I just watched the 20/20 interview. WOW!!! So sad but what love they had for each other, their kids and life. I must comment on one person that is spoken least about - Baby Bob - what a gorgeous little boy!!! There haven't been many pics, at least not here in the U.S. of him, I think we all have seen Bindi but Bob is adorable.

I was in WDW last week, did not see the memorial (my Mom taped it for me), but Bindi has such a beautiful little voice and is so strong & poised. They are both destined to greatness.

Terri is so strong and looked wonderful, all things considering. I just can't imagine how I would be had I just lost my husband. What a huge responsiblility the 3 of them have. God Bless Them.

Irwin's zoo 'will get bigger, better'

AUSTRALIA zoo will only get bigger and better, Steve Irwin's former manager John Stainton said.



Mr Stainton said he had discussed expansion plans with the Crocodile Hunter's widow Terri Irwin.

He said Mrs Irwin planned to carry on Steve's legacy, including implementing research programs for sharks, crocodile's and Hairy nosed wombats.

""All the things he wanted to achieve in his life, Terri will continue that work," he told Channel 9 today.

"The zoo is going to expand, it's already on an expansion plan over the next 10 years and it's going to get bigger and better.

In an emotional interview aired on Nine last night, Mrs Irwin said she would focus her efforts toward her children and the zoo.

"I have to cope, I'll be here for my kids and I'll make Australia Zoo bigger...I'll make it bigger," she said.

Mr Stainton described Mrs Irwin as a "rock" who balanced out Steve's larger than life persona.

"Terri was a very level-headed, sensible girl, as you know from Steve he was very gung-ho and larger than life, but you need somebody there to balance that in the background.

"She is the rock of the family and she will continue to be the rock of the family."

Mr Stainton said since the Crocodile Hunter's death, he had spent time with Terri each day reflecting on Steve's life and believed she was getting her life back on track.

"Each day she is getting a little better and she's been able to get more into thinking about the future with the zoo and I think in the next week she will be probably back on top I hope."

Mr Stainton said despite the criticism of some psychologists, Steve's youngest daughter Bindi understood the ramifications of her father's death.

"She's been acclimatised to death, she has lost a lot of close animal friends in the zoo and I think the fact that her mum and dad have been very upfront with her about death have made it much easier for her."

He said Bindi and Bob had been able to spend more time with their dad than most kids.

"He'd spend probably three, four hours a day with the kids, not many dads can do that ...

"He gave them an awful lot of time."

I didn't appreciate it when Barbara Walters said "...provoking the very animals he treasured ...". Since when did Steve go about "provoking" animals?

The interview was so hard to watch, it really stirred up a lot of emotions for me. I just can't imagine what Terri's been going through.

Ahhhhhhh yeah I forgot about those guys... they are about 2=3 hrs behind the east coast.. so yeah.. quite possibly once it's been aired throughout the states it will open up here.

I'll check it every hour or so anyway and hopefully by the time you get up in the morning it will be open for all to see.

I was actually looking for a way to contact them to ask if and when it's gonig to be available to be viewed to non Australian residents.. but couldn't find anything.. but that's not to say I've given up... where there's a will there's a way.

Steve never provoked any animal.. whatever he did he was putting his own life at risk and all for the sake of our education.. He wanted to get his message across to all of us out there and yeah in some cases the anmals were a little agro, but they settled down.

Must be a copyright thing because I can't copy / paste the above article but it is a nice interview with the family from this past August. Given that Steve has passed some parts are sad but you can sense his passion for wildlife and family in it. Actually you can get a sense of it from the entire family.

I just watched 20/20,,,, one time when Terri was talking I got chills imagining how awesome life with Steve was and I cried and laughed when I heard Steve was afraid of someone I love.

I dont know how Barbara could sit there without crying, I know id be a basket case not only with Terri crying but the beauty of that zoo would overwhelm me.

From what I've seen so far.. Terri elaborates a bit more in the Aussie interview. I also noticed something missing from the Walters one... in the Aussie one Terri has a box of tissues on the ground beside her.. plus she and Ray Martin took a walk outisde to look at all the tribuutes as Terri had not yet been out there to look at them all. She really broke down when she saw them all.

I watched the Barbara Walters interview last night. I thought Terri was amazing. I laughed when she told some of their early adventures together and cried when she cried. Although her heart is broken and will be forever , she is a strong woman and will keep herself, the kids and the zoo going. Wow, what a life they had together. I also like the fact that they had discussed if something ever happened to him, he wanted his resting place to be private. When she said that is was hard to keep up with him because he had such a sense of urgency that everything had to be done "now," it was like he knew that he had so much to do and so little time.

THE difference between Australian and US network TV is buckets of money. The discrepancy was laid bare when Ray Martin for Nine and Barbara Walters for US network ABC descended on Australia Zoo on the weekend to record interviews with Terri Irwin. It is a measure of the status of the Irwins in the US that Walters would deign to travel all the way to Australia to talk to her. As Walters has reportedly noted, it was two 22-hour flights in three days. Walters has interviewed everyone from world figures such as Russia's Boris Yeltsin, China's Premier Jiang Zemin and former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher to famous mistresses such as Monica Lewinsky. The matriarch of American TV arrived at Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast on a Qantas jet with an entourage of 30, including the advance party that arrived a few days earlier to smooth the way for the grand dame. While Nine had two cameras for the shoot, Walters had seven. Seven cameras to film one person. The US production was akin to a mini-movie as truckloads of equipment were flown in to make the hour-long special, which aired on Wednesday at 10pm US time. Walters recorded her interview with Irwin on the Friday, then spent a long day on Saturday at the zoo recording extra footage. The Americans needed lots of shots of Walters, Terri and the koalas, kangaroos and snakes, so creatures were strategically placed in trees to get the right effect. While Walters was charming on Friday, we hear she was a little snappy on Saturday as her patience ran out and the jet lag kicked in.

What I really appreciated from the interview was the way Terri & Steve loved each other. They were true soul mates. And what really got me was at the end when Terri said she "will miss how fun he was". It really put things into perspective for me. WOW!!! I loved seeing the home videos.

Yeah…I didn’t like the “provoked” part either and being a reptile enthusiast my whole life, I got mad when Barbara asked why Steve would love crocodiles. She said: “that’s weird.”

Terri couldn’t have been any more articulate and well spoken. Man, I was impressed.
