Stick with what we know or switch it up?

"Therefore, we decided that we'll probably be sticking with *one/the cheapest deal of the three* of the crescent lake hotels each trip for a while including our upcoming trip. If you'll stay at the Epcot resorts once, (BWI, YC or BC), it will allow you to see which area of WDW you like better for future trips. "

^^ That's what we've done numerous times. We start off at the Beach Club, but let our travel agent know that we'll happily accept any Deluxe that sleeps 5 and offers a substantial savings.

One trip, that meant the Yacht Club (the SAME building as BC) with a savings of $1000. What's not to love?

I think it’s good to mix it up. We have only repeated a resort stay once, and that was because the large group we were going with wanted to stay at a particular resort.

That said, use caution if you decide to downgrade your resort category. There was a noticeable difference when we went from a Deluxe resort down to a Moderate. Don’t get me wrong, we have had a great time at all the resorts we’ve been to (Coronado, Caribbean Beach, and Kidani Village). But the theming was less detailed, and we felt like we had to wait longer for buses. We’re definitely going back up to a Deluxe for the next trip.
