We leave for the poly in 10 days and, despite some not so great reports, I'm still looking forward to it!

We've never stayed at the poly before, so in this instance, maybe ingnorance is bliss.

I can deal with eating off of paper plates, not my 1st choice but I'll manage. I can even handle clearing my own table. With a family of 6 even the kids do it. I'm not a pessimist. I won't expect to be treated poorly or to be assinged a room with mold, but if it happens I'll handle it the same way I would somewhere else. Rude people? I run into them everyday, and if I encounter some while on vacation, I'll try to remember they are ruining their own vacation, and move on to enjoy mine.

I do have the advantage of reading the reports of those who have returned, and have an idea of what to expect, and I do understand the disappointment the poly's repeat guests have experienced.

It's just a shame that the negative in anything generates more conversation and interest than the positive.

The Polynesian looks like a beautiful resort and I am looking forward to a great stay!

Have an AWESOME trip. The Polynesian is a great resort!!

I have also posted on all the threads where people are worried about their vacations even though I have posted on some that have commented on the difference since the move to Tahiti.

That's what these boards are all about information and I want all I can get the good and the bad. In the past some negative reports and the way the poster resolved the situation have also helped me.

Hi there ~ you have the greatest attitude!! :)

Have a great trip and enjoy the Poly.

>>^..^<<

That is the attitude to have!

My family stayed at the Tahiti from 7/25 - 8/1, rooms 3017 & 3018. We enjoyed our stay and were happy with how the Polynesian was handled the concierge move.

We've stayed in Hawaii and the Tahiti isn't the Hawaii, but it was still a nice stay. Yes they did use black plastic (not paper) plates and utensils. Yes you did need to throw away your own trash...but hey we do that anyway out of consideration. Yes there are more rooms in Tahiti than Hawaii, so there were more people. But despite all of this, it was a good stay. The staff did what the could with the resources they had, and we had several that went out of their way to make our stay special (decorating the rooms for birthdays).

I agree that you pay for an extra level of service when staying at concierge, but some attitudes are reaching the "silver spoon in mouth" level too.

You have the right attitude to have a good time, no matter where you stay, but you should be fine at the Tahiti.

Enjoy your trip and hope y'all have a great time!

We have stayed at the Poly and loved it. I don't know why the negative reports generate so much conversation either. The walk thru the resort with the Tiki lights and music is really soothing after a long day at the parks. If I recall, the only problem we had there was the unusually long wait at the bus stop. It's not covered and can be hot. BUT, the buses are the only transportation to MGM or AK so it's not too bad. We always took the monorail everywhere else. You will really enjoy your stay there and the CM's were very nice. I would definately go back and stay there.

They have a new bus stop, in front of the building that has the Neverland Club, and it is covered and has benches. Tahiti is a short walk to it.:D
