Time flies, man!

How are all you girls doing? I'm okay. Life still sucketh, but I'm still happy!

We had Heather's Sweet Sixteen dance party on Sat. night. Our friends David and Kathy pretty much sponsored the vast majority of it, thank goodness, cause we are way too poor for an event like that right now. They had this big sound system, and lighting system up on scaffolding, food, decorations. We rented out the neighborhood rec center. The party turned out GREAT. There were 35-40 teenagers there and they ALL danced. I was suprised! And they wore their homecoming outfits, too. They were good kids and they all said they had a great time.

Brent still hasn't found an architecture job, but he did get a part-time job at the hobby store. It's less than unemployment, but at least it gives him soemthing to do. He only started working there about 2 weeks ago.

The girls are healthy and happy and so am I. It's hard on all of us being poor though!

Ainslee went to work with me one day and on my lunch hour we walked across the street to the library. On the way back Ainslee found this teeny tiny baby snake, the size of a worm. We decided to keep it for my class pet. My assistant, Marcel, got the snake all this snake habitat stuff. The students named him Slithers. He's adorable!

I'm dating, but not seeing anyone special. I'm kind of not feeling it right now. I do have a fellow I met online who lives in Tucson, AZ, but he works for American Airlines (something to do with luggage and stuff) and gets free flights, so he can visit me whenever he wants. He's coming this weekend for the first time. He is SUPER nice, but can be a wee bit boring at times. So we'll see how it goes.

How are you guys? Any WDW trips for anyone as of late? :yay:

Hello Sassies *waves*

hope everyone is doing great. Things are going pretty good here. Joey is loving his new school. I think it was definitely the right choice to pull him out of kindergarten and that he will be ready to go next week. Now that he is used to it we have him in full day now so it is alot like going to regular school. Its kinda a drain on our pocketbook but we feel this is super important.

Kate is liking school pretty much......starting to get interested in boys (God help me) and already has plenty of preteen attitude:headache:

Both kids have grown so much....I will try to post pictures later.

Happy belated Birthday Tricia.

**hugs** all around:grouphug:

Take care:goodvibes
