Still amazed at the folks who don't get Fast Pass!

We went on Test Track last week (which I will admit was much better then I thought - I think it must not have worked right the one time I rode it before - but I digress!!) and used our fast passes. There was a couple in line in front of us who'd been given some by someone leaving the park. They asked us how much they cost!! Now they had park maps in their pocket - and the first thing you see when you open your map is an explanation of Fast Pass! Maybe Disney needs to put "FREE" in great big letters and THEN explain them so people will pay attention!

LOL
NOOOOOOOOO!
Don't put up a free sign.... it's good that not every single person who enters the parks knows the Fast Passes are the way to go! LOL

LOL! I was thinking the same thing BBB. Lets keep it our little secret. ;)

LOL
Exactly....
that's why I only send my GOOD FRIENDS (that are going to Disney or thinking about it) to this board... I don't want the WHOLE WORLD knowing all the secrets! LOL

WOW... Us DISers must think alike, because if everyone knows about Fast Pass, how "fast" will it really be then? :)

I've heard people say you have to have a special card or ticket (I think they see people using their room key/pass).

I love when people think they can jump over into the fastpass line and get away with it! It's funny to see them walking back with their head down!

Not Disney but fast pass related... We were at Universal Studios the other day and the lines were 30-45 minutes long, we walked over to the Express Pass machines for Twister and guess what the time slot was for that very time. So the folks that walked into the line at the same time as us, waited 45 mins, we walked right on. Always check the FP or EP times. We did it again with Back to the Future and did the same, wait time 45 mins, we got EP right the same time it was at that very minute (well it was 1:00 and the EP was for 1:05pm-2:05pm).... so we spent 5 minutes in the Cool Zone and then walked right now.

We did this at Disney once too, I figure if the lines 45 mins or so, and the next FP available is for 1/2 to an hour later, we get it and then hang out somewhere cool until our time, beats the line, even though it is the same time before we get on.

We couldn't understand why people weren't using Fastpass. Do you really think they don't know about it? I'm fairly cynical about the average person's IQ , but how could you not know about Fastpass. The signs are right in front of the ride. And it's explained in the park map. Dh and I disagreed on why people don't use fast pass. Dh thought folks were just too dumb to figure it out, but I thought maybe they were just unorganized, or too lazy to get the pass and then walk all the way over to another attraction while waiting for their fastpass time.

We found fastpass to be a BIG time saver. I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes for anything and we went on all the big rides. And after dh, ds and I all rode Space Mountain, we came back to MK another day and got 3 fast passes and ds rode Space Mountain 3 times in a row. He LOVED that.

While in the fast pass line for Mission Space a few weeks ago we over heard (it was hard not to;) ) a woman telling her kids how unfair fast pass was and how those privileged fast pass people should have to wait like everyone else! Too funny.
But, like I told my dh, if they can't figure it out with it posted on the maps and everywhere in the parks and explained in detail on the planning video then they are probably beyond all help.

I thought one day pass users were not able to use the Fast Pass system. Someone please tell me if I'm right or wrong. I was wondering the same thing about people in stand-by while there a few weeks ago. princess:

at the risk that more people may figure out the system ANYONE can use fastpass, as long as they have a valid admission...the people we hear in line grumbling about us fastpass users are ignorant..the info is there for anyone interested and any CM would gladly explain it to them if they just ask....

SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! If they want to know all they have to do is a little research... It's kind of like kids who don't use things hanging on the wall on tests.. It is right in front of their noses!!!

When we were there over Easter I heard so many people say "I wonder how much extra fast pass costs!!!!

I say let people not know! Better for us that ride!

We are always amazed at the number of people in the standby line(why would anyone wait 90 minutes to ride a ride???). We took DH's family for their first WDW trip ever and even they didn't understand why more people don't use FP. It's not that hard:confused: SShhhh....Let's just keep it our little secret;)

To be fair, you are only allowed 1 FP at a time, so I'm sure SOME in the standby line have FP's for other rides and are just killing time until it's time to use it.

My sister went with us this past trip...(never visited with FP option before) she was amazed that so many people didn't use FP after I explaned anyone could use them, I said SSSHHHH. All the better for us.

When we went week before last, we were in the standby line for Rockin Rollercoaster that had a posted wait of 20 minutes. We already had a FP for another attraction and since the wait was posted as 20 minutes we decided to go standby. The wait ended up taking much longer than the 20 minutes but by the time we'd invested so much time into it already we decided to just stick it out. While in line, I said to the girls "If I'd known it would take this long, we would've waited and gotten a Fastpass."

A lady in line overheard me and said, "But they're so expensive!" I explained that they were free and she said that the man she bought them from told her that it would cost $40 extra per ticket to get the ones you can use fastpass with. I asked her if they had the magnetic thing on the back and she showed me thier passes and they were regular hoppers. I showed her mine and told her she could use fastpass with those and told her how to do it.

She seemed unsure so I told her to let her husband and kids hold her place in line while she went and got FP's for R&R. When she returned she was in tears so I thought that I was wrong and she couldn't get it to work. But they were happy tears and she held up 5 Fastpasses and gave me a hug!:teeth: They were already two days into her trip, but had 5 more days to go. I asked her where she bought them and she said they got them at a discount from a guy on the street in a booth. That guy tried to scam them into paying $40 more per ticket to use FP! I didn't ask how much she paid for them.
