I got outta that racket about ten years ago...too stressful

then I did administrative assistant for 8

and retail (skatepark) management for two.

now I am going back to school for Business Administration

that pretty much encompasses all of my business sense into one title.

Since we have to wait til tomorrow to see Nebo's pics...did anyone else post pics from the night at the Poly yet? Disneydad? Utahmama?

SOBB, I loved, loved, loved working at POR, but unfortunately only for 7 short months before I got transferred to a split DVC resort. Didn't know what that meant till later........... not good for a Finance employee......... in terms of workload and stress. that is.

POR was so pretty and great people and fun work, just enough complexity with 2 resorts (FQ and RS). Ok, I shall quit whining now, other people have much more to whine about.

You know, it took me a second. I wondered why you misspelled SOBB, then the nickel dropped in.

Sounds like a great time was had by all. I think I'd've gotten lost among all the trees of people. I'm 5' 1" if I stand really REALLY straight. Looks like our trip to POR is a day late and a dollar short (ok, a few days late).
Disneydad and mom look like they could be siblings.

that's right! he was using someone's else's phone to talk to chris! I wanted to say "hi" but nebo wouldn't let me. he was afraid if I used a cellphone I might get hooked and want one!

That was a cell phone? I thought it was a remote for the Electric Water pageant!

This is the resort we are considering for our next trip, since we now are a party of 6!

I am so eager to hear all I can about this resort. Everyone's enthusiasm is making this decision an easy one.

I hope you can post all the pictures you want without the ol' puter crashing.

Monica, I'm assuming you mean POR, But SIX? IN ONE ROOM? Ok, baby in crib, pull out trundle bed, I guess it could work. Hope your family is REALLY close.

Nebo,

I think we went to the last Nebo the Musical, I think it was a 4:30 show and the VIP seats are behind the sound booth thingy. We really enjoyed the show. Unfortunately we waited too long to eat during extra magic hours and the only place left open for us to eat was McDonalds, yuck! Only part of the reason that we left 2 table service credits and *12* counter service credits when we checked out.

Maggie, that's really a shame, we would have loved to meet you too.
ANd speaking of a shame, WOW, we left about ten snacks, and three counter service meals behind, and that almost killed me. But TABLE SERVICE meals? NEVER!

Once your family size goes up to five, they take away the values as choices. Unless you want to do two adjoining rooms. I'd like a change of scenery.

But you guessed it, pack n play, trundle, and two beds. We are in the parks all day, and just get back in time to sleep anyways.

So the rooms are smallish? Oh who cares. It's Disney!

Are the pictures ready yet? It's not like you have anything else to do right?

Well, that was the purpose of the PSA, Mony, you have to know what you want to not get disappointed.
Which reminds me, back in the day when we opened the GF, we walked each and every room to describe the view for classification, etc. and almost all rooms ended with "this room does NOT connect". Needless to say, many more connecting rooms were added later at great expense.

It almost did kill me to leave all those unused food credits! It would have been more table service credits if we hadn't managed to sneak in an unplanned breakfast at the Crystal Palace. I am really going to have to plan better for next year if my son doesn't start eating real food by then. How did you end up leaving snack credits on the table during Food and Wine Festival? We dropped a bunch of them there plus I tried my first Dole Whip at MK. My sister and I shared it and found it quite refreshing on a hot day. Plus, in case you were unaware, you can use snack credits to buy a large order of McDonalds fries for a starving teenager who would die before eating a steak or some seafood.

And there was something I was going to say to Frodo, just can't remember what it was. Must not have been too important, I guess.

SO, shall we continue this trip report goulash?

We did hear something that struck us both as a combination funny, and sad.

We were on our way into Epcot, and walking past the monorail platform when a woman came down the ramp pushing a stroller. She had just walked up to a security guard and we heard her say, "Excuse me, I'm looking for the Magic Kingdom!"

I got the feeling she was about to have a not very good day.

One thing we did this time at Riverside was we rented the Sea Raycers.
It was my idea, and a really dumb one at that. No, didn't use the vouchers that came with the package, wasn't going to spend that much for two boats at an hour a piece, just to get a free half hour. But I did think it might be worth it if I used the AAA card, for just a half hour a piece.

We had done it once before at the Wilderness Lodge, but when you're out in the lake, they just don't move fast enough to make it fun.
But my pathetic mind thought that, HEY! They'll seem much faster going down a little river, when you can actually see scenery going by.

HA!

They should rename them Sea Dogpaddlers.

ANd once again, Diane got the faster boat. (Boat? Yes, I saw a boat, this way) . I thought we could zip down to Downtown Disney, and just zip right back. How silly can I get?

The marina guy told me just before we pulled out, that if we hit Old Key West, it will be time to turn around and come back.

Once I pushed the throttle all the way, I could see why.

I could backstroke faster.

And since hers was faster, my view was mostly of Smidgy's back.

On top of that, we never even made it that far.
Just before OKW, another boat stopped us and yelled that we have to go back, a storm is coming.

Storm? Here? In central Florida? Nooo Waaay!

One thing that will get your attention though is when you have a huge ferry boat right behind you, and as you go under a bridge, see another one coming from the other direction!

I almost spilled my drink!

On the way back, we paused for a bit by the treehouses. Remember when you could stay there? Now they're just for vips and cast members from other Disney parks.

I then threw a couple of cheetohs to the hamsters that were powering my boat, looking for all the hamsterpower I could get out of it, and told Diane I'd race her back. I knew I had no chance of winning, which is why I took off as she was still facing the other way.

It took her about 3 minutes to pass me.

Back at the room, we made a couple of drinks and went down to a table at the quiet pool, just as a mom with 4 kids showed up.

Along with the storm.

We saw that the lifeguards had already cleared out the Main Pool area, entirely, but the quiet pools are a different story. Even though it hadn't really started raining yet, there was plenty of lightning and thunder going on in the distance.

But this mom couldn't seem to care less. All the kids were still in the pool, as she sat at the other table.
Diane finally cracked and told her that they have not only shut down the main pool, but cleared the pool area also.

She finally did the right thing.

"Hey you kids, keep an eye on the lightning up there."

Oh.

Yep, that'll work.

We finished up and went back to the room cuz I wasn't in the mood for microwaved dinner that night.

And boy did it come down.

Oh, there was something else I was going to mention.

On friday, there was this meeting of some dissers, on the beach at the Poly.

Most of them were inside having dinner at Kona's. Some of us just came over for just the meet.
We had dinner at Narcoosee's, and took the boat over.

The participants that were there, were:
Utahmama and husband, Ron.
Lexmelinda and hubby, Jamie.
Disneyfreak92 and hubby Josh.
Iris, whom I didn't meet until the very end
Colleen, aka Tiggerwannabe, Eeyore45 I think I have that right? Goes by the name of Sandy.
Disneydad99, aka 47 and Disneymom, aka Karen were there.

Those are the ones I remember, I'm really sorry if I missed someone.

Backstage Gal, Aka Marita was supposed to be there, and I heard she was, upstairs, but when she heard Nebo was going to be there, she took off like a shot for her car.

So let's start with Lynda and Josh.

THey are also from Illinois, and just great people.

I thought I would recognize Wendy, Utahmama, in a heartbeat, having seen her picture on her signature only about a thousand times, but I didn't.

I didn't believe it was her when I was introduced, so I asked her to bend over, turn her head, and hold up a coke bottle.

Nope, still didn't look like her. She looks better in person.

I remembered thinking later that night, that when I gave her the directions for the pose that she started giving me a funny look, and then it dawned on me. She was probably wondering if I was going to add, "and cough".

She and her husband Ron are really nice people, fun to be around.

When we first got there, Disneydad and Mom were already there, so we just pulled up a chair and joined them.
Colleen came next, right after we watched the Electric Water Pageant, and right before the fireworks started.

She likes to make an entrance.

Just as we thought, she's a very classy woman.

Soon after her arrival, the rest of them all came down from Kona's. There was a lot of handshaking and hugging, and 20 people all talking at once. I finally got to meet Jamie, Melinda's husband, who only arrived a couple days ago. Seemed like a nice guy, though I never really had much of a chance to talke with him that night.

With that many women, the guys didn't stand a chance. Patrick and I just stood off to the side singing 867 5309.

Don't ask.

For some reason, I never got to take any of the group photos, so I turned to my stealth mode.

Here you'll see Josh and Lynda reacting to Melinda describing the horror of having to live with 3 kids in a single room for a week.

Then we have Tiggerwannabe, Colleen, telling Disneydad in no uncertain terms to put the camera away, or maybe it was to put the drink down, while Diane laughs on the side.

Next you'll see Lynda, with Colleen in the background who just realizes I just took her picture anyway.

By the way, the special HallowWishes fireworks were just great, and the Poly is a great place to watch them from.

Now, as you can tell, I like taking candid shots much better than traditional "pose" shots. This way I can always make up a story for each shot. But I had a hard time with Wendy and Ron, so it was traditional.
And Lynda and Josh.

So, ok, I'll give Melinda and Jamie the same treatment. ,,,,,,,however,,,,,,,,

Somtimes it's what's happening in the background that makes my day.
I'm easily amused.

I think Disneydad had one too many Lapu Lapus, and couldn't find his nose.

Boy, he's gonna kill me! I'm dead meat on his report.


I then tried to take a traditional picture of Disneydad.
But Sandy had other plans.

Let me just say this. You are looking at a great collection of dissers, every one of them a class act in themselves, and folks I'm proud to have as friends.

And Diane couldn't agree with me more.

Now I wish I could meet the rest of you.

It was so fun hearing about your DIS meet Nebo & Smidgy! Sounds like a good time was had by all. (some may have had too good of a time!!!)

Oh, and Nebo. If there is a next time with the Sea (non)Raycers, you may want to test out ZZUB's theory. In case ya missed it, let's just say you should first hit up the Hoop Dee Doo, & chow down on the beans. Then when you find your Sea Raycer going ever so slooowly, hop on in behind it, hang on, and let 'er rip!!!

Just make sure Smidgy is right behind with a video camera!!! ok, maybe not RIGHT behind...
