Great update as usual. We were told that the Sea racers you rent over at DTD and at Riverside/FQ do not go as fast as the ones you can get at the resorts over at Bay Lake. DH didn't believe them and rented one anyway...I think I walked faster than it would go.

We were on our way into Epcot, and walking past the monorail platform when a woman came down the ramp pushing a stroller. She had just walked up to a security guard and we heard her say, "Excuse me, I'm looking for the Magic Kingdom!"

I got the feeling she was about to have a not very good day.

Well, you know, we all have our days, right? I seem to recall somebody a few million pages back who got lost at their own resort, and ended up walking in circles several times past the same CM lawn guy. Yes?

One thing that will get your attention though is when you have a huge ferry boat right behind you, and as you go under a bridge, see another one coming from the other direction!

I almost spilled my drink!

I then threw a couple of cheetohs to the hamsters that were powering my boat, looking for all the hamsterpower I could get out of it, and told Diane I'd race her back.

I hear the hamsters run faster for Doritos.

She finally did the right thing.

"Hey you kids, keep an eye on the lightning up there."

Oh.

Yep, that'll work.

Too funny! It's amazing the fine parenting skills that can be observed at Disney.

It almost did kill me to leave all those unused food credits! It would have been more table service credits if we hadn't managed to sneak in an unplanned breakfast at the Crystal Palace. I am really going to have to plan better for next year if my son doesn't start eating real food by then. How did you end up leaving snack credits on the table during Food and Wine Festival? We dropped a bunch of them there plus I tried my first Dole Whip at MK. My sister and I shared it and found it quite refreshing on a hot day. Plus, in case you were unaware, you can use snack credits to buy a large order of McDonalds fries for a starving teenager who would die before eating a steak or some seafood.

Maggie, that was the problem. We only had a day and a half left to spend at Epcot for F and W. Plus, we already had dinner ressies for Canada and Morocco. I just didn't have room for any F and W stuffage.

You know why we love those spritzer fans? Cuz they sell them in bins of ice, and we use the ice to replenish our special Sunny D bottles.

MMM, yes, it was real hot, the worst I've ever seen it, ever, combined with the humidity, and it was just as bad two weeks earlier.

Anyway, I got busy winterizing the car.

Today it took me two hours changing the air in the tires for Winter Air. You don't want to have summer air in your tires in the winter.

So, anyone feel like taking a walk today?
I still have a few photos to post from this last trip, before I return to what I started out doing, the one that I actually paid attention to.

What say we walk over to the Mansion side of Riverside? There really isn't much sun that can get through the trees at the quiet pools over in the bayou, at least not in the morning. And even the main pool, has "issues".

Before nine or so, only a few loungers get sun. But ohboy, they start that music playing at seven in the morning. So let's try the other quiet pools. Ok?

Definately, not as scenic, but a lot sunnier. It was also a lot quieter over here. Ok, warning, gratuitous photo of Nebo coming up. Put the kids to bed, cover the monitor.

And I wasn't even holding in my stomach that time. Being out of work and starving will fix that problem.

Except, there was a problem this time coming back to our room.
We noticed on the way back to the room after a couple days, that two rooms down from us had a bunch of shoes lined up outside the door.
And since we had to pass them every time, you just couldn't help but notice them.

And they never changed.
The order I mean. Two white shoes, two blue, two white, two red and two white.
I mean it started to get spooky.
They looked like swimwear shoes, but after 3 days of US noticing them, and who knows how many days before that we didn't? I was starting to really wonder.

Then.
Then, I noticed the "do not disturb" sign hanging from the doorknob.

Oh my God.

How long has that been there?

There was even a bag of towels and toilet paper that the maid will leave you when she doesn't get to clean your room.

I pointed that out to Diane.

Then I pointed out that the Blinds have never been open, least not when we walk by.

I told Diane that I don't like it. Sometimes I get a feeling, and usually I'm right.
Nope, don't like it at all.

I counted the shoes, 10, five pairs, looked to be all kids shoes, maybe a mom in there also.

But no big "dad" shoes.

These shoes haven't moved an inch in four days.
I tried to peer in through the blinds, no use.
Diane asked me, "Why do you think that is?"

"THEY ARE ALL DEAD IN THERE, THAT'S WHY THEY HAVEN'T CHANGED."

We looked at each other, then decided that something needed to be done.

Trust me, I wasn't sure I wanted to know the answer.

But at least Diane acted.

She took out the toilet paper from the bag, and then,,,,,,,,,, and then,,,,,,,

She rearranged the shoes.

By the way, the room number? 1408!

The next morning, as we left for Magic Kingdom, they were all back in line again. So, of coarse, Diane switched them again.

This time, she even put the blue shoes with the red. (shudder)

OHhhh man! I'm sorry, I"m losing it! Ok, ok, I'm alright now. snup, snup.

Alrighty then, let's move on to a few shots of Magic kingdom. But the MK on a foggy day.

I was taking a picture of the fogginess, but didn't realize that I was also getting a picture of the Gestapo convention at the same time.

One more of someone else that can make me smile.

Oh, I did want to say another thing or two. One day we stopped by to watch the Mickey and Goofy show in front of the castle. Here.

When , for about 3 seconds, the sound cut out, and I could tell the actores weren't sure what to do. Suddenly, the sound came back, it went on for five more minutes, then they all stopped again and ran off the stage. A voice came over the loudspeaker telling us they are sorry they had to interupt this show, please consult your times schedule for the next available show.

No, not sure what happened.

I told Diane they caught Goofy with the Dad's shoes from 1408.

We were also there for the Epcot anniversary ceremony, although, to me it was a bit of a let down. It moved along ok until Marty Sklar got up there, he needed a Readers Digest version for his speech.

And honestly, this really happened,,, we were walking away from the presentation towards SHowcase, when as we walked past a bench with 3 older women sitting on it, Diane said to me:

"Weren't you expecting them to bring up the original cast members?"

Before I could even answer, one of them said;
"So were we."

One of them looked like she was wiping a tear away, and I realized we were talking to the same people Diane mentioned.

But they all had nice smiles on their faces, and , yes, they still work there.

It was all I could do to go up and give each one of them a hug.

No, I didn't mention that our last full day there, we finally met up with Sheridac. You don't understand, this was a momentous occasion for me.

I wanted to kill her!

In my last trip report, she gave me such a hard time about being old, (always in good natured fun), but I still wanted to kill her. Or at least meet her. ANd the one day we did meet, she also brought along Haley B and Minniemoo showed up. HaleyB was a sweetheart as I thought she'd be, minniemoo I had heard of , just never talked or seen her before, and she turned out to be just as friendly as could be. But, my nemesis? Sheridac?

Evidently, every time she posted a group picture from her trip report, I kept looking at the wrong one, thinking it was her. Yes, she's , um,,,,, exhuberant, to say the least. I'm sorry I didn 't get any pictures of you guys.

And now that we've met some of you, man, I wish we had the chance to meet more of you readers.

I thank all of you guys that we met, and let me post your pictures, even though Disneydad didn't really get a fair shake. (sorry man, had to go for it)

We love you all, hope that there will now be , "reunions", in the talk, along with DIS meets. night.
